"That will do. We will rest there for a couple of hours and recover. Then co back down and deal with these monsters." Chu Miao said as she moved even closer to Ye Xuan.

"Fight while moving towards that building. Stop when we get ten ters away from it." Chu Miao said and Ye Xuan started moving in that direction without asking questions.

Chu Miao was again stunned by his lack of suspicion. Or maybe he had his suspicions but chose to respect her privacy and didn’t ask.

No matter the reason, she was grateful for his understanding and her impression of him improved another notch.

When they were ten ters away from the target building, Ye Xuan stopped moving forward and focused on killing zombies on the spot.

All of a sudden, a small hand grabbed him, and he felt a wave of dizziness before his eyes and mind cleared. He found himself standing on the roof of a building.

He looked around him and a shock he hadn’t experienced before hit him. They had teleported.

He knew the concept of teleportation but that was all it was. Even researchers, after spending tons of money and ti resources to research the concept, have not made any progress.

It was amazing that he got to experience it in the apocalypse.

"Do you have any crystal cores?" Chu Miao, seeing him looking so surprised, smiled to herself. It was rare to see a different expression on his face other than indifference.

Coming back to his senses, Ye Xuan replied affirmatively. "Yes, I do have so crystal cores with ."

"Good, sit down and cultivate to recover. We can go down in two hours." She instructed and found a spot to sit down. She didn’t care about the dirt as she was already covered in zombies’ rotten flesh and blood.

"Okay." Ye Xuan sat next to her and took out five crystal cores from his pocket. He also took the mutant rat crystal core and offered it to Chu Miao.

"Why are you giving that?" She really wanted it as it would help her recover her spiritual energy since she could not enter the space to cultivate and could not use the demonic beast cores inside.

All she had to rely on was the spring water and it would take a while to recover completely simply relying on it.

"I feel you need it more than I do." Ye Xuan replied. He had seen her using sothing similar to cultivate in his dreams, which was why he asked her about the mutated rat crystal core.

Chu Miao looked at him in silence for a while before taking the crystal core and closing her eyes. "Thank you." She uttered before starting to cultivate.

"You are welco." Ye Xuan replied as he looked at her hand holding the crystal core.

He was right indeed, she needed it.

He had felt that the energy she used to teleport them to the roof was different from the energy of superpower ability.

He didn’t know what energy that was, but he presud it was related to the fog. His assumptions about her being connected to the apocalypse were further confird.

He didn’t pry into her privacy. If one day she wanted to tell him the truth, then he would be happy to listen.

Having thought of this, he stopped looking at her, closed his eyes, and started to cultivate.

Chu Miao had actually not started cultivating imdiately after closing her eyes. She was just pretending and was observing Ye Xuan’s reaction.

When he offered the mutated rat’s crystal core and made that comnt about her needing it more, she knew he had noticed sothing.

But to her astonishnt, he didn’t ask any questions or show any signs of greed. She used her divine sense to observe him and apart from showing an expression of concern and understanding, no other expression could be seen.

He was not greedy for the power that could help to teleport or anything else. She had a new level of respect for him.

In the apocalypse, having more power ans having an extra lifeline, but finding soone who does not covet this kind of power is rare.

She could consider befriending him and having a closer relationship.

After sorting out her thoughts, she emptied her mind, regulated her breathing, and started to cultivate.

The door that led to the rooftop was locked and zombies could not co up. Moreover, they could not climb on the wall. So, this place was completely safe and they could cultivate and recover without any worry.

If Chu Miao was wary before and was planning on cultivating while leaving a part of her divine sense to observe the surroundings and guard against Ye Xuan, now she didn’t have that concern and completely imrsed herself in cultivation.

Ye Xuan was never worried about anything and was not guarded against Chu Miao from the start.
