Jiang Haidai lowered her head and looked down at her son. Her eyes turned red and tears started to brim in them. She rubbed the head of her filial son and said to him, "Mother is not hungry, Guo Guo. You can drink this milk."
However, ng Guo didn't pull the milkbox away from her lips. In the end, Jiang Haidai had no choice but to pretend as if she had taken a sip of the milk. "It's quite yummy, Guo Guo. You should drink more."
Only then did ng Guo take the milk box away and start sipping the milk happily.
When Jiang Haidai saw her son finally eat sothing, her tears couldn't be stopped anymore. She thanked Bai iyue before tearing small pieces of bun and feeding them to her son.
Even though Jiang Haidai didn't know a lot of things, she knew that these little supplies were not as cheap as they were once in the past. They were more valuable than gold. Bai iyue didn't say anything but Jiang Haidai didn't need her to tell.
After seeing the ruthlessness of the ng family in the past few days, she understood the importance of a good al and water. Those beasts in the ng family even snatched the bottle of milk that she had saved for her son.
They have been starving for so long that Jiang Haidai even forgot when was the last ti she had a good al. She and her son took small bites of the jerky and buns, as if they were afraid that the buns would disappear too quickly. Once they were half full, Jiang Haidai placed the rest of the jerky in her bag.
The buns cannot be kept as they would go bad in a day or two but the jerky could last a bit longer. Jiang Haidai didn't live in the apocalyptic world twice like Bai iyue but she still understood so things.
In the last days, the ones who were in the most vulnerable position were won, elderly and children. Since they couldn't help the team with anything, they only got a small portion of the supplies.
However, Bai iyue gave them a big bag of jerky and buns when ng Guo's father himself didn't think twice before stealing food from his son. In Jiang Haidai's heart, Bai iyue's position was not less than the heavenly immortal. When she and her son were in trouble, it was Bai iyue who ca and helped them. If she hadn't saved the two of them, who knows what might have happened to them?
Even if Bai iyue was unkind towards her and didn't treat her warmly, Jiang Haidai didn't bla her nor did she hold Bai iyue accountable for her sufferings. Bai iyue had shown extre kindness to her son and that was enough for Jiang Haidai.
After all, as a mother, she only hoped that her child would get the best. Whoever was kind towards her children, Jiang Haidai would be kind towards them.
Just these supplies that Bai iyue had given to her son were enough for Jiang Haidai to admire Bai iyue.
Bai iyue had no idea what was going on in Jiang Haidai's mind. She went to look for the sleeping bag in her SUV and brought it back. When she saw that ng Guo was already asleep in the lap of his mother, Bai iyue handed the sleeping bag to Jiang Haidai.
"Take this and sleep inside the house," she told the woman. Though this farmhouse was big, there were only a few beds, and most of them were already occupied at the mont.
"No, no..how can I take this? We have already troubled you and your team enough." Jiang Haidai waved her hand. "I can carry him."
"Take it." Bai iyue thrust the sleeping bag in Jiang Haidai's hand and said to her, "You need to care about yourself as well. Your son is not the only one who needs your care. Your unborn child also needs it."
"If you don't sleep and tire yourself, it will affect your pregnancy. What's more, only after you have recovered your strength can you fight zombies and protect your son."
After Bai iyue finished speaking, she turned around on her feet and walked away without wasting any more words; she had said what needed to be said, and Bai iyue didn't want to waste any more ti.
Even though Bai iyue hated weakness, she had a soft spot for children and won. After all, she had once gone through the sa things that Jiang Haidai was going through at the mont. Back then, when she was in a desperate situation, Bai iyue also hoped that soone would show her a little kindness.
No one helped her back then but that didn't an that she should also turn a blind eye to the sufferings of another woman.
Jiang Haidai could feel Bai iyue's concern and kindness. When was the last ti soone had given her such warmth? Jiang Haidai couldn't even rember. She hugged her son and slowly got to her feet to unfurl the sleeping bag.
On the other side, Lu Yin was handing a bottle of water to Lei Qian. Even though Bai iyue couldn't hear what the two of them were talking about, just seeing the enthusiastic look on Lu Yin's face was enough to annoy her.
Of course, since Bai iyue noticed her, Lu Yin also noticed Bai iyue. She turned to look at the woman and smiled at Bai iyue sweetly.
"Sister iyue, can we talk?" Lu Yin understood that if she wanted to win Lei Qian, she had to please Bai iyue. Of course, she would only lower her head in front of this woman until Lei Qian was in her grasp.
