When Bai iyue woke up, the sky had turned dark. She squinted and opened her eyes before turning to look at the clock. It was six in the evening. She yawned and sat up straight on the bed. Now that she had woken up, Bai iyue could hear the sound of laughter and chatter from the living room.
Listening to the sounds, she wondered if she had turned montarily deaf. If not, how could she sleep through this noise? She arched her hands over her head and then went to take a bath. The weather had turned colder and nothing felt better than taking a dip in the warm water; of course, Bai iyue didn’t dare to stay too long in the water for fear of catching a cold.
As a pregnant woman, she couldn’t take dicines without worrying about the side effects.
After taking a bath, she pulled on a long warm sweater and tucked the cage of the pheasants under the bed. Of course she didn’t forget to take so beef jerky from her space pocket and feed it to Ciyi. The little pup was still a bit sick and even though Bai iyue had done her best to save her life, Ciyi was yet to recover her energetic side.
Seeing the little pup whimpering in her cage as she tried her best to stay away from the jerky, Bai iyue sighed and rubbed the furry little head. It seed like Ciyi was still traumatised by what happened to her.
"Its okay, its okay. I will protect you from now on, no one will hurt you," Bai iyue felt her eyes sting when she saw Ciyi like this. She promised herself that she would find Ciyi and bring her to her side. But she was still a step too late.
When she went to the pet shop, Ciyi was taken away and she had no idea who bought her and the owner of the shop refused to disclose the identity of the owner. Bai iyue always thought that her friend actually bought Ciyi but turned out that this pup was actually a rescue dog.
Looking at the shivering little thing, Bai iyue sighed and brought her to her lap. She hugged and coaxed the little pup for a long ti only then did the little pup calm down and take a bite of the jerky. But with each bite, she paused and shrunk her neck before taking a peek at Bai iyue.
It was as if she was worried that Bai iyue would hit her if she was to eat another bite.
Seeing Ciyi like this, Bai iyue cursed her previous owner. Who knows what kind of beast that person was? Bai iyue hoped that she would never run into that person or else!
She waited until Ciyi was calm enough to sleep on her own and then tucked her carefully in the small bed that was made of warm blankets. Bai iyue waited for a few seconds, but when she saw that Ciyi was not waking up anymore, she heaved a sigh and got up from the floor.
With her feet padding across the carpeted floor, she headed outside the room.
Bai iyue walked just outside the room and saw Mother Lei sitting in the living room along with Mother Bai. The two won were talking about sothing and seed quite relaxed and happy. Next to them, her two nephews were playing with so new toys that she hadn’t seen before. Most likely they were brought over by Lei Qian.
Bai iyue looked at the hustle and bustle for a while before turning around and heading back to her room. She didn’t want to join in the fun, even though she knew that the woman sitting next to her mother was Lei Qian’s mother; she had no thoughts about flattering Mother Lei.
Maybe she would look for sothing to eat in her space pocket. There was enough food stored in there and even if she took out a few bowls to eat, the food wouldn’t run out.
However, just as she turned around on her feet, she ran into Lei Qian, who was coming out of the restroom.
"Hi?" he raised his hand and smiled when he saw Bai iyue walking towards her room.
"What are you doing here?" Bai iyue asked with a raised brow.
"My mom is getting depressed after being cooped up in the house for so long," Lei Qian walked over to Bai iyue’s side with a flattering smile. He said to her, "She has been complaining about having nothing to do for quite so ti, so I thought it was better for her to stay with your mother. If she has a friend, my mother will feel a bit at ease."
What Lei Qian didn’t tell Bai iyue was that he was worried that he wouldn’t be allowed to step inside the Bai family and had to pull the big guns out.
Bai Jixuan’s attitude was quite clear; he didn’t like him and neither did he want Lei Qian to approach his sister. Even Bai iyue’s attitude towards him was unclear. Experience tales at .Côm
Lei Qian didn’t want his pursuit to hit a dead end. Thus, he had had no choice but to beg his mother to befriend Mother Bai. If the two families beca close, then Lei Qian didn’t have to worry about not being able to enter the doorstep of the Bai family.
Fortunately for him, his mother also understood his predicant and was willing to help him out.
Mother Bai was also a simple and honest woman. Thus, the two won soon hit it off.
Of course he wouldn’t tell Bai iyue the level to which he had stooped to chase after her, lest the woman find him even more annoying.
Bai iyue didn’t say anything; she simply glanced at the man as if she could see that he was lying but was too tired to point it out. She simply turned on her feet and headed inside her room when Lei Qian chased after her.
