In the underground parking lot, the double flash lights were like a person’s breath, switching between light and darkness as if toggling between the mortal world and hell. You could only see things clearly during the brief monts the flash lights were on, while in the darkness, you either had to stop or rely on mory to move forward.

Zhang Su instinctively wanted to turn on his flashlight, but in the end, he decided against it.

Zombies wouldn’t actively attack light sources, but there was still so risk. Mainly, he felt there might be other survivors in the underground parking lot, and if they saw him, it could lead to unnecessary entanglents!

"Let’s go!"

Zhang Su took the lead, with an ax hamr in his right hand and a kukri in his left, cautiously sticking to the wall, moving toward the area beneath Building No. 3. He was quite familiar with the underground parking lot, and with the distant double flash of cars, he wouldn’t get lost.

The others followed closely behind Zhang Su according to the prearranged order.

As Zhang Su had anticipated, most of the zombies in the parking lot beneath Buildings 3 and 4 had been lured away by the Duan Brothers, leaving only a few zombies wandering among the cars. Yet, even so, they still posed a significant obstacle to the group.

Along the unavoidable path, two zombies were wandering back and forth with sluggish steps, moving slowly and appearing peaceful, but all this tranquility would vanish into wild chaos the mont they sensed living beings, transforming into bloodthirsty monsters.

"We need to lure them away!"

Behind the wall, Zhang Su whispered to the others in a voice as soft as a mosquito.

Zhong Xiaoshan took out a key from her pocket and shook it, suggesting that the car alarm sound could draw the zombies away.

Zhang Su shook his head decisively. If the Haranda made a sound, zombies from all directions would surely gather under Building No. 3, and that would be a disaster!

"Let’s stick with the old thod!"

Zhang Su sheathed the kukri, took a mobile phone from his bag, carefully shielding the light, turned on the sound, brought up the countdown page, pondered for a mont, and finally set a five-second countdown. Then he showed it to the others behind him.

The ssage was clear: prepare to move in five seconds!

Seeing everyone nod in agreent, Zhang Su took a deep breath, selected a target, pressed the start button, and when the countdown showed 00:04, he hurled the phone away.

The phone’s screen emitted a gentle glow, tracing a powerful arc through the air, like a teor flashing across the night sky, flying toward a cluster of vehicles.

Beep beep beep, beep beep beep, beep beep beep!

The phone flew through the air, the countdown ended, emitting a series of urgent beeps that pierced through the quiet, expansive parking lot with strong penetrative force.

Thud.

The phone crashed onto a car’s trunk, the tal providing so cushioning, yet the beeping remained loud after it hit the ground.

Howl! Howl!

Howls from zombies arose from all directions, frantically charging toward the phone’s direction, followed by the sound of nurous collisions. The foolish zombies had no idea how to avoid the cars, crashing straight into them...

The zombies blocking Zhang Su and the others were naturally also lured away. Just as he was about to lead the group forward, an engine roar suddenly erupted.

Vroom vroom, vroom!

Next to the phone’s landing spot, an SUV unexpectedly roared to life, followed by the sound of screeching tires, sharp and piercing!

The Aicha Sanwu rushed out of the parking space in an exceptionally violent manner, driving madly toward the parking lot exit.

Qin Ya, seated at the driver’s seat, had a twisted expression and thought to himself, "Zhang Su, Zhang Su, you’ve really put in a tough spot!"

Others might not know, but he was almost certain the one using a phone to lure the zombies was Zhang Su, as the trick was very familiar!

Qin Ya previously suspected Zhang Su’s group was hiding in apartnt 302. Based on his instincts as a special police officer, he thought it was highly likely Zhang Su would follow him...

He had always intended to recruit Zhang Su’s group to leave together, so he was waiting in the parking lot, estimating Zhang Su would appear soon.

Sure enough, Zhang Su showed up, and even gave him a present!

"I hope it’s not Officer Qin... whoever’s unlucky enough."

Zhang Su was unaware of Qin Ya’s complex thoughts. He stepped out from behind the wall, looking at the Aicha Sanwu speeding away and the zombies chasing after it, nodding in satisfaction.

"It’s much safer now, but stay vigilant. Move fast!"

After speaking, he sprinted toward where his van was parked.

Soon, Zhang Su found his beloved van, opened the door, tossed his bag onto the passenger seat, and leaped inside.

"Where’s my car... there."

In the darkness, Zhong Xiaoshan montarily couldn’t find her car. In her urgency, she quickly pressed the car key, realizing it was not far away. The three of them got in one after another and clumsily began fastening their seatbelts.

The van was only three or four spaces away from the Haranda, and Zhang Su could hear their muttering inside the vehicle, knowing they were ready. Thus, he decisively turned on the car lights.

"Let’s go, baby!"

With that, while fastening his seatbelt, Zhang Su turned the key, and a series of sputtering ignition sounds ensued, causing cold sweat to break out.

The engine didn’t start...

"Damn it, could the battery be dead?"

The mini-van was due for a new battery the last ti it was serviced, but Zhang Su kept putting it off, planning to endure one more year before replacing the car entirely. Yet, it failed him at this crucial mont.

Zhang Su glanced towards the parking lot exit, where zombies were running out in clusters, clearly indicating that the Aicha Sanwu had already left the parking lot. He had to act fast!

Nearby, the Haranda’s lights were on, shuddering as it successfully started.

Zhang Su felt frustrated, not because he couldn’t afford a nicer car, but because the van offered better value for money. If he knew it would co to this, he would have souped up a Raptor!

Rumble rumble.

While twisting the key, Zhang Su stomped the gas pedal, muttering, "Co on, baby, finish this job and I’ll let you retire, alright? C’mon, don’t let down!"

As if hearing Zhang Su’s promise, the spark plugs finally ignited the engine successfully.

Vroom, vroom!

The 1.5-liter engine roared mightily.

"Hahaha!"

Zhang Su let out a crazed laugh, shifted gears, stepped on the gas, and shot out of the parking space, making a fierce turn towards the exit. The mini-van was driven with the flair of a racing 86.

The Haranda, although much more luxurious than the mini-van, was far from poised, appearing twisted like a sprinter with a sprained ankle, eager to speed up but unable to do so.

"Hurry, hurry, faster."

Inside the Haranda, Zhong Xiaoshan muttered nervously, gripping the steering wheel tightly with her eyes fixed on the van’s half-lit rear lights, pressing both the accelerator and the brake, employing every bit of her driving skills.

In the front passenger seat, Zheng Xinyu’s lips were tightly pursed, eyes filled with terror akin to when she first saw zombies. Her left hand clutched the center console while the right hand gripped the handle above the door, toes stiff with tension.

In the back seat, Wang Guangjun sat in the middle, strapped with two seat belts, leaning against the seatback with eyes closed, repeatedly chanting, "Amitabha."
