After all, the vegetables and fruits in her refrigerator alone were enough to sustain the entire team for more than three months. Since she was living a life that was so good, why would she bother with them? If these people felt good after looking down on her because of their own stupid ideas, then let them.
Even if they think of her as a fool, Bai iyue wouldn't lose any flesh from her body. She let out a yawn and closed her eyes before going back to relax her eyes. She was now pregnant and needed a lot of rest.
When Bai iyue returned ho, she saw Mother Bai working in the kitchen. She was standing against the aisle while humming a soft tune when Bai iyue saw her mother cooking the fish ball soup; her eyes softened. When she was young, her mother often made this soup, as it was quite easy to catch fish in the river of the village.
Back then, Bai iyue thought that it was too tiring to drink the sa thing over and over again. She even condemned her mother for being too poor without realising that her mother was doing her best to fill her stomach.
Her grandmother was an extrely patriarchal woman. Though her two brothers lived a well-off life under that woman, Bai iyue was not allowed to drink soup if her grandmother and grandfather were eating at.
Bai iyue walked over to the kitchen and hugged her mother with one arm and said, "Thank you mom—"
She was about to say sothing more when her nose caught the stench of a rather sharp durian. She turned and looked at the fruit that was sitting on the counter and her expression changed again and again. Finally, she couldn't resist and turned around to rush to the restroom where she threw up.
Bai iyue heaved a few tis before wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. However, just as she stood up and washed her hands and mouth, she saw her mother standing behind her with a troubled expression.
Her lips were trembling as she stared at Bai iyue who was standing in front of her. Her eyes looked at Bai iyue before her face fell and she stared right at Bai iyue's abdon.
"Mom?"
Bai iyue called her mother again as she could sense that there was sothing that Mother Bai noticed, and from the look on her face, she didn't like whatever she was seeing.
"Mom?" she called her mother again when she saw that her mother was not speaking.
Though Bai iyue didn't say anything, she knew that her mother must have noticed sothing. After all, her mother had given birth to more than two children. She must know what was going on with Bai iyue, even if the latter was trying her best to hide it.
She was about to tell the truth to her mother, but then Mother Bai turned around on her feet and walked away.
Bai iyue: "...."
What was she supposed to do now?
She thought for a while, and after so hesitation, she chased after her mother. She found her mother in the dining room, where she was placing a bowl of hot fish balls on the table.
"Eat. I am feeling a bit tired. So I will rest for a while. You should go and take a rest once you have finished eating as well," Mother Bai told her before turning to walk to her room.
Though Mother Bai kept her pace steady, anyone could see that she was trying to escape from the dining room. She wanted to say a lot of things to Bai iyue, but at the sa ti, she knew that Bai iyue was not a child. Since she could understand what was going on, how could Bai iyue not understand? She might even know about her condition better than her mother.
Mother Bai's heart was filled with sadness and worry.
She had long known that there was sothing wrong with her daughter, but she never dared to question her because she was scared to hear the truth. It was the kind of fear where she wanted her suspicions to be known, but at the sa ti, she was too scared.
It was said that when a woman gave birth, she not only gave birth to a child but was also reborn. Giving birth was not a small matter, after all; while giving birth, one foot of a woman was inside hell's door.
When Mother Bai thought about how Bai iyue was vomiting more and more frequently these days, she knew that there was a possibility. But she was too scared to confirm that possibility. Because she was worried that if she talked about the truth about Bai iyue's condition, she would not be able to support her.
She only had one daughter, whom she finally got back from the clutches of that bastard. How could she watch her daughter jump into the pit again? She didn't dare to do it!
But Mother Bai knew that her daughter would not listen to her. Because if she wanted to abort that child, she would have done it by now!
Bai iyue watched her mother leave, and she didn't know what to say to her anymore. She wanted to confess about her pregnancy to her mother, but she was worried that her mother would definitely lose her temper if she were to do that.
What was more, Bai iyue, as a mother, could also understand the anger of her mother. If her son dared to do such a thing, his life would be put at risk, and yet he still dared to do it. Then she too would be so angry that her heart, liver, spleen and everything else would start hurting.
So how could she bla her mother? When she would suffer in the sa manner.
With her head down, she sighed and rubbed her forehead before muttering, "What a ss."
