Bai iyue saw how eager Lu Yin and Dacheng were to jump on Lei Qian's boat. They were willing to do anything to make this man like them, even a little bit but she was different. She had no burning ambition as long as her family was well fed and everyone was safe and sound.
She didn't want to keep Lei Qian to her side; knowing fully well that he was fine without her in his past life, Bai iyue believed that he would be fine in the future too.
The atmosphere turned cold. Bai iyue smiled helplessly; she knew that she had stomped on the sincerity of this man and he was upset with her but there was nothing that she could do. She just wanted everyone to live a good life without falling into trouble.
She exhaled heavily and walked away without looking at Lei Qian. However, she only took a few steps when the man pulled her into the small janitor room. He pressed her against the wall and tipped her chin upwards with his fingers.
"Strangers? Have you seen strangers who know how they taste?" Lei Qian was so angry that he laughed. "I am telling you that it's impossible for you to leave . I know that I am being an arsehole by asking you to stay with despite knowing the dangers, but I would rather keep you by my side and protect you with everything that I have instead of letting you go."
"If you wanted us to stay strangers, then you shouldn't have co to look for ; I would have thought that you hated and I would have avoided you in return. You are not wasting my ti; I am willing to do it. I want to do it. As long as it concerns you, I will be happy to do anything for you. I never asked you to respond to . You can stay with and sense my sincerity."
"If you feel like I am doing well, then you can let know."
Lei Qian really panicked. Just now, Bai iyue really felt like a stranger, and he knew that if he didn't chase after her, he would really lose her for once and for all; thus, he didn't even think twice and chased after her without thinking through things.
He nearly knelt on the floor as he begged her to not draw a line between the two of them. He had been waiting to chase after her for years; how could he accept cutting ties with her so easily? He couldn't do it.
He didn't let go of Bai iyue; seeing that the man was refusing to let go of her, Bai iyue was speechless. Does she need to remind Lei Qian that he was a big boss and was a domineering CEO? Why was he acting like this in front of her?
"It's not as bad as you think —"
"I am not listening!" Lei Qian covered his ears and walked out of the small room. Since Bai iyue refused to let him off, he might as well act as a hooligan!
When Bai iyue saw him acting like a child, she was speechless.
The conversation was going just fine; why did he have to act like this? She wanted to chase after him and continue discussing the matter with him. But then she paused and looked down at her belly. Just now, if Lei Qian had hugged her from the front, he would have sensed sothing amiss.
Bai iyue thought about it and then changed her course of action. It was better to leave that man alone and calm down. Once the two of them had cald down, they would discuss this matter once again.
Lei Qian returned ho with gritted teeth. When the Lei parents saw their son return, they wanted to hug him but upon seeing him grind his teeth as if he was sharpening his teeth to bite soone off to death, they paused and turned to look at one another.
They had no idea what happened or who fed their son gunpowder but it was better to keep quiet at the mont.
Lei Qian returned to his room and sat down angrily. He could not understand what was going on inside Bai iyue's head; sotis he wanted to crack open her skull and see what was happening inside of her head. She just had so many thoughts and never told him anything. He knew that sothing was troubling her but he could only help her if she let him know what was wrong with her!
"You want to push away after using my body? Fat chance, I will never let you go, Bai iyue!"
"Achoo!" Bai iyue sneezed as she returned to the penthouse with the children, babies and doctors, as well as the nurses. She asked them to go and live on the second floor, where there were a few rooms that could be used by them. As for the rest, she asked them to look for a place to stay in the empty apartnts. There was no other way.
Her penthouse just didn't have enough space to let these people stay together.
"Yueyue, you are back."
"Dad! Welco ho."
Yan Wanning rushed out of the kitchen along with her two grandsons, who pounced on Bai Jixuan, while Yan Wanning pulled her daughter towards her and hugged her tight. The way she hugged Bai iyue was as if she had not seen her for a very long ti. There was no other way around it. Yan Wanning knew that her daughter was capable but in her eyes, Bai iyue was still a young girl who needed her parents to protect her.
Thus, she was filled with a lot of worries these past few weeks.
"Mom, get sothing to eat." Bai iyue patted the older woman on the back, comforting her then and said to her, "I am really hungry."
