Shen Zhen, on the other hand, was not used to facing soone with such a weird wiring. She blinked her eyes and turned to look at Bai iyue, as if silently asking if they really heard what she thought that they had heard and when Bai iyue nodded, Shen Zhen’s expression turned dark.
She glared at Xiao Chenye and reprimanded him, "And what kind of nonsense are you spouting? Do you think that giving birth is as simple as choosing clothes? If you don’t like one shop, you can just lift your leg and move to another shop? Does she even know how difficult the process of giving birth is? What if she has a difficult labour? Do you expect to carry that heavy dical equipnt to your door and help that woman give birth to a child? Is she my ancestor!?"
Shen Zhen was simply far too frustrated by the arrogance of that woman. Who did she think she was? And what if she had a hard ti giving birth? If they didn’t do the C-section surgery right away, then the child could even die due to the lack of oxygen.
She said to the man, "Go and bring her to the clinic. If not, don’t bla if sothing happens to that child. Tell that eldest lady of yours to think about the child, even if she couldn’t think of anyone else." Shen Zhen really couldn’t stand won like Fu Wan; they knew that the child in their bellies was dependent on them, but they would still make a fuss at the crucial juncture. Many of the won would use the children as a life totem and either use them to make their n marry them or transfer shares or properties. Though Fu Wan was not doing anything like that, Shen Zhen knew that this was a sort of power play. That woman wanted to use the child and make her go to the mansion where she was staying.
"Doctor Shen—"
"I am not going to follow you!" Shen Zhen snapped. Her voice turned harsh. "This is not the ti to throw a tantrum or make a fuss if that eldest lady of yours is not willing to care for her child; why should I care for him? I am telling you, babies are much more vulnerable to the doomsday virus, and they need to stay in the incubator before slowly being subjected to the doomsday virus in the air; this way, they would be able to build an immunity against the virus. Do you still think that your eldest lady should give birth in the open? If you want the baby to turn into an infant zombie, then you can go ahead and try it!"
"Why else do you think we have so many pregnant won with us? That’s because no one wants their child to beco an infant zombie. If that’s what you want, then I have nothing against it, but don’t badger to save the child if he gets infected."
Bai iyue also humd along and stated, "She is right. The doomsday virus is not harmful to us, but the babies are not as strong. What’s more, your eldest lady is a commoner; her immunity and abilities are weak. Even if your young master is a powerful ability user, your eldest lady’s genes will still drag down the baby. It will be better if you listen to Doctor Shen and bring the baby back. At least tell your eldest lady to understand her own abilities before making demands that she, herself, cannot fulfil."
When Xiao Chenye heard that there was a chance that the baby might turn into a zombie, he was startled. He imdiately turned around on his feet and ran back to the mansion. Behind him, Old Master Bai also followed. He was muttering about being tornted in his old age and how he would straighten his eldest grandson up when that brat turned up, but he still followed Xiao Chenye.
Shen Zhen turned to look at Bai iyue and said to her, "I will go and deal with this surgery. Fu Wan is a troubleso woman, but the child in her belly is innocent, and from what I heard, even the father of the child is a rather pitiful person. We can’t let his only child be ruined."
"Do you want to co with you?" Bai iyue asked. She had learnt more dical skills and was now quite confident in her own acupuncture skills and in making pills.
"You should rest," shaking her head in refusal, Shen Zhen said to Bai iyue, "You are also pregnant, and you cannot stand for long hours, if Fu Wan’s surgery can be solved with just alone, then I will deal with it, but if sothing happens, then I will send soone to call for you."
Shen Zhen had to admit that Bai iyue’s acupuncture skills had indeed gotten really good, but she hoped that she could do it without Bai iyue’s help, or else she would be putting strain on her body, and cue Lei Qian’s lecture.
Bai iyue nodded. She too didn’t want to save the life of Fu Wan and her child, lest that woman bla her for sothing else, but just like Shen Zhen said, the child was innocent. So if she had to step in for the sake of the child, Bai iyue was willing to do it. She watched Shen Zhen hurrying down the path with the nurses and the other doctors who were in training before letting out a yawn and going back to her bedroom. However, she didn’t go back to sleep because a nagging feeling kept telling her that she would be woken up very soon. So, she took out a book and started reading while listening to Ciyi, who told her about the man who kept sneaking inside the mansion but was not succeeding.
I followed him, master, and heard him talk about robotic nanites; it seems like Yu Miaomiao is planning sothing big!
"Robotic nanites?" Bai iyue narrowed her eyes, realising that Yu Miaomiao had really stretched herself by a mile. She actually ca up with robotic nanites. "Keep on following him; I don’t believe that he will not show his tail."
Got it, master.
An hour passed by in such a fashion and just as Bai iyue was thinking of going back to sleep, the sound of hurried footsteps jolted her awake.
"Miss Bai!"
