Bai Xue and the rest thought that there was nothing wrong with using a few supernatural beings to support the entire team. But that was where she and the rest of the family were wrong. "Did you hear?" Bai Jixuan, who was standing guard behind his sister, suddenly spoke up. "That girl, the one who followed us in the hospital, she seed to have lost her mories. Big brother and I ran into her just now, but she didn't even look at us. It was as if she couldn't recognise us at all."
Bai Jixuan was referring to Jiang Li. He never expected that the woman would be rescued by Hu Ajing and her team. And from that woman's reaction, she didn't seem to recognise them, which was really weird.
"Is that so?" Bai iyue curled her lips as she finished instilling the spiritual energy within the glowing orb. It seed like the mory-altering device really did its job. When she used more than three high-quality jade pieces, Bai iyue was dubious and was half certain that it would not work.
But now, from the evidence, it seed like it was a rather good purchase; she was thinking of sending a five-star review to that woman who sold the mory-altering device to her.
It was a good deal.
Bai Jixuan nodded and remarked, "It was really weird. We thought that she would try to latch onto us like she did the last ti, but she didn't even look in our direction."
Of course, she didn't. Bai iyue knew that woman very well. Jiang Li was a really vengeful woman. It would be a surprise if she had the mind to pay attention to other things. She must be planning on how to avenge herself, so how could she have the ti to bother her brothers?
"What do you think?" When Bai Jixuan didn't hear Bai iyue say anything, he asked in a low voice. "Why did she act like she didn't recognise us? Is she planning sothing?"
No one could bla Bai Jixuan for being careful. After being troubled by Lu Yin and seeing the changes in the world, he had beco more or less suspicious of everything.
"We can't be sure," Bai iyue simply replied with a soft smile. "Even if she was planning sothing, we can only wait for her to make a move first; if we attack her first, it will only make us look like a bully."
What Bai iyue didn't tell her brother was that even if Jiang Li was planning sothing, it had nothing to do with them.
After she was finished dealing with the glowing orb, Bai iyue turned on her feet and headed back upstairs to her room. However, as soon as she stepped inside, she saw Ciyi hiding under the bed once again.
She had no idea what had happened with the little pup, but she had been hiding from her these past few days, which made Bai iyue really troubled. She asked Ciyi what was wrong with her, but the little pup never answered.
When Ciyi saw that Bai iyue was frowning while looking at her, she also felt a bit guilty, but she couldn't step out of bed. Even if she was a beast, she knew how hard it was for a mother to lose her child. She couldn't believe that those people were actually worse than beasts; even beasts would not attack the little ones.
However, Ciyi knew that if she told Bai iyue that she had accidentally peeked at her scars, it would definitely get her beaten up.
Thus, she could only avoid the woman and stop herself from getting exposed.
Now that she was being stared at by Bai iyue, Ciyi was so anxious that her fur was standing on end; she could only hope that the woman would not sense anything amiss.
