While Mo He and the rest were discussing the best way to sneak in close enough to find a way to get to the control room and the research lab of Yu Miaomiao, Lei Qian rushed to the penthouse where the Bai family lived.
It was late at night, and Bai iyue had just finished washing up and massaging her feet that had started to slowly swell. Now she was dressed in a nightgown, which was perfect for a pregnant woman and lying in her bed while reading a storybook to her son.
"And the big bad wolf ate the little girl. The end." Bai iyue finished reading the book and closed it.
"Are you sure that you want to read a story with such a cruel ending for our son?" Lei Qian asked as he pushed open the door and entered her room. Now that everyone knew that he was the father of her child, no one stopped Lei Qian from coming and going. He walked over to the bed and sat down while taking the book from her.
He had read this book when he was ten or eleven, but not before that. Unlike him, his son was being told this story when he wasn’t even born yet.
Bai iyue rolled her eyes and then turned around so that her body was half lying and half sitting. She then said to him, "I am only teaching my son not to trust in strangers. The world is rotten, and no one can be trusted. I don’t want him to trust the wrong person and suffer; this is a lesson that he should learn before he cos to this world."
She then turned to look at the man and asked, "What happened? Did you finally co up with a plan to kill Yu Miaomiao?"
Lei Qian humd and then told her the plan of keeping an eye on the surveillance caras and the research labs.
When Bai iyue heard that Yu Miaomiao had created small surveillance caras that were the size of spiders, her eyes widened in surprise. However, after a short while, she realised that there was no need for her to be shocked. Yu Miaomiao was a talented researcher even if she had not awakened.
So it was not a surprise.
She pursed her lips and then said to the man, "You need to be careful; if she is keeping the entire base under her control, there is a very good chance that she knows what you are doing."
If possible, Bai iyue would have tried to hunt down the woman by tracking her energy fluctuations, but the problem was that there were so many ability users in the base that Bai iyue knew that she wouldn’t be able to track down one user. Her senses would be confused by the other ability users.
"You don’t need to worry about that woman for the ti being. Just leave everything to . I will take care of her."
Bai iyue shook her head and then said to Lei Qian, "I am not worried about it. The one thing that I am worried about is that if we want to kill Yu Miaomiao, then it ans that we need to arrange a place for us to stay in the mansion. Or else it would be really troubleso if we were cornered by that woman."
Lei Qian frowned when he heard her response. He then said to her, "Don’t think too much. I will arrange for the work at the mansion to pick up pace. We will move there in three or four days unless nothing goes wrong."
Lei Qian didn’t want Bai iyue, who was pregnant, to worry about such things. He helped her lie back down on the bed and said to her, "Your task is to just care about yourself and the child. Leave these stupid things to ; I will worry about it, and I will worry enough for the two of us."
"Alright, alright, I got it. You are becoming more and more like my mother."
Bai iyue rolled her eyes as she placed her head on the pillow. However, as soon as her head hit the pillow, her eyes could no longer stay open. She let out a yawn and allowed Lei Qian to hug her as she fell asleep.
Shen Zhen told her that she should sleep on her side, now that her belly was getting bigger and bigger. Shen Zhen told her that it would improve not only the blood circulation but also prevent compression of the vena cava. Thus, even though the position was a bit uncomfortable, she still slept on her left side.
This position was really difficult to hold, as Bai iyue always wanted to turn on her back; fortunately, with Lei Qian holding her, she could keep this position until she woke up.
"It’s so uncomfortable," Bai iyue murmured. When she opened her eyes, she realised that it was already morning, the man behind her was gone, and a pregnancy pillow had replaced him.
Though the pillow was of good quality, it could never mimic Lei Qian’s warmth and hard body.
Annoyed, Bai iyue pushed the pillow away from her and then sat up straight.
Her mind cleared up a bit, but she still couldn’t rember everything. Bai iyue could feel her head getting emptier and emptier. If she were not aware of the fact that such a thing could happen, she would have doubted whether she was getting amnesia. After a long ti, she recalled that the entire base was now under surveillance caras and that they needed to find the control room.
Bai iyue yawned and then got out of bed before heading to the bathing room, where she took a hot bath and then went to the dining room.
As soon as she stepped down the last stair, she ran into Lei Qian, who ca out of the kitchen. He was dressed in an apron and holding a big pot in his hands. "Are you awake? Here, eat sothing, and then I will take you on a walk outside."
