Now reading: Chapter 408 408: Just Not My Responsibility (2) from Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies, a Drama novel by fairytail72.

However, she had to admit that Su Hu was quite a smart man. Even though he didn't know that staying with Bai Xue would bring nothing but trouble in the future, he was already separating from her. Bai iyue didn't know what to say about it.

Should she regret that Su Hu's instincts were spot on, or should she lant his good luck?

Though it happened shortly in her past life, it never happened so soon. Most probably, it must have happened because she was no longer acting as Bai Xue's stepping stone. Without her, the target that the two of them could bully and condemn, the fallout waiting to happen happened a lot sooner than in her past life.

As for working in the base, Bai iyue curled her lips in a cold sneer. She knew that at the beginning, everyone would think that they had returned to the old tis, and the positions handed to them were no different from civil servants. Even those who wanted to start a safe zone wouldn't find anything wrong with the bases that were established at the start.

The salary given would be generous, and the benefits would be more than perfect.

However, they would soon realise that it was not that simple. It was too much work, and the ability users were not given enough rest. The sa could be said for those who were working for the base. The hard work and continuous grinding hours made them soon realise that the sugar that they were tempted with was not as sweet as they thought.

And if working under other bases was hard, then it was even more difficult to work under Yu Miaomiao, and Chief Yang was even harder. As they never took the lives of people with ability seriously. They used them like they were so kind of livestock. They would drive them so hard that they would be crushed to death. And if they don't tire them to death, then they wouldn't be Yu Miaomiao and Chief Yang.

Bai iyue was in no condition to bear and suffer under Yu Miaomiao's oppression, especially when she was entangled with Lei Qian. It was better to stay away from Yu Miaomiao's path, collect supplies and live a comfortable life without bothering about rising to power.

Only fools would accept working under Yu Miaomiao; she was fortunately no fool.

She shook her head and headed out. She needed to move her body a little, or else her mother would scold her about acting like a couch potato until her ears started bleeding.

While Bai iyue was smart enough to dodge the bullet. There was soone who was foolish enough not to understand sothing so simple.

When Su Hu returned to the apartnt where the Bai family was living, he heard the sound of quarrelling. He turned to look at Bai Xue and Bai Feng, who were arguing loudly.

Bai Xue was really excited as she waved the docunt in her hand and said to Bai Feng, who was standing in front of her with his arms crossed, "What's the problem? The conditions ntioned in the contract are so generous; as long as you are willing to join the base, we don't have to worry about anything. We will be given all kinds of accommodation and supplies. What is there to be worried about? Brother Feng, sotis you need to think outside the box and not be trapped within it!"

"That's the point! The conditions are too good," countered Bai Feng angrily. He ran his hand through his hair and asked the rest of the family, "Who is Yu Miaomiao? What do you even know about her? Why is she handing out such generous conditions? Don't you even understand sothing so simple as fattening up a lamb before sacrificing it?"

"I don't know who this woman is, but the conditions that she had put forth are simply too good, and it's really fishy."

He then paused and added, "Who allowed you to promise sothing in my na? You promised them that I would join their base. Just who gave you the right to do such a thing?"

"I am your sister!"

"That's right, you are just my sister! You are not . Why would you do such a thing? This was my decision to make, not yours!"

Compared to Bai Xue, who was filled with excitent, Bai Feng was slightly agitated. He was annoyed with the fact that Bai Xue had used him like this. It was one thing that she usually acted wilful, but this was too much. He was not a toy that she could give to anyone as she wished.

If not for the fact that Bai Feng was brainwashed to the point that he wouldn't dare to go against Bai Xue, he would have thrown the woman out of the room and never looked at her again. If it were soone else, he might really have done it.

But Bai Xue could not understand his agitation. She was used to getting whatever she wanted, and thus, she couldn't stomach the rejection. She chased after Bai Feng, who was walking away from her and agitatedly said, "What's the matter with you, Brother Feng? These people are willing to hand you a good salary, and they are also looking after the family. You will beco the leader of a big team. Why are you refusing? As far as I can see, there is no need for you to refuse."

"Why are you not thinking about our family's future?"

Hearing this, Bai Feng could no longer stay quiet. He turned to look at Bai Xue and snapped harshly, "Am I the only one who should be looking after the future of this family? Bai Xue, are you forgetting that your surna is also Bai? Why should I be the only one to look after the future of this family? When did I say that I would take care of this family alone?"

All these days, he had been working hard for this family, making sure that they all would be well-fed and living a good life. Even after driving himself to the ground, they still wanted more from him. How could he not be frustrated?

If Bai iyue were there, she would have clapped her hands for Bai Xue succeeding in making even the good-tempered Bai Feng go crazy.
