Bai iyue didn’t stop her family, and her attention went back to the chips in her lap. She was about to take a sip of the bone broth soup that her mother had brought for her when the doorbell of her electric door echoed in the silent corridor. Frowning, Bai iyue got to her feet and then walked out of the living room and through the corridor before coming to a stop in front of the iron gate.
She first saw who it was, and only then did she open the door. Upon seeing Yang Wei, who was standing outside with his wife, she couldn’t help but tilt her head to one side in silence. She couldn’t understand why the two of them returned so soon. Yang Wei and his wife lowered their heads in silence and embarrassnt. The two of them went to the small shopping mall where they had been staying, but they never expected that the place had already been taken over by another family.
The family were simply unreasonable, as they had an ability user with them; even though that woman was not as strong as Bai iyue, she was still stronger than Yang Wei and his wife. Thus, she easily chased them out of the shopping mall. What was more, if they wanted to stay alone, then they had to fend off the zombies all day long.
At the start, Yang Wei could do it, but fighting zombies without any rest made him tired and weak, not to ntion that he also had to look for supplies for his wife and child. As a normal person, he couldn’t do it.
In the end, Yang Wei had no choice but to co looking for Bai iyue. At least if he stayed with her, he only needed to worry about hunting zombies and finding crystal nuclei. That should be enough for Bai iyue.
Bai iyue stared at the two people, and when they didn’t say anything, she arched her brow and then said to the two of them, "What’s the matter?"
"I... we..." Yang Wei opened his mouth but didn’t know where to start. What was he supposed to say to Bai iyue? He promised that he would not bother her once his son was born, but now he was standing in front of her once again, hoping that she would take them in. Even if he didn’t want to admit it, it was quite shaless of him.
When Sister Yang saw that her husband was having a hard ti speaking the truth, she stepped forward and righted the patched hat that she was wearing on her head. She said to Bai iyue awkwardly, "Miss Bai, can we stay here? I am not saying that we will live here for free; we will give you crystal nuclei in exchange for the supplies we will use as well as rent for our stay under your team."
"Oh?" Bai iyue raised her eyebrows when she heard the request of the Yang couple.
She looked at Yang Wei and his wife, who looked right back at her. The three of them looked at one another as if they didn’t know what to say at that mont.
It wasn’t that Bai iyue was not willing to let them stay, but she knew that the Yang couple wanted to stay at the Sunshine Complex because they fancied the stable and protection-filled life that they were living here at the mont. But the thing was that Bai iyue was going to leave this place.
If she was going to leave this complex, what was the point of bringing the Yang couple with her? After all, the place where they were going to stay was not as safe as the Sunshine Complex. The mansions were at the heart of the city, not far from the harbour. The chances of zombies circulating there would never go down. So could these two even stay with them?
When Yang Wei saw that Bai iyue was not saying anything, he gritted his teeth and then said to Bai iyue, "My wife and I will not eat and drink for free. I know the addresses of a lot of pharmaceutical factories; I can take you there through the shortcuts. This way, you will have thousands and thousands of varieties of dicines."
"And I... I can wash and take care of the babies in the infirmary," said Sister Yang hurriedly. Her face turned red when she saw that Bai iyue was not saying anything; in the end, she looked like she was cornered by Bai iyue’s hesitation. She stuck her neck out and then said in a loud voice, "I have a lot of milk! If you think that we are not good enough, then I can beco the nanny for those babies. You can ask to feed the babies."
"I promise that I will breastfeed all eleven kids."
Bai iyue burst out laughing when she heard the words of the Yang couple. She was just thinking about where to put them; she never thought of pushing them into a corner like this. But at least this was enough to show that they were honest and genuine and didn’t co here to look for trouble.
"Alright, alright. I understand; if this is what you want, then I can arrange a place for you to stay."
Though she didn’t need Sister Yang to breastfeed the kids yet, no one could be clear about the situation. After all, she had a lot of milk powder in her storage, and she could easily take out enough for the children in the infirmary to drink.
But what if soday in the future, she ended up going sowhere for a month or two, and sothing happened to Shen Zhen and the others? Or what if they ended up getting separated? Babies need to drink milk for two years. If the supply of milk powder gets disrupted, who knows what might happen to the babies? It was better to let Sister Yang stay with them.
