Dacheng watched the man leave and then dragged Lu Yin back with him. The woman remained unconscious throughout the entire way, but she did wake up when they arrived in the hospital. As soon as Lu Yin woke up, she gasped and looked around, and she only relaxed when she was certain that Bai iyue was not anywhere close to her.
She closed her eyes and then fell back on the bed, her head hitting the pillow. Her heart was still thudding in her chest when she thought about the horrors that she had gone through in the morning. In the past, Lu Yin knew that Bai iyue was crazy, but she never thought that she was this crazy.
In fact, it would be wrong to say that she was crazy.
Earlier, when Bai iyue was throttling her, Lu Yin realised that the woman was rather calm. She was neither agitated, nor guilty, nor scared of killing her. She was serene, like she had been killing people for ages. The sheer calmness of the woman scared her to the point that she wished she could get away from Bai iyue and never run into her ever again.
Lei Qian was also a bit frenzied and cruel, but at least he showed human emotions when he attacked or killed soone. However, Bai iyue? That woman was a demon in the face of a human. The only person she cared about was her child. And she guarded her son so carefully that she would destroy anything that brought harm to her child.
Unlike her, Lei Qian might be a bit rebellious and arrogant as well as cold, but he would never —never throw away a person’s life so casually. If he were the one standing in front of them, he would have never killed those soldiers and the researchers. At most, he would have scared them away. But Bai iyue killed them all without blinking an eye or thinking about their families.
A woman like that, who only cared and lived for her son, it was terrifying to even think about going against her. Unless a person was an idiot, they would never even think of touching her child.
Lu Yin had experienced it all firsthand and was now traumatised at the very thought of causing trouble for Bai iyue and her child. That demon—she wouldn’t even hesitate to pull her heart out of her chest if her son was troubled.
"Are you alright?"
Lu Yin turned her head and looked at Dacheng, who was walking inside the hospital ward. The man had changed his military uniform and was now wearing a white shirt and black pants. He was holding a glass of milk that he might have gotten from sowhere; as for where, Lu Yin didn’t care. She snatched the glass from him and started gulping down the milk before saying, "I am, of course, not fine at all. Do you even know I nearly stopped breathing? That woman is crazy. She wanted to kill just because we threatened her with her child. And she would have done it without batting an eye."
"I know," Dacheng replied with a frown.
Previously, he thought that even if Bai iyue was strong, she would have her own limits, but today he realised that he had underestimated that woman severely. She was not only strong, she was crazily strong. He noticed the confidence in her eyes when she stated that she could destroy the entire base if she wanted to. That was not blind confidence or strength talking; it was conviction. The woman was speaking the truth. When she said that she could destroy the entire base, she ant it. She could truly destroy it all if she wanted.
That was when he realised that he had made a serious miscalculation by joining Yu Miaomiao. He thought that the woman would be able to control Bai iyue, but the reality was way different from what he thought.
He was a wise man, and he could see that Bai iyue was stronger than any other ability user he had ever seen. Today, he saw Bai iyue’s true strength. And when Lu Yin disclosed the plan that Yu Miaomiao had in mind, Bai iyue never showed a look of surprise, which ant that the woman was already aware of it.
A woman who could see through their sches without them even making a move—was not soone he or Yu Miaomiao could control. The plans that she had in her mind were never going to work, which ant that he had joined the wrong group.
Beside him, Lu Yin had no such thoughts. She only cared about one thing, and that was to stay as far as possible from Bai iyue, such that no one would be able to harm her. At the sa ti, she wondered if her brother would take revenge on Bai iyue once he found out what Bai iyue had done to her.
She pursed her lips and turned to look at Dacheng before asking, "What now? If Yu Miaomiao finds out that I told the truth to Bai iyue, she will never leave alone."
"That stupid plan was not going to work to begin with," sneered Dacheng. The plan that Yu Miaomiao ca up with was going to fall, but Dacheng didn’t want to be defeated. He turned to look at Lu Yin, whose good looks were enough to charm Chief Lin. He still rembered how Chief Lin, that old man, had asked him to take care of Lu Yin and had badmouthed Bai iyue severely.
All his words comprised the sa thing: Bai iyue shouldn’t have hurt Lu Yin.
That was enough for him to realise what that old man felt for Lu Yin. And that old man was Yu Miaomiao’s right-hand man. If they control him, then they could take over at least half of the army supplies and soldiers.
Thinking of this, Dacheng turned to look at Lu Yin, this idiot with an even brighter smile.
