"Think about it, and while at it talk to those fighting over power to encourage the citizens to get their butts up and start fighting for their own survival. Otherwise, humanity will perish sooner than it should."

After lecturing Grandpa Li, Grandpa Chu didn’t wait for his reply and hung up the phone.

He was angry at his friend, but he also understood him. The reason he pushed his family to go out and train was because he knew that the current situation would only get worse and not better.

But many people still had hope that this was a passing virus like the mask crisis.

Unfortunately, the situation was completely different now. The world was ending and there was no turning back.

Everyone could only fight for their survival and that of their loved ones.

"Grandpa, don’t worry so much. Grandpa Li isn’t soone who doesn’t look at the bigger picture. It’s just that like everyone else, he is hoping that this situation is temporary and things will go back to normal soon.

But once he figures out that things are permanent the way they are, he will definitely be the first to chaperone his people to train." Chu Miao comforted her grandfather as she understood that he was worried about his friend and he cared about him but couldn’t do anything beyond the boundaries of their friendship.

For him to even lecture, Grandpa Li showed how frustrated he was because he wanted his friend and his family to survive.

"I know. It’s just that I am worried that by the ti they realize what is happening things will have already gone out of hand." That was indeed his worry.

Right now, his family could stay indoors and cultivate without worrying about the zombies because they had already built their strength and understood the characteristics of zombies well as well as how to deal with them.

Hence, even if the zombies beco stronger, it would not challenge their safety because they are also increasing their strength.

But other people who have not even dealt with a single zombie were different. Most of them would probably freeze in place if they encountered a zombie, and what awaited them was death.

It was for this reason that he hoped the governnt would communicate with the citizens and advise them to go out and fight.

This way, they will get used to the presence of zombies and won’t die in vain because they are too scared to move.

On Grandpa Li’s side, their family occupied two floors in their building. All the family mbers were now gathered in one living room on the sixteenth floor.

They looked at each other with complicated expressions. So felt indignant, others were relieved. It was a mix of emotions.

All these were caused by one phone call. When Grandpa Chu called and started scolding him, Grandpa Li was actually happy. He knew that talking to his daughters-in-law about what was happening was difficult and they took his warnings lightly.

But if soone else with authority gave the sa speech, it might have a different effect. That’s why when Grandpa Chu started his word tirade, he put the phone on speaker.

So everyone in the living room heard every word that was said. Including Grandpa Chu calling them burdens who would pull the rest of the family down or stating that they might starve to death just because they couldn’t go out and fight zombies.

"How could General Chu say sothing so an? What does he an that we would pull all of you back just because we don’t go out and fight? Can’t we just stay at ho and not cause trouble?" The so-called pampered daughter-in-law started to complain.

General Li didn’t even get to say anything when the woman’s son, Li Kian, a soldier, replied to her with the blunt truth.

"He is right. What do you think will happen if, for so reason, we can’t occupy these apartnts anymore and need to move sowhere else?"

"Why would we need to move? These apartnts belong to us. We can stay here as long as we want." She retorted to her son without thinking.

"Really? The villa we lived in belongs to us too, why don’t we stay there? Why did we have to move here?" He shot back.

Li Kian could usually indulge his mother and let her do whatever she wanted, but Grandpa Chu’s lecture was a wake-up call. How could they still be so complacent in this world that is already collapsing? His mother could no longer be indulged.

Before he could convince his mother, his sister took the lead to agree with Grandpa Chu.

"From tomorrow, I will follow you to train. Those zombies are disgusting, yes, but I don’t want to end up as the food in the belly of a monster that can even think when I have a fully functional brain."

When the family heard what she said, everyone turned to look at her, surprised.

She had been raised by her mother as a delicate young lady who couldn’t even clean a cup. But she was now stating that she would go hunt zombies. This was indeed a shock and not just a surprise.

"Don’t look at like that. I am already twenty years old, two years older than Chu Miao, but she can go out and kill zombies, why can’t I?

I have both arms and feet, and I could outthink a zombie, so why am I staying at ho and waiting for my family to protect ? If sothing like what Grandpa Chu said happens, God forbid, what will I do?

Will I wait to starve to death? Or sell myself as a way to survive?"

"Little Pan, how could you say sothing so deaning about yourself? As your mother, I would protect you before I let you do sothing so disgraceful." The pampered daughter-in-law said with a high-pitched voice.

It was obvious that her daughter’s analogy had startled her.
