"Of course not!" Lu Yu refused at once, but when Shen Zhen glared at him, the man lowered his head and softened his voice at once. He said to her, "I just wanted to ask you if you are seriously considering the offer that Yu Miaomiao made to you. If you are, then I am telling you that it’s not worth it. Shen Zhen stood still; she looked at Lu Yu, who was staring at her with a stubborn look in his eyes. It was quite clear from her insistent attitude that he was not going to leave her without an answer. The look on his face showed that if Shen Zhen didn’t say that she was not going, then the man would die for her to see.
She sighed and then took off the stethoscope that she had thrown around her neck and then said to Lu Yu, "Co with ." After speaking, she turned around on her feet and then headed inside the makeshift hospital that they had made and headed to the office where she usually checked up on her patients.
When Nurse Lin saw Shen Zhen followed by Lu Yu, who was tall and had a cold face, she stiffened and looked at Shen Zhen worriedly. The latter waved her hand and told the woman to continue with her work and that she was fine.
Once she was inside her office, she pushed away the paper and the docunts that had piled up on the table and said to Lu Yu, "Sit down. Do you want sothing to drink? I have tea and hot water."
"Water is fine." Lu Yu replied gruffly, and Shen Zhen nodded.
She poured a glass of water and then placed it in front of Lu Yu. Shen Zhen waited for the man to finish drinking the water and then said to him, "Do you like , Lu Yu?"
Lu Yu coughed when he heard Shen Zhen’s question. He choked and said, "What—?"
"Do you like ?" Shen Zhen asked with a no-nonsense attitude. "The way you keep poking your nose in my life, trying to keep safe and protect ... It will be really weird if you are doing it just as a friend, you know?"
Lu Yu parted his lips and wanted to tell Shen Zhen that she was wrong and that there was nothing wrong with it. That friends also looked after their friends in the sa manner as this, but he knew that he would be lying if he said those words. There were no such friends who would intervene in the lives of their friends.
He lowered his head and thought about it a little, and after a long pause, Lu Yu realised that Shen Zhen was the only woman whom he didn’t find annoying. He didn’t hate how she would put him in his place and would scold him whenever he did sothing wrong. So, after a long pause, Lu Yu nodded and replied, "Maybe I do?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Shen Zhen frowned coldly, looking a bit annoyed. She said to him, "What do you an by that you might like ? It’s either a yes or no."
"It’s not that I don’t want to say that I don’t like you," stamred Lu Yu. he looked at the woman and wished he had paid more attention to Lei Qian; that way, he would have known how to act and confess when faced with such a situation. "I an to say that I do like you, but I cannot be sure about you."
When she continued frowning, he said to her, "Look, I know that we have our differences and it’s really hard for you to trust , but I am sure that I am much better than any other man out there. At least I will never do anything to hurt you, and I will never betray your trust."
The more he talked, the more Lu Yu thought that he was making a ss out of the entire situation. After a short while, he stopped speaking because he could no longer speak. When he raised his head, he saw that Shen Zhen was frowning even harder, which made him worry.
He stamred, "Do...Do you dislike even more now?" Maybe they might not be able to stay as friends either.
"It’s not that I hate you... It’s just that I cannot trust n or marriage."
"You don’t want to get married?" Lu Yu asked with an expression that scread that he was about to die.
To make his biggest horrors co true, Shen Zhen nodded. She told him, "I am the oldest of my sisters; you know that, right?"

Another stiff nod. Lu Yu didn’t know where Shen Zhen was going with this topic, but he silently waited for her to continue speaking. He then heard her say, "My parents married out of love.
