Bai iyue was stunned when she received the notification. She raised her head and looked up at the blue screen in front of her and surprise flashed in her eyes.
Good guy!
She thought that the barter system was already a great golden finger that she had received from the heavens but she never thought that there was actually a chance to upgrade it.
However, she only showed surprise for a few seconds before returning to normal. She did not wish for Lu Ling to sense sothing amiss.
"Here," Lu Ling didn’t notice any fluctuations in Bai iyue and turned to look at her. "Like you asked , I have brought you the promised set of rifles, guns, machine guns, X-bows, and—"
He continued to list the items and Bai iyue continued to carefully open the boxes that were placed inside the warehouse.
And while Lu Ling was counting off the items off the lists, she took advantage of his lack of attention and sneakily pushed the boxes with the ancient artefacts inside the small space ring before straightening up.
"There you go." Lu Ling threw the list that Bai iyue had given to him right in front of her feet and said to her, "I have held my side of the bargain. Now it’s your turn."
"Sure," Bai iyue smiled as she threw a pill to Lu Ling and said to him, "This is your first set of antidote."
"First set?" Lu Ling, who caught the pill in his hands, squeaked and looked at Bai iyue in shock. "What do you an by first set?"
"There is no need to look so shocked, CEO Lu," Bai iyue sneered as she stated in a cold voice, "It’s just as I said: you need to take this antidote for the next four months or else your condition will only get worse."
"You—" Lu Ling felt his head buzz. He stepped forward and shouted at Bai iyue, "You dare cheat ?"
Bai iyue shrugged and comnted, "I learnt from the best, CEO Lu. Don’t forget that just because my father agreed to give you so benefits, you made him my beneficiary and let him make decisions for and even took a huge chunk of my earnings through a loophole in the contract."
"Compared to you, I am still rciful."
She then smiled and added, "And if you were in my place, would you be foolish enough to hand over the entire antidote at once?"
Lu Ling stared at Bai iyue as if he wished to kill her then and there. As if realising his intentions, Bai iyue covered her mouth and said in a fake terrified voice, "CEO Lu, don’t tell . You want to kill ? But if you kill , what will happen to you? Who will provide you with the antidote?"
When Bai iyue saw that Lu Ling was so angry that his face was turning purple, she sniggered and swaggered out of the warehouse. She then turned to look at the truck driver who was standing outside the warehouse and said to him, "Pack the things up and deliver them to the Sky High apartnts."
She gave the man the apartnt number of her old place and then drove away, feeling quite pleased after disgusting Lu Ling.
Inside the warehouse, Lu Ling clenched the antidote pill and breathed heavily. He raised his hand to throw the pill down but stopped himself in ti.
Four months. Just four months!
He would deal with that woman after that.
However, Lu Ling had no idea what kind of future was waiting for him in the next four months.
Bai iyue had no idea that Lu Ling was still not willing to give up. She took a drive around the city and went to several pharmacies where she bought so daily dicines such as band-aids, iodine, fever and cold dicines, vitamins, antibiotics, etc.
She also brought so headache roll-ons and dicines for her mother and so warrs as well as pain relievers.
After the end of the world, getting injured would beco a norm and these dicines would co in handy at such tis. Though supernatural beings wouldn’t get injured and sick easily with their speedy healing ability, what about ordinary people like her mother?
Bai iyue had no idea if her mother awakened or not because she died before that.
She then went to the small farmhouse and bought a number of livestock. Though buying pigs was out of the question, she could still raise chickens, geese, and ducks in one of the rooms of her penthouse.
After that she purchased various drinks, gasoline, and so other important things.
She was about to drive back ho when she raised her head and looked at the darkened sky. Her eyes flashed with worry when she saw the rumbling clouds; this didn’t happen in her last life.
Bai iyue hurried back ho; however, as soon as she entered the house, she saw her mother sitting on the couch with an angry look on her face and from her red eyes, it was clear that she had cried.
"Mom?"
"Do you still know how to call out Mom?" Bai iyue heard her mother question her angrily. "Chen Yuya, I will take care of that girl and that Bai Xue. Even though that girl is in prison, we still need to make sure that the girl would never be able to co out and that Chen Yuya, we need to sue her. How dare she join her hand with Bai Xue and drug you?"
As she spoke, she glared at Bai iyue and then said to her, "You still pretended as if nothing had happened. I know that girls need to protect themselves, but when such a thing happens, then you need to boldly accuse the culprit or else you will only embolden such people."
"You have been bullied to this point; what is the point in hiding? How can you watch the one who ruined your life walk so freely!?"
As Yan Wanning continued to scold Bai iyue, she suddenly burst into tears, "My poor daughter—wuwuwu—she was bullied like this—how can they—wuwuwu—how can they hurt you like this—wuuuuu—What are you going to do now? Who will marry you—wuwuwuuu—this matter is now known to everyone—"
