Bai iyue glanced at the man who was speaking. She arched one of her brows and remarked, "Why do you think I am bringing you along with ? If you cannot even keep these soldiers from shooting us, what benefit do you even have? Not to ntion your importance in Yu Miaomiao’s heart." She tilted her head to one side and questioned, "Do you want to follow us just in case Chief Yu decides to discard you? I an, if she shoots us down, does it not an that you are useless to her? What’s the point of following a leader who won’t even care about your life and death?"
Fox smiled with a hint of awkwardness. All these years, he thought that he was quite a good manipulator and he could win the hearts of others with just a few words, but this ti around, he realised that he was nothing compared to Bai iyue. Just a few words that hit ho, and she nearly swayed him and his intent of following Yu Miaomiao.
Of course, he didn’t want to follow Yu Miaomiao either. Fox had lived a life of nothing but betrayal and treachery in the slums. He didn’t even have the word ’loyalty’ in his dictionary. Bai iyue looked at the guards who were standing in front of the exit of the base. They had not only closed the gates but had also barricaded them. Bai iyue narrowed her eyes. She knew that Yu Miaomiao was trying to stop her from leaving. However, it didn’t matter, since she had decided that she was going to leave; no one would stop her, nor was she going to stop.
She opened the window of the car and shouted in a loud voice, "You all better move! Believe when I say that I will kill anyone who dares to shoot or stop . I will not hold back."
However, the guards didn’t move; seeing this, Bai iyue turned and looked at Lei Qian, who nodded and then opened the window of the car on his side. The two of them had a tacit understanding. Thus, no words needed to be exchanged. Lei Qian thrust his hand out and then shot the gates down with a fireball. The gates were made of pure iron, but with Lei Qian making a move, they started to lt like butter would when scraped with a hot knife.
Sparks flew all over the place, and so of the guards started to scream and panic, but before they could run away, they were stopped by the man standing in the lead. He shouted at them, "Do not run. They will not dare to kill us. This is sothing that I can assure you of."
The guards looked at one another and turned to look at their leader. They wanted to tell the man that Bai iyue would dare to do it, as she had already killed a few soldiers earlier. But they didn’t dare to say it because they knew that if they spoke, Leader Ling would definitely send them to the punishnt hall.
That place was really hell on earth, and they didn’t dare to go there.
Bai iyue heard the words of the man who was standing tall in front of the rest of the guards. She turned and looked at Fox before saying to him, "Your guards really think that they are still living in the pre-apocalypse world, don’t they? What does this man an by saying that I will not dare to kill them? Why won’t I dare to kill them?"
"This...I..." Fox wanted to speak, but before he could, Bai iyue flicked her fingers, and a water whip appeared in her hands. She flung it backwards and circled it around his torso. Sharp dagger-like ripples appeared all over the whip, and Fox whimpered like a little damsel in distress. He turned to look at Bai iyue and said to her, "Miss Bai, why are you doing this to ? Didn’t I say that I would willingly cooperate with you? I don’t think that there is any need for you to do such a thing."
"I know, but we need to keep things as real as possible. Look at this; we gave them such a show, and yet they dared to think that we would dare not kill them, what if they think that we will dare not harm you either and stop us? It’s better this way," Bai iyue told him.
Fox wanted to say sothing to contradict her, but when he saw the man who was standing in front of the gates, he heaved a sigh of resignation. Nope, he wouldn’t be able to get out of this predicant now.
"You seem to know who that man is?" Bai iyue remarked as she listened to the man sighing.
"He is Ling Chuan. The leader of the East Guard Patrol Team. He is quite stubborn and violent. I heard that he was in the army and still believes firmly in the army law. I think that he is the only one who is utterly loyal to Chief Yu."
Bai iyue nodded. She then glanced at the man through the rearview mirror and said to him, "Then what are you waiting for? Start your performance."
