Of course, Bai iyue noticed the anger in the eyes of the woman in front of her, but she ignored it. As long as Lu Yin didn’t make trouble with her, she was free to glare at her as much as she wanted. Anyway, there were a lot of people who were glaring at her these days; it wasn’t like their glares were making her lose a bit of fat. So why should she bother quibbling with them? It wasn’t as if she could gouge every eye that glared at her. If she did that, then what would be the difference between her and a tyrant? Not wanting to bother with Lu Yin, she turned her attention to Dacheng, who was smiling like a sly fox in front of her.
"It seems like you are doing well, Miss Bai," said Dacheng as he placed the bags that he brought along with him. Bai iyue took a look at the insides of the bags and saw the baby supplies. Dacheng said to her, "This is sothing that we brought for you; hope it will be useful when the baby is born."
He then glanced at her swollen belly and questioned, "When will the child be born?"
"Very soon." Bai iyue rubbed the bracelet that Lei Qian had made for her from the crystal nuclei that he had found in the mutated bugs. She looked at Dacheng and Lu Yin, waiting for them to say sothing, but when they didn’t, she frowned and questioned, running out of patience, "What are you doing here? You can just tell what is wrong this ti around."
Dacheng was not offended by the impatience that Bai iyue was showing. In fact, he was half prepared for this to happen. He curled his lips and glanced around the mansion. He had to admit that Bai iyue, despite being a woman, was really skilled. Not only did she arrange for a hospital to be built in this new base that she had created, but she also arranged for a circular wall around the base, along with watchtowers and machine guns handed to the guards. If not for the fact that he had already betrayed this woman, he would have loved to stay with her and beco a mber of this safe base.
"I heard that a lot of survivors have co to this safe base of yours?" He remarked.
"They have, so what about it?" Bai iyue asked with a frown.
"And do you know where these survivors ca from?" Dacheng questioned.
"From Yu Miaomiao’s safe base," replied Bai iyue, not understanding where the man was leading this topic.
"That’s right," Dacheng nodded. He looked at Bai iyue, who was still frowning and simply stated his purpose of visit. "We are not here to make an enemy out of you. The only reason we ca here is to give you a heads up."
Bai iyue arched a perfectly shaped brow. "A heads up?"
"That’s right," Dacheng nodded. "You might not be aware of this, but among the refugees who ca to look for a place to stay in your safe base, there are so who were sent here by Yu Miaomiao. I eavesdropped on their conversation before they left the safe base. They were commanded to bring the child you give birth to back to the safe house; this is to make sure that you will beco putty in the hands of Yu Miaomiao."
There were two reasons why Dacheng revealed this truth to Bai iyue. Firstly, he wanted to let her know that even though Bai Feng and Fox had taken control of the safe base, there were still so who firmly believed in Yu Miaomiao and wanted to follow her willingly, which ant that they would do anything that she asked them to do. Since they didn’t want Yu Miaomiao to fall, they would naturally listen to her.
Secondly, Yu Miaomiao still hadn’t given up on Bai iyue and Lei Qian. She knew that her condition was a bit perilous with Bai Feng, Chief Lin and Fox going out of control, which left her with no other choice but to target Bai iyue. As long as the woman was under her grasp, Yu Miaomiao was certain that she could take down Bai Feng and the rest with ease. Thus, she didn’t even think twice before sending a few n to infiltrate Bai iyue’s base. This showed that Yu Miaomiao still had so strength left.
As long as Yu Miaomiao could take control of that child that was in Bai iyue’s belly, she could easily take control of this safe base, which was bigger and better than the safe base where she was fighting a bloody fight for control against the mutated bugs, as well as the forces that had stood up against her.
Bai iyue frowned when she understood what Dacheng was trying to tell her. She raised her hand and pinched the space between her brows. Yu Miaomiao! That woman was like a cockroach; no matter how much she wanted to kill that woman, she just could not deal with her. She was as stubborn as a mule. She sighed and remarked, "And yet you ca here to tell this, are you not afraid that the spies will tell everything to Yu Miaomiao and make trouble for you?"
"Of course, we already know this," Lu Yin raised her head and replied. "However, you don’t need to worry. Since we dared to co here, it ans that we have already thought of a counterasure. And what’s more, we have already fallen out with Yu Miaomiao. Even if we didn’t co here, there is no way we could have joined hands with her. Since we have decided to follow Chief Lin, then we will see it to the end."
"Then why are you here?" Bai iyue frowned and asked. When she heard that these two had co to look for her, she thought that they had co here because they wanted her to take them to the safe base and give them a place to stay, but it seed like it was not the case. They might have co to apologise to her, but they didn’t co here to stay. This alone was enough for Bai iyue to stare at Dacheng with a bit more respect. At least the man had the guts to stay true to his decision till the end.
