"Wow, Zhang Su, this knife looks great, can I use it?"
In Zhang Su’s bedroom, Zheng Xinyu drew out a knife that sowhat resembled a boorang from its sheath, looking it over from every angle.
The sharp blade was like a mirror, reflecting the sunlight streaming into the room, while the heavy blade’s back gave a reliable and steady feeling of trust.
"You’ve really got an eye..."
At this mont, in Zhang Su’s eyes, Zheng Xinyu had changed a bit from before. Above her head floated three labels.
[Big Head] [No Decision] [Good Fortune]
After acquiring the special ability Insight Label, Zhang Su imdiately used it on Zheng Xinyu, gaining a better understanding of this girl through the labels.
Though ’Big Head’ and ’No Decision’ seed like negative labels at first glance, Zhang Su didn’t necessarily see them that way.
Having no decision is better than having bias—after all, bias is scarier than ignorance. A person without decision tends to be more obedient, at least that’s how she had been behaving.
Big Head in the past wasn’t considered good, it implied being a bit reckless, but in the present-day zombie apocalypse, being bold is better than cowardly!
Zhang Su would rather team up with soone who’s bold, follows commands, than with a cautious and cowardly person full of sches.
A loyal soldier.
This was Zhang Su’s summary of Zheng Xinyu, and thinking about past situations, it seed to fit her labels well.
Zhang Su was quite satisfied with this special ability; although it didn’t directly enhance combat strength or provide resources, having a clear understanding of soone really mattered in this chaotic world.
He believed that in the future, he wouldn’t be struggling alone in the post-apocalypse, and if he had to interact with others, knowing them inside out would be crucial. If he saw a label like ’Natural Rebel,’ it would be like saving a life...
After using the Insight Label on Zheng Xinyu, Zhang Su also tried using it on himself in front of the mirror, but with no effect. He actually wanted to have so insight into himself, because he felt he didn’t know himself well enough.
"Co on, what does this have to do with having an eye! Clearly, this knife is much better than a baseball bat and a big wrench..."
Zheng Xinyu looked at Zhang Su with a strange expression, and there was only a half-ter-long wrench left in the box.
"What’s wrong with the big wrench, it’s also a specially made weapon, right! The one you’re holding is a kukri, the most expensive piece in the box."
Zhang Su flicked the blade of the kukri in Zheng Xinyu’s hand, producing a pleasant hum.
The blade was made of L6 Bainite Steel, showing outstanding performance in hardness, shock resistance, and toughness.
"The most expensive, huh? Why does it have such a terrible na, kukri... but it doesn’t matter, expensive is good, I’ll use this knife!"
Upon hearing it was quite costly, Zheng Xinyu suddenly felt the knife in her hand beco lighter. Just as she was about to stand up and try swinging it, Zhang Su took the knife from her.
"This knife is not for you!"
Zhang Su carefully inserted the knife back into its sheath and pointed to the baseball bat lying nearby: "At your current level, honestly, you should use a baseball bat. Using the kukri is no different from suicide. Honestly, when dealing with zombies, I think blunt weapons are pretty good, or you can stab with sothing sharp like a short spear!"
Thinking about the previous thrilling mont when an axe got stuck in a zombie’s skull, it was a lesson learned for Zhang Su.
"The kukri is for dealing with humans!"
As he said this, Zhang Su patted the knife sheath.
"Oh, alright..." Zheng Xinyu agreed sowhat dazedly. She didn’t really understand, but felt Zhang Su seed to have a point.
"If only we could make a trip to Yi Rewen... there are so great things there!"
Zhang Su pouted sowhat dejectedly; most of his weapon collection was at the convenience store.
"Isn’t this axe a good piece?"
Zheng Xinyu pointed to the axe hamr nearby.
Zhang Su picked up the axe beside him and examined it. The dark axe hamr, crafted from T10 tool steel, was indeed made from excellent material, though after the recent battle, it had sustained so minor wear. Despite being wiped down, faint traces still lingered, recording the intense, brief fight just now.
"It seems quite sturdy. If it were just a battle of that intensity... Forget about researching it now, Xinyu, you threw up lunchti, do you want to eat sothing else?"
After hearing Zheng Xinyu’s stomach growl, Zhang Su asked.
Zheng Xinyu touched her stomach, shook her head, and said, "I am hungry, but I don’t have an appetite, maybe later."
"Alright!" Zhang Su glanced at the ti, it was three in the afternoon, not far from dinner. Usually, around this ti, he would be getting ready to take over shift at the convenience store, but now he was stuck at ho, unable to go anywhere.
"Since we have this ti, we might as well... Huh?"
Zhang Su intended to get Xinyu to exercise a bit, a genuine workout to strengthen body and mind, when suddenly there was a sound of knocking.
Knock, knock, knock, knock.
The gentle knocking didn’t resemble zombies’ aggressive pounding.
Zhang Su and Xinyu exchanged a glance, simultaneously picking up their weapons and heading to the door. He peered through the peephole for a look, and his mouth couldn’t help but twitch.
At that mont, apartnt 802’s door was opened a crack, the zombie blocking the door pushed aside, and a woman with a mask and sunglasses stood at the door, occasionally glancing left and right, her body trembling all over.
"The woman from next door!"
Zhang Su turned to Zheng Xinyu, frowning.
Zheng Xinyu made an awkward expression, offering no opinion.
"H-hello, I am your neighbor from 802 across the hall, can I say a word?"
Seeming to sense soone inside, the woman outside leaned closer to the door gap, speaking in a soft voice, "I have no water or network at ho, could I borrow a phone? What on earth are those monsters, do you know?"
"Please, just say sothing, hello, I won’t borrow the phone for free, I can pay..."
Zhang Su shook his head at Zheng Xinyu, then quietly stepped back a few steps, and the two of them returned to the bedroom, closing the door behind them.
"Why? Is there sothing wrong with that woman?"
Zheng Xinyu asked in confusion. If those who greeted them from Building Four earlier couldn’t communicate for being too far away, the woman at a door distance should have been able to exchange a few words.
Zhang Su shrugged noncommittally, leaning against the bed, "Regardless of whether there’s an issue, I feel there’s no need to open the door. We can’t offer her any help, and there’s nothing she can assist us with either!"
"That’s true..."
Zheng Xinyu nodded silently. It was only now she understood that Zhang Su took her along not because she was particularly attractive or because he was overly kind-hearted or benevolent; it was only because they happened to be under the sa roof...
Thinking of this, Xinyu asked mysteriously: "Zhang Su, if—I’m saying if—I were surrounded by zombies, and you had a chance to save but it was dangerous, would you save ?"
Zhang Su glanced at Zheng Xinyu sideways, having gone through many girlfriends, he had heard a myriad of quirky questions, and this wasn’t the most outrageous.
"You won are really sothing, asking who to save first if soone falls in the river when there’s nothing going on, and now these kinds of silly and childish questions. Instead of doing this, why not think about why you missed the shot just now!"
"I..."
"You what? If it weren’t for pulling the zombie towards us by over ten centiters, do you think you could have aid so accurately? Don’t flatter yourself, young lady, wake up!"
While talking, Zhang Su shook his head and stood up, walking towards the window. He knew very well that the reason Zheng Xinyu could hit the zombie’s head likely had a lot to do with [Good Fortune]...
