Chu Miao and her group walked out of the canyon and found themselves facing a long range of mountains.

Looking at the towering mountains giving off an ancient aura, she wondered whether there are ores and spirit stones they could mine in them.

She also wondered if there are other rare things inside the mountains since they were in the ancient battlefield that used to be frequented by the immortals and gods in the ancient tis.

"Let’s check if we can find sothing good in those mountains. But we have to be careful in case of danger. After all, this place ca from ancient tis." Chu Miao said to the team and everyone nodded.

Ye Xuan held Chu Miao’s hand and looked towards the mountain range curiously. He turned to look at the small tortoise squatting on his shoulder.

"Black Tortoise, do you know what this place is? You’ve been in the ancient battlefield since ancient tis, so you should know sothing, right?" Ye Xuan asked his newly contracted beast.

Lei Ying, Gu Fan, Chu Hao, Murong Yi, and the others also looked at the mountain like tortoise that had shrank itself and disguised itself to look like a small tortoise waiting for an answer.

The little tortoise blinked its beady black eyes. At first, it only raised its head slowly, as though weighing whether it should reveal the truth.

Its silence stretched long enough for everyone to start feeling as if the weight of the towering peaks was placed on them.

"This mountain range..." Black Tortoise’s voice finally echoed in their minds, low and distant like ancient bells ringing through the void.

"It is not an ordinary place. In ancient tis, this was one of the places the gods got their resources.

These mountains once nurtured veins of divine ores, spirit stones, and... other things."

"Other things?" Lei Ying frowned, his eyes squinting as he looked at the long stretches of mountains.

"You an treasures... or dangers?"

The tortoise tilted its head. "Both. Wherever the immortals dwelled, treasures were born. But where there are treasures, danger still remains.

Even after so many years, remnants of divine restrictions, formations, and sealed creatures must still be there, acting as guardians."

The words made everyone’s expressions change. So were excited , others worried. Chu Hao’s brows furrowed with caution.

Even though he always acted carefree, he was a very cautious person. The ntion of treasures didn’t cause him to lose his rationality.

Murong Yi spoke in a low voice, "If even remnants of formations still exist, we might trigger them without realizing it. This could be far more dangerous than fighting zombies in the outside world."

Even though he was always quiet, Murong Yi was still very cautious as well.

Chu Miao took in everyone’s expressions. Her own heart was calm, but her mind was as sharp as a blade.

The ancient battlefield was already abnormal. To stumble across a place once inhabited by immortals... such opportunities were rare, but equally perilous.

"We’ll proceed forward and see what we find," she decided, her tone was firm to show that she was serious.

"But no one acts rashly. If there’s danger, retreat imdiately. Treasures are valuable, but our lives are worth more."

Everyone nodded in unison.

Ye Xuan gave Chu Miao’s hand a reassuring squeeze before looking toward the mountain range again.

From this distance, the peaks seed to stretch into the heavens, cloaked in mist that shimred faintly under the sunlight. It wasn’t ordinary mist, it gave off a faint spiritual fluctuation.

As they began walking toward the mountains, the closer they got, the more dense the aura beca.

The air was charged heavily with spiritual energy so dense it made their bodies relax instinctively.

Gu Fan inhaled sharply. "This place is rich in spiritual essence. Even breathing here feels like cultivating. If there are spirit stones inside, they must be of very high quality!"

But just as he spoke, Lei Ying froze. His sharp eyes narrowed as he pointed to a nearby cliff.

"Everyone look."

Everyone followed his gaze. Half-buried within the cliffside was a massive skeleton, bleached white bones that glowed faintly.

The ribcage alone was several tis taller than a man, and its skull, cracked down the middle, carried faint traces of golden light.

Chu Hao’s voice was hoarse. "That’s... not a human."

This was the first ti they had seen sothing like that.

"No." Black Tortoise’s ntal voice vibrated through them again. "That is the remains of a divine beast. Even in death, its bones contain power.

But approach with caution. Sotis, divine remains draw the hungry... things that feed on them. But as you can see, it is still intact. So, it shows that even in death, that beast is a danger to anyone who gets close."

As if to prove the tortoise’s words, a low, heavy roar echoed from deeper in the canyon. The sound rolled through the mountains, carrying a killing intent that made their blood run cold.

Murong Yi imdiately raised his weapon. "Sothing’s coming this way!"

Chu Miao pulled out her sword and took on a battle stance, "Prepare for battle everyone."

The group had fought together a few tis and created a formation that worked best for them as a team.

They shifted into formation, each one gripping their weapons or channeling their powers. From the mist ahead, shadows began to stir.

At first, it was just one shape, a hulking figure dragging itself forward with claws like blades. But then, more erged. Grotesque creatures that looked like a fusion between zombies and ancient beasts.

Their eyes glowed with strange green light, and their bodies radiated corrupted spiritual energy.

Seeing that thing, everyone was shocked to their core. Were there zombies and mutated beasts in ancient tis?

"Spirit-corrupted beasts..." Black Tortoise muttered gravely.

"Leftovers of the ancient battlefield. They were once divine beasts that fell and were corrupted by the deathly aura here. Stronger than ordinary mutated creatures." The black tortoise was quite knowledgeable.

However, at that mont, battle strength was what they needed.

Gu Fan swallowed nervously. "And of course we have to fight such a powerful creature."

The largest of the beasts let out a piercing screech before charging, the ground trembling under its steps. It looked like it wasn’t one creature.

Chu Miao didn’t hesitate. She drew her weapon, spiritual energy swirling around her like a storm. She had just advanced to the golden core realm, so she wanted to temper her strength in this battle.

The first clash was explosive. Chu Miao’s strike cut down one beast, splitting its head clean in two, but even as it fell, its corrupted energy seeped into the earth, making the ground writhe like sothing alive.

For so reason, she thought that the beast died too easily. But now wasn’t the ti to worry about that.

Ye Xuan released his power in tandem, forming a protective barrier with his lightning power that blocked another beast’s claw from tearing into Murong Yi.

His lightning roared through the battlefield, electrifying three creatures at once, their bodies convulsing before collapsing.

But the corruption inside them resisted even lightning, after a mont, they staggered back to their feet, although weaker.

"These things won’t die easily!" Lei Ying cursed when he saw what was happening.

Chu Miao’s eyes flickered coldly . "Then strike directly at their beast cores. Look, their chests."

Indeed, faint green crystals pulsed within the beasts’ ribcages. Their corrupted cores.

"Got it!" Gu Fan’s blade slashed downward, aiming precisely for one core. With a shattering sound, the beast collapsed permanently this ti, its energy dispersing.

The battle raged on, brutal and unrelenting. The mountains echoed with roars, clashing steel, and bursts of spiritual power.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the last beast fell with a thunderous crash, its corrupted core shattered beneath Chu Hao’s strike.

"Seriously, big brother. Those beast cores are useful. Why did you shatter them? What a westral!" Chu Miao couldn’t help complaining.

Everyone was breathing hard, sweat dampening their foreheads. The corrupted energy in the air still lingered around, but the oppressive feeling had lessened.

Ye Xuan glanced around warily. "If this is just the entrance to the mountain range... what lies deeper inside?" He was starting to think whether it was a good idea to let his girlfriend and n go into those mountains.

Black Tortoise’s tiny eyes glead. "If you dare to venture further, you may find what remains of the gods’ inheritance.

But be careful when you go in. The deeper you go, the closer you co to touching secrets that even ti wished to bury."

Chu Miao tightened her grip on her weapon, her gaze fixed on the mist-wreathed mountains ahead. Her heart was steady, but there was a spark in her eyes, anticipation and resolve.

It’s already been thousands of years. So what if they uncovered so buried secrets

The group exchanged looks. Their bodies were tired, but their spirits burned even bright.

"Let’s go unearth those secrets then." Ye Xuan said once he saw Chu Miao’s expression.
