When they went on a mission at the Zeyi Mall before, it was because the others weren’t available and it was understandable.

"From now on I’ll follow you on your missions." Ye Xuan replied again in that matter-of-fact attitude.

Chu Miao looked at him for a while and seeing that he pretended not to feel her gaze, she turned around and looked outside the window.

She knew people with his personality once they decided on sothing, even hundred bulls couldn’t pull them back. So, she accepted the fact that her two-man team with her brother had gained a new imposing mber.

She couldn’t be bothered to argue with him when she knew that the outco wouldn’t change.

"Don’t you have your own teammates? Why would you follow us?" Chu Hao asked again with so irritation.

This guy was already invading his private ti with his sister.

"I promised Grandpa Chu to protect Miao. I intend to keep that promise." Ye Xuan replied in a rare mont of indulgence.

He would normally not bother answering such questions, but as seeing the person in front of him was Chu Miao’s brother, he decided to entertain him.

Chu Hao didn’t ask anymore questions as just like his sister, he realized that this guy wasn’t easy to deal with.

He just stepped on the accelerator and the car left the Garden community.

Because of the condition of the roads that had started to flood with so water, the Chu family had taken out the modified humvees to use today.

Because of the persistent rain that had been going on for more than three days, no one was outside. Even when they left, only a few people within their building saw them.

Therefore, they didn’t have a problem taking out the vehicles from the space while in the garage.

So, the ride today was more comfortable and stable. Chu Hao didn’t even need to avoid the few zombies that tried to get in their way as he crushed them and continued to drive without any hitch.

"Your superpowers have advanced?" Ye Xuan asked Chu Miao.

He had felt the difference in power fluctuations when he was in their house earlier but didn’t ask at the ti.

"Yes. It was an accident. I had intended to suppress it a bit longer but I got carried away researching sothing and ended up advancing without even knowing it." Chu Miao answered.

"You were indeed like a mad woman working day and night without knowing to eat or rest, how could you notice it when you advanced?" Chu Hao comnted with so helplessness.

His sister was stubborn when she set her mind to sothing. Since she had decided to research those arrays, it was like an obsession. Without results, she wouldn’t rest.

He wished she could change that habit of hers.

"Working without eating or resting? That’s not very good. You should care more about your health. Especially when everything is so chaotic and there are no hospitals to go to when you fall sick." Ye Xuan adviced as he looked at Chu Miao with concern.

"Don’t worry, my brother is just exaggerating. I am perfectly fine." Chu Miao reassured Ye Xuan.

"Of course you are fine. You slept for fifteen hours after you finished your research." Chu Hao argued.

He didn’t want his sister to take such risks that could jeopardize her health. He had decided to find soti to study those arrays or any other skill that could help his sister and prevent her from overexerting herself in the future.

"If you put in so much effort, it ans that what you were doing was important, but you need to understand that your health is more important. After all, it’s the capital you use to do everything else.

So, maybe tone it down in the future. Work in moderation and try to rest when your body needs it." Ye Xuan advised with a solemn expression.

He didn’t know what was so important that she had to neglect herself, but he thought it was better to advise her to take care of her health first.

She might not really follow the advice since her family seems to understand that she wouldn’t listen even if told to stop, but he still chose to say it anyway.

"I get it. Don’t worry, I won’t kill myself with exhaustion." Chu Miao said playfully.

"Don’t say such things."

"Spit that right now and don’t talk about death again."

Both Ye Xuan and Chu Hao reprimanded in unison. How could she talk about death so casually?

Ye Xuan didn’t want to imagine having to live a life without her even if he hadn’t known her for long. For so reason, he felt as if he had known her for a long ti, but obviously, the first ti to et her was in the elevator after the apocalypse started.

Chu Hao on the other hand was still scared by the truck accident that almost killed her. He didn’t even want to hear the word death associated with his sister.

"Alright you two. It’s just a figure of speech." Chu Miao thought that these two were too uptight. How could that take such a remark so seriously?

"Not even as a figure of speech." Ye Xuan said with so force in his voice.

It was the first ti Chu Miao had heard him talk with such command in his voice. However, she could tell that he and her brother were only concerned about her. So she compromised easily.

"Alright, I won’t talk like that." She agreed not to ntion the word ’death’ again.

"That’s good. Which building materials are we going to collect?" Ye Xuan asked as he still didn’t know where they were going.

"Precast. Many houses nowadays are built using precast materials. Even most of the fabricated houses use such materials. We are going to a factory that produces precast in the old district." Chu Miao replied.

"Are these precast materials durable?" Ye Xuan asked again.

He was concerned that they will build houses in the future using these materials but end up with inferior products.
