Lie Qian charged at level one zombies. With the level three zombie gone, taking care of these zombies was as easy as eating a pie. He raised his hand and summoned a bunch of fireballs and hurled them at the zombies.
At the sa ti, Bai iyue, who was a step behind Lei Qian, summoned thin tendrils of ice that looked like countless needles floating in the sky. As she brought her hand down, the icicles ca hurtling downwards before piercing the bodies of the countless zombies. They froze at once, turning into ice statues.
With them turning into ice statues, Bai iyue no longer needed to worry about anything else. She stepped forward and then started stabbing the skulls of the zombies as she pulled out the crystal nucleus. On the side, Lei Qian collected the nuclei that were scattered in the ashes. Once they were done collecting the nuclei, they stepped forward.
Bai iyue walked past the burnt doors and looked at the mansion, which was bigger and had a lot of space. She said to Lei Qian, "You can move your family into this mansion. Though it’s a bit far from where we will live, it’s better than the others. Look at this; it has swings and a small swimming pool. Xiao Cai can have a good ti when he cos to look for your parents."
As Bai iyue looked around the mansion, she had to admit that this place was also a good place to raise their son. It had a small farm, with a gigantic greenhouse just like the one that she had decided on. She walked over to the greenhouse and looked inside. Her eyes widened when she realised that there were a lot of green vegetables growing inside the greenhouse.
She glanced at Lei Qian and asked him, "Do you think that these vegetables will stay alive until your family moves in here?"
Lei Qian walked over and glanced at the vegetables that were scattered all over the land. He frowned and said, "I don’t know." He took a look around the greenhouse and said, "The generator is still running. But we don’t know how long it will run. Once the power dies down, these vegetables will freeze."
Bai iyue pursed her lips. She had to admit that Lei Qian was right. She glanced at the vegetables and said, "Let it be. I will ask Xiao Wu to dig it all out; we are going to hand these vegetables to Yu Miaomiao. Let her be happy for a while longer." It was better to leave without making a sound rather than causing a foolish rebellion.
"You are right," Lei Qian replied with a frown. Even though he didn’t like the idea of letting Yu Miaomiao have these vegetables, it was better to let that woman believe that she had cornered them nicely, lest she start to spy on them.
Once the two of them decided what to do with the vegetables, they returned to the mansion.
Upon seeing them walking over, Bai Jixuan walked over to Bai iyue. He asked with concern, "Are you alright?"
Bai iyue nodded and replied, "We are fine. The mansion was haunted by a level three zombie, which led to the disruption." She then turned to look at the n who were listening to her and said to them, "Make sure if you notice even the slightest bit of difference or danger, you need to turn around and leave. Don’t try to take on sothing that you have never faced. Even if you awaken as an ability user. Do you understand?"
The n nodded.
"Good." Bai iyue then turned to look at her brother and asked, "Are the mansions cleaned?"
He said to her, "Though we have cleaned the mansion of the zombies, we still need to clean them off the gunk and mud." Bai Jixuan frowned and continued, "Elder Brother told that there are also bits of human remains outside the mansions as well as inside so of the mansions. Those need to be taken care of, including the dirty and toxic water. As you are going to stay here and connect all the mansions, there is a good chance that the child will run around. We cannot leave the toxic water unattended."
"Those ponds need thorough cleansing and then refilling or covering."
"There are also mutated animals; we will keep those who were once used as livestock, and the rest will be cleared up."
When Lei Qian heard that they wanted to keep the livestock, he opened his mouth to object, but one look from Bai iyue made him close his mouth.
Bai Jixuan’s lips twitched when he saw their actions. However, a second later, he cleared his throat and then said to Bai iyue, "It will take so ti till then. We need to create an ard team of ability users; only then can we make this place fit for human survival."
Bai iyue nodded upon hearing her second brother’s suggestion. Even though she hated the idea of waiting, she knew that her brother was right.
When they walked inside the mansion that had been thoroughly cleaned, they found Xiao Wu and Yang Chunhua standing in the kitchen. They were looking through the pans and pots while trying to cook sothing. The seasonings were collected from the mansions, and they didn’t need to worry about the vegetables, as so were frozen, but could still be eaten, and there were bigger mansions that had multiple power supplies, which were still running while squeezing out the last of their fuel.
"You should go and take a nap," said Lei Qian as he rolled his sleeves and prepared to cook sothing. "You have been running around for a while now."
Bai iyue wanted to refuse, but the second she opened her mouth, Shen Zhen stepped out and crossed her arms in front of her. She glanced at Bai iyue and questioned, "Just where were you?"
Bai iyue: "..."
Not wanting to answer the question, she turned around on her feet and said, "You are right; I should take a nap."
"Miss iyue!"
Hearing Shen Zhen’s sharp voice, Bai iyue only increased her pace as she bolted towards the bedroom.
