"Xuexue!" Xiang i cried out the second she saw Bai Xue open the door; she threw herself in Bai Xue’s arms and sighed in relief. There was no denying the fact that she was quite relieved to see Bai Xue.
"ii, are you alright?" though Bai Xue was filled with disgust, she still allowed the woman to hug her. However, she pulled away quickly when Xiang i was not paying attention.
Xiang i wiped the tears that were hanging on her lashes and replied in a sobbing voice, "How can I be alright? You already know the situation outside; it’s terrible. I really thought that I was going to die."
First, the entire city was engulfed with water. They didn’t even get enough ti to calm down when the mutated rats appeared followed by the zombies. It was such a disgusting and scary sight that Xiang i still felt her entire body trembling.
Fortunately, she sohow managed to survive or else—she gulped harshly before raising her head and looking around the house. She asked, "Xuexue, do you have so water? We are really thirsty; it has been more than three days since we drank clean water."
Bai Xue’s eyes flashed with annoyance when she heard Xiang i ask for water. She sighed and shook her head before saying to Xiang i, "How can I have enough supplies? My family is in trouble as well. Though Brother Feng went to find so supplies, I don’t know if he can find so."
After she finished speaking, she sighed and spoke in a heavy voice, "If only sister Yueyue—" She stopped herself just in ti, as if she said sothing she was not supposed to say.
"What about Bai iyue?" Xiang i was Bai Xue’s good friend; thus, even though she knew that Bai iyue was the victim rather than the culprit, she still didn’t like the woman.
Xiang i pursed her lips and asked, "Did that woman co to bully you again? I am telling you, Xuexue. Now that the situation is like this, you should ignore that woman and leave her to fend for herself. She will certainly co here and beg for supplies from you, so make sure that you avoid her at all costs!"
Now that she was living with Bai Xue, Xiang i knew that her interests were closely tied to Bai Xue. She not only had to please this woman but she also had to closely monitor her. If she gave away supplies to unnecessary people, then Xiang i would also suffer as well!
As she spoke, she didn’t forget to remind Bai Xue of the things that Bai iyue had done and said to her in a calm voice, "Don’t forget, Xuexue. It was because of Bai iyue that you were locked up in the prison cell."
When Bai Xue heard Xiang i’s words, her face twitched slightly. She sighed and said to Xiang i, "I don’t think that sister Yueyue needs our supplies or help. I heard that she has quite a lot of supplies in her hands."
As soon as she finished speaking, the many people who ca with Xiang i paused and looked at one another. It didn’t take long before soone in the crowd asked,
"Where does she live?"
"Humm?" Bai Xue turned her head to one side with an innocent expression on her face. "Are you talking about Sister Yueyue? She lives in apartnt number 5003, why?"
"Achoo!" Bai iyue sneezed. She raised her hand and rubbed her nose before turning to look at her brothers. "Let’s go to the farr’s market first. We will try to look for so rice and grains, if possible, let’s try to find so seeds as well."
She bought enough seeds before the end of the world but she needed an excuse to present those seeds in front of her mother. There was no choice; with how her mother was behaving, if she found out that Bai iyue had enough supplies, she would barricade the door of the house with concrete.
Bai Zhan and Bai Jixuan nodded. They had nothing against their sister’s suggestion but —
Bai Jixuan turned to look at Lei Yan and asked, "Are you alright with it?"
"Yeah, let’s go." Lei Yan also wanted to get so vegetables and fruits. There was no other choice. Though Lei Yan liked at, she knew that they needed vegetables and fruits for fibre as well.
After the destination was decided, their small group got into the two SUVs and then drove to the farr’s market. The water had gone down by many levels; now the street was covered with a thin film of ice. They had to slow down and drive carefully, as they didn’t want to crash in a ditch.
Soon, they arrived at the farr’s market. Compared to the hustle and bustle of the past, it was completely deserted.
"Be careful," Bai iyue glanced at her two brothers before leaving the car. "Though it’s really quiet, we can never be sure of anything. What if zombies are lurking inside the building? So don’t rush inside without checking out."
"We got it." Bai Zhan nodded and turned to look at Bai Jixuan, who raised his eyebrows. He said in an offended voice, "I know this much!"
Bai Zhan snorted. He knew that his brother knew that much but he also knew that Bai Jixuan was an adrenaline junkie. He was impulsive and careless at tis and this was the reason why Bai Zhan was more worried about Bai Jixuan than Bai iyue.
"Be careful and stay behind ," Bai Zhan said to Bai Jixuan sternly, who pouted but didn’t refuse.
One by one, the group stepped out of the two vehicles and headed inside the farr’s market.
"Lets separate," Yun Chuan looked at Bai iyue and the rest before saying, "There is no point in staying together in a group. It will only slow us down. I think its better if half of the people go and collect vegetables while the others should go to the fruit section. The rest can go and collect the seeds; what do you say?"
