Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive Chapter 270: Acquiring Food in the Future
The rain outside the window was still falling like a constant curtain over the city almost in complete ruin. Grandpa Chu looked outside and used his divine sense to check what was happening. Finding that the flood water had reached the fourth floor and was faster approaching the fifth floor, he lanted at the quietly festering city.
All the glory and majesty of such a big city had been buried under water. As soone who had survived through the great war, famine, and various economic crises, he felt overwheld by the sheer destruction of the apocalypse.
He was glad that his ancestors sacrificed so much to learn about the future and made preparations by forging the soul ring. He was almost sure that after the flood and probably so other disasters, the soil would not be suitable to grow crops.
At that ti, food will beco even more scarce. They were lanting about having excess food in the soul ring but in a couple of years or even less, they might have to plow more land in the space to plant more crops.
Thinking of such a situation, they probably had to recruit so trustworthy people who can work as farrs in the space to ensure that crops are planted and harvested at the right ti. The animals would also be taken care of and their produce well handled when required.
However, at the mont, they had other things to do. Therefore, Chu Zheng stopped letting his thoughts run wild and walked to the living room to sit with the younger generation.
The Li siblings were surprised when they saw the four elders of the Chu family. They looked much younger than when they last saw them.
Grandpa Chu and the butler looked like they were in his fifties and not an old man in his seventies. Chu Mo and his wife He Yan looked like they were in their thirties. It was unscientific to age backwards the way this family had.
Indeed, the Chu family was not as simple as it looked. They had deep secrets that could cause a war to break out if exposed. The fact that they were willing to share so of these secrets with them proved that at least they had a certain level of trust in their family, which was a good thing.
If they proved to be loyal friends, they might gain more and their family could survive easily in the apocalypse.
"Hello grandpa Chu, hello grandpa Cheng, hello auntie and uncle."The three Li siblings stood up and greeted the elders together when they saw them approaching.
Although they had many thoughts in their mind, they couldn’t forget their manners.
"Hello hello...sit down. No need to stand on ceremony with grandpa." Grandpa Chu said with a hearty laugh before inviting them to sit back down.
"How is your grandfather doing?" Grandpa Chu asked again as he also took a seat in a one-seater sofa on the side.
"Grandpa is doing well. He said hello." It was Li Han who answered. He had been in business for a while and knew how to socialize with others.
"That’s good to know. When the rain stops, I have to go see him. He can’t hide forever from and not fight to test whose superpowers are stronger. I’ll see how much he has improved." Grandpa Chu didn’t forget their usual competition even in absentia.
The youngsters really couldn’t understand how these two old n lived in constant competition yet were as close as blood brothers. Their relationship was both enviable and confusing.
"How was your trip today? Did you et with any trouble?" Father Chu asked to change the subject, otherwise his father will forget their purpose and start bragging about this progress as if his friend was there.
"We got a good harvest of at today. Rember the fish we killed last ti? We got more of that , but better." Chu Miao jumped to answer her father as soon as she heard the question.
"Really? Bunny is so capable. You can lead so many soldiers to get so much at. It is good and will sustain our team’s need for at for a long ti.
When I have ti, I have to process the fish at and store it well for future use." Mother Chu praised without any reservation.
To the Chu family, Chu Miao was the best. Especially after her encounter with death and rebirth, her family had beco even more loving and indulging towards her.
She could feel it of course, and knew that they were afraid that sothing might happen to her again, but she was almost certain that she wouldn’t be dying again soon. Nevertheless, it wasn’t a bad feeling to be pampered, thus, she just enjoyed it.
"It’s a lot of at because the fish are bigger than a whale. Having over a dozen of those will indeed last our population a long ti. Adding the few that we brought back the other ti, we won’t be lacking at for a long ti.
By the way, Li pan, did you hear that? You don’t have to be frugal with food. If we run out, we can just go hunt more. I bet there are other mutated animals in the world other than rats. If we look for them, we will definitely be able to find more options for at." Chu Miao felt that she had to reassure the Li family so that they don’t worry about rationing food when they eat.
In fact, the Li family siblings were surprised to find out that there was so much at available. Also, what Chu Miao said made sense, if they ran out of at, they could always hunt for more. As long as they did not fear taking the risks, why should they ration their food for fear of having nothing to eat?
They made up their minds to eat food as normally as they would before the apocalypse.
