After a walk through the comrcial district, Paige Sumrs discovered that Central City was different from The Dead City. Weapon regulations here weren’t as strict as she’d imagined; instead, dicine was taken very seriously. This got her thinking. To avoid being targeted, it was best to scrap her and Levi Young’s initial plan of earning Credit Points through dicine. Making a play in the weapons market would be better.

But weapons weren’t so easy to sell either.

First, she’d need to rent a shop.

That would require a huge amount of Credit Points.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t use Crystal Cores, but it just wasn’t cost-effective.

So, whether she could even rent a place was a secondary problem. The top priority was earning enough Credit Points.

Peddling weapons around like cheap goods wasn’t her style. She set her sights on the Pathfinder Rats.

The Pathfinder Rat was just a small gadget, but after looking all over the market, she hadn’t seen anything like it.

Plus, although the main component—the detector—wasn’t cheap, it was available on the market. She was confident in her Artifact Making skills; the Pathfinder Rat would definitely sell for a much higher price!

This was a way to raise funds.

However, she didn’t plan on revealing her whole plan to the others just yet. She just said simply that she was going to make a few Pathfinder Rats to sell.

Claire Chapman was noncommittal after hearing this.

Paige Sumrs understood what he was thinking. "I can make the Pathfinder Rats, but how to sell them, who should sell them, whether to use consignnt or so other thod... We’re new here. If we rashly try to sell sothing, there’s no telling if people will even go for it... To be honest, it’s just an idea at this point."

Claire Chapman disagreed. "Good products will naturally find buyers who recognize their value! You were so confident a mont ago, why lose your nerve all of a sudden?!"

Paige Sumrs smiled. ’That’s exactly what I was waiting for you to say!’

"But Andy and I aren’t good at this sort of thing, so..."

With her words hanging in the air, the intelligent Claire Chapman imdiately understood her intentions.

He picked up the thread, amused. "Alright, I get it. Leave it to . But let’s get this straight upfront—business is business. We’ll split the profits 30-70. I’ll take thirty, you all take seventy!"

Paige Sumrs nodded in agreent.

She found Claire Chapman’s temperant to be excellent—he spoke plainly and wasn’t pretentious in the slightest.

And so, the two of them had a deal.

In this matter, Levi Young was really just involved in na only.

Paige Sumrs told him privately that she hoped he would focus all his energy on his energy experints for the ti being.

After all, they didn’t have much gasoline saved up. Whether they were running errands or going out to hunt, their vehicle was indispensable, and the expense was enormous.

If this research succeeded, they would be the first to benefit imnsely!

Most importantly, if the energy conversion was successful, it could surely be used for more than just vehicles!

Levi Young, naturally, had no objections.

Having finally found a quiet environnt, he also hoped to settle down and focus on his research.

As for the Forrest Siblings, they hadn’t found a suitable mission yet. Fortunately, they had so savings, so they didn’t have to worry about their livelihood for the ti being.

After discussing it, Claire Chapman and Paige Sumrs felt the two were still useful, so they brought them along for any errands that needed running. They planned to give them a share of the benefits once things were settled.

Claire Chapman wasn’t old, but he was very reliable. He took on the task of purchasing the detectors himself. He spent a day hanging around the comrcial district and ca back the next day with five units, all without spending a single Crystal Core.

"I just used Crystal Cores as collateral. The shop owner has a great reputation. He’s extrely interested in the Pathfinder Rats and promised that if we let him be the sole distributor, he’ll only take a ten percent commission. Plus, he’ll give us the detectors at cost! He’ll also sign a confidentiality agreent and keep his mouth shut about where they ca from!"

In truth, the Pathfinder Rats wouldn’t be cheap, so a ten percent commission was quite substantial. But given that they were starting with nothing, for the owner to make so many promises was already very generous.

Paige Sumrs could only nod.

She had other materials left over, all stored in her space, so she imdiately set about making them.

Her life seed to have returned to how it was when she made Crossbows in The Dead City. Apart from her ti spent on Cultivation at night, every mont was dedicated to her work.

She was extrely focused at tis like this.

But the Pathfinder Rats were no simpler to make than the Crossbows. By the ti all five were finished, a full ten days had passed.

Claire Chapman thought for a mont, but only took two with him when he left.

"Rarity creates value. Let’s test the waters first," he said.

With that business settled and everyone having so free ti, going hunting outside the city was once again put on the agenda.

One day, Claire Chapman returned, having accepted a mission in high spirits.
