"In short, you failed?" Bai iyue offered in a soft voice, and Dacheng’s expression changed slightly. He shook his head before stating firmly, "I didn’t fail. There were so slight hitches, but we cannot count them as a failure. We have taken most of the safe zone under our control. At most, we just need to deal with Bai Feng."
"And you think that you can deal with Bai Feng?" Bai iyue questioned with a soft curl of her lips. "Do you think that Bai Feng is like those little bosses you dealt with last night? If he were that easy to kill, then Yu Miaomiao wouldn’t have run to hide under his care."
"I know this. That’s why I ca here." Dacheng knew that he and the rest of the ability users could not deal with Bai Feng. He looked at Bai iyue solemnly. "We should deal with Bai Feng in the first strike. It will be better for us to kill him first before he makes a move, or else we will end up in a compromising situation."
"Be the first to kill him?" Bai iyue snorted. The expression on her face turned stern, and she glanced at Dacheng before saying to him, "Dacheng, how many lives are you going to take before you can finally reach your goal? Did you even sit down and count the number of people who died last night?"
Bai iyue did agree that Yu Miaomiao needed to be killed, and if they didn’t make a move, then Yu Miaomiao would certainly make a move first with that idiot Bai Feng. But what made Dacheng think that he could make her work for him? After swallowing Yu Miaomiao’s ability users, he wanted to take over Bai Feng’s team and supplies as well. He dreamt of making it to the top, and there was nothing wrong with it. But where did he get the confidence to use Bai iyue and Lei Qian as his assistants? Did he think that he could just order them around as he liked and they would listen to him?
He was either dreaming or had lost his mind.
"Of course, I do know how many people were killed last night, but for the sake of gaining sothing, so sacrifices are supposed to be made," said Dacheng with a soft smile. He didn’t look the least bit flustered as he looked at Bai iyue with his eyes flickering with calculations. "You might be thinking that I am making use of you, but in the end, you have to admit that we are grasshoppers in the sa boat."
If they didn’t kill Yu Miaomiao, then she would definitely attack not only Bai iyue but also Dacheng. She would try her best to take control of Bai iyue’s child such that she could control her and Lei Qian. As for Dacheng, Lu Yin and Chief Lin, that woman would certainly kill them for betraying her. Thus, even if Bai iyue didn’t like it, she and Dacheng were in the sa situation.
If they didn’t support one another, then the boat was destined to sink, and they all would die at the sa ti.
He slowly got to his feet and said to Bai iyue, "I do understand that you are feeling a bit hesitant to kill Bai Feng; after all, he is your brother. Even if he is just your half-brother, you two had a good relationship, but think about it carefully. Bai iyue smiled when she heard his response. She didn’t get angry as she slowly got up from the couch and supported her waist. With her eyes narrowing slightly, she remarked, "It seems like taking over more than half of the safe zone under Yu Miaomiao has gotten to your head. Do you think that I am being benevolent? No one wants to kill Bai Feng more than I, for he is the greatest obstacle in my path. I just don’t like the aggressive way you are handling things. You think that it will be easy for you to deal with Bai Feng and Yu Miaomiao, but you are forgetting that your team hasn’t gotten a chance to breathe. I would like to see how long you will be able to continue like this by pushing your team and Chief Lin to the extre. Sooner or later, you are bound to slip up."
Last night was one of the most hectic nights that Bai iyue had seen in her life. The ability users under Dacheng fought for the entire night. While so lost their lives, so were gravely injured, and yet Dacheng and Lu Yin had not stepped forward to give them a word of praise for their hard work. And they also wanted them to continue fighting; this was bound to backfire. People like Dacheng, who simply saw their goals, could never even think of such things. They were so drunk on the victory that they had forgotten to be grateful to those whose help they had needed to win this battle.
Perhaps Dacheng was thinking about getting those supplies into his hands to feed the ability users that he had taken over. Taking this opportunity to take down Bai Feng, he wanted to take over the ability users as well as the supplies that were under Bai Feng’s control. But according to Dacheng’s model, this won’t be just a one-ti thing. From what he was doing, this annexing of the safe zones would be his course of action in the future as well.
While Bai iyue didn’t think that there was anything wrong with annexing others, as this had been the course of action in the past as well as the future if soone wanted to grow stronger and more powerful, she just didn’t want to be led by the nose by Dacheng. It was true that she wanted to kill Yu Miaomiao, but she would kill her on her own terms rather than being pushed into the pit by Dacheng, who wanted to use her as a gunman.
