"It’s okay. We’ll find a way."
Stella Sterling smiled. Then, with a wave of her hand, the firearms she had just moved out of her space were now being drawn back into it.
Before, she had to physically touch things to put them into her space, but it wasn’t that troubleso anymore.
Seeing so many objects suddenly vanish was more incredible than any magic trick.
Black Swan’s jaw dropped. For a long while, no sound ca from her throat.
Shock and confusion weren’t enough to describe what she was feeling. In that mont, she was even a little scared.
The scene before her was simply too bizarre.
She looked at Stella Sterling. "Sterling... Sterling, this is—"
She wasn’t an idiot. The items had vanished right in front of them, yet Sterling showed no reaction. It was easy to guess that Sterling herself was likely involved.
’What kind of power is this?’
Black Swan had never seen anything like it and felt an inexplicable panic rising in her heart.
"No need to be surprised. It’s just a little trick. You’ll get used to it after seeing it a few tis."
Stella Sterling’s face was calm as she offered a word of comfort.
Black Swan wasn’t exactly faint of heart. Although she was still reeling from the shock, her expression had cald considerably.
She took a deep breath and looked at Stella Sterling, her gaze filled with a mix of surprise, admiration, and sothing inscrutable.
’If all of this has to do with Ivy Sterling, then how on earth does she do it? It’s all too incredible.’
Stella Sterling gave her a faint smile, and in the next mont, she vanished right before her eyes.
Her astonishnt now was no less than the shock she’d felt when the items disappeared.
A bloodcurdling scream erupted from Black Swan’s mouth. "AHHHHHH!"
The sound echoed endlessly inside the cave, piercing the sky.
"Sterling! Sterling, where did you go?"
Black Swan frantically looked around, searching for any sign of Stella Sterling. She paced and called out, her voice laced with panic.
To be in the middle of this remote mountain forest, first things, and then a person, just vanish into thin air... and right before she disappeared, Stella Sterling had been smiling at her like that. ’This is terrifying, okay?’
’She can’t have run into so kind of paranormal event, can she? Then again, the weather these past two years has been so strange, things that were impossible before are now...’
’So anything is possible...’
Normally, Black Swan would have bolted by now. But even though she was terrified, she didn’t dare run.
’That pill she made swallow... who knows if it’s poison? It could be like in those TV shows where you need an antidote every so often.’
’If Stella Sterling is gone, who am I supposed to get the antidote from when the poison acts up?’
Just as she was frantically searching, she felt a tap on her shoulder from behind.
In an instant, she felt the hair on her body stand on end. Goosebumps erupted all over her skin, and her heart skipped a beat.
A flicker of terror crossed her eyes. She balled her fist and swung it behind her. "I don’t care if you’re a ghost! I’ve killed plenty of people in the apocalypse, you think I’m scared of so dead ghoul?! Get the hell away from !"
But when she turned, she saw Stella Sterling standing behind her. Before she could even process it, the familiar numbing, electric sensation spread through her body. She twitched and collapsed, falling stiffly to the ground.
"So young, yet so timid. Can’t handle a little scare, I see."
Stella Sterling looked at the person on the ground and shook her head, her tone sowhat dissatisfied.
Compared to Stephen Lawrence’s performance, Black Swan’s reaction was far worse.
A year ago, when she had demonstrated her dinsional space to Stephen Lawrence, he had been much calr.
He was only surprised for a mont before calmly asking her, "What is this ability?"
He even suspected that she might have awakened so kind of special ability.
After all, before the apocalypse, weren’t there tons of apocalyptic novels? The apocalypse arrives, so people awaken special abilities, and then they turn their lives around.
That was the first thing Stephen Lawrence thought of.
Of course, Stella Sterling just rolled her eyes at him in response.
However, his calm reaction told Stella Sterling that her guess had been correct—Stephen Lawrence already had his suspicions.
After all, back when he was at her house, there had been quite a few abnormalities. He had probably been suspicious for a long ti but just didn’t dare to ask.
Many tis, when things suddenly materialized on her person, Stephen Lawrence would just consciously look away, not asking or saying a word.
That’s when Stella Sterling confird that he had already guessed sothing. They had spent so much ti together, and she often didn’t bother to deliberately hide anything in front of him, so it wasn’t strange that he had figured so things out.
A year ago, Stella Sterling had openly demonstrated the ability of her space to him.
After all, with her building a base and needing a source for so many supplies, it would be very inconvenient if she didn’t reveal so of her other abilities.
And Stephen Lawrence, after the harsh lesson he’d been taught and because of the Loyal Servant Pill, was now completely loyal to her. Even without the pill, he would have followed her wholeheartedly, which was why she felt safe enough to show him so of her extraordinary abilities.
And because he had long suspected sothing, Stephen Lawrence showed no other reaction besides shock. From then on, he beca even more respectful in her presence.
With Stephen Lawrence providing cover, everything beca much more convenient for her. She had a perfectly justifiable excuse to take things out of her space.
But now, with matters concerning Caeluna piling up, Stephen Lawrence was getting busier and busier. That’s why she had turned her attention to the other person who had taken a Loyal Servant Pill—Black Swan.
Black Swan hadn’t spent ti with her before and had never seen things inexplicably appear on her, so she was completely unprepared, which led to her recent reaction.
’This reaction is so much more interesting than Stephen Lawrence’s bland one,’ Stella Sterling thought. She loved seeing people overreact like that; it was very amusing.
But people are people. Once they’re shocked the first ti, they’ll get used to it.
She now had the ability to protect herself. Even if she revealed so things to people, she no longer had to worry like she did before.
In any case, both Stephen Lawrence and Black Swan had taken the Loyal Servant Pill. They had no opportunity to leak the information.
She had to admit, the convenience of using her space freely, without having to be secretive, felt damn good.
Stella Sterling looked at the person still unconscious on the ground, a small smile playing on her lips.
