Now reading: Chapter 67: Seeing through things clearly from Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies, a Drama novel by fairytail72.

However, when Bai iyue approached the intercom, she realised that it was she who was thinking too much. She punched in the code and opened the door, before glancing at Lei Yan, who was standing outside her house with a slightly terrified look on her face.

It couldn’t be helped; Lei Yan was a little afraid of Bai iyue.

"Why did you co here?" Ignoring the scared expression of the little girl, Bai iyue asked in a polite tone.

Lei Yan mustered up her courage and put forth the request, "Miss Bai, are you going to hunt for supplies? If you are, then can you take us with you? We have enough supplies but we don’t know how long they will last. If you don’t mind, then we wanted to take a trip to the mall."

She paused and added, "In exchange, you can ask for anything."

At that mont, Lei Yan knew that nothing was more important than food. The entire city seed to be filled with an air of danger and Lei Yan was certain that the chances of everything going back to normal were not high. So, she might as well take advantage of this situation when the conditions were still under control and store as much food as possible.

Bai iyue pursed her lips. She did not wish to take any burdens with her but then she saw the pleading look in Lei Yan’s eyes as if she were silently telling her that she was not going to disrupt her trip and was going to be really good; her heart softened a little.

After all, Lei Yan was only fifteen or sixteen years old and she was to young to face such situations alone. She thought about it a little and then said to Lei Yan, "If you want, then you can exchange so antiques with . As for how valuable an antique or piece of jewellery you want to exchange, it will depend on you."

This could also be considered a test for Lei Yan. If she was smart, then she would bring sothing decent; after all, with the current situation, she would need Bai iyue’s help in the long run. But if she was a fool, then she might as well bring whatever she wanted and Bai iyue would only help her this ti around.

Her demand was not too much. She was taking Lei Yan outside, putting her life at risk.

Lei Yan pursed her lips and nodded. She agreed with what Bai iyue said and then asked her to wait for her. She needed to discuss this matter with her parents first. As this was not her penthouse and she had no idea what antique she could give to Bai iyue.

In case she gave sothing away that her brother liked, then Lei Yan was worried that her brother would skin her alive.

Bai iyue nodded and told Lei Yan, "We will be leaving tonight; if you want to co with us, then be ready by nine."

Lei Yan agreed before turning around and running back to her apartnt; she was worried that in case soone ca barging in, it would be too late for her to escape!

Once she returned ho, Lei Yan told her parents what Bai iyue had told her.

Upon hearing her words, Mother Lei hesitated. She didn’t trust this zombie and apocalyptic theory and was afraid that this woman was just trying to cheat things out of them.

But Father Lei was much smarter and wiser. He pursed his lips after he finished listening and then said to his daughter, "Go and bring the porcelain vase that your brother brought from the V city."

"Husband!"

"I know what you are thinking but I am not making a foolish decision." Father Lei raised a calming hand and tried to make his wife see things through clearly. "First of all, its because of Miss Bai that we were able to get out of Cloud City. If she hadn’t told us how to kill those things, we might already be dead. So in a way, compensating her for her help by giving away an antique is not too much of a loss."

"Secondly, you also saw how Qian’er was treating her. Its clear that he likes this woman a lot, so by giving her sothing decent, we might be able to bridge the gap between her and Qian’er. After all, you and I both know that unless our son likes a woman, he will not get married."

"Lastly, you also saw those things." Father Lei’s eyes darkened when he recalled those mutated beasts that chased after them even though they were smashed by a car. Even with half of their intestines hanging outside, they still attacked them fiercely.

It was such a terrifying sight that he felt sickened to the core.

He continued, "And you saw those things escape past those fences with your own eyes. Its clear that so of those monsters must have escaped to our city. It won’t be wrong that Miss Bai is taking quite a lot of risk by bringing Yan’er with her. Since that is the case, how can we be careless with her request?"

Unlike Mother Lei, who was a housewife and only knew how to handle the household finances and had no idea how to deal with worldly affairs, Father Lei was soone who brought the company that was in a slump to greater heights.

Back then, his elder brother sched against him and with his parents being biased, his elder brother took the better share of their parents’ properties while he was given the worse.

Yet, he could turn the tide around in just a few years.

So, how could he not see through things? Though he too felt that the theory of the world coming to an end was too far-fetched, with how the entire city was in chaos, how could these things be denied?

In such situations, it was better to take so precautions rather than being taken by surprise. What was more, he had heard Bai iyue’s words and was more or less aware of what she did to the people who tried to attack her.

No matter how he saw it, Father Lei was certain that Bai iyue was aware of sothing that they weren’t. As for why, he would worry about it later on when things settle down a little.

If only he knew that day would never co!
