Bai iyue had no intention of doing sothing so useless. Since these people had no intention of swearing their loyalty to her, why would she waste her ti in doing so? She closed her eyes and continued her ditation without caring about what was going on outside. Her brothers would take care of it if anything happened. However, before she could even engross herself in ditation, she heard soone screaming and making a fuss outside her study. She furrowed her brows and opened her eyes just in ti to hear soone knock on her door.
"Co in," said Bai iyue, and a woman with dishevelled hair rushed inside her study with a sturdy man following her. She looked at Xiao Wu, who was dragging a woman by her arm and frowned even harder. "What is going on?"
Before the man could say anything, the woman rushed forward and knelt in front of Bai iyue, and she began to cry, "Bai iyue, Bai iyue, save ; I am being bullied. Please save —this man is bullying ."
"What nonsense are you saying?" Xiao Wu’s face flushed red, and a nerve started to throb in his neck. He walked forward and pointed to the kneeling woman in front of Bai iyue and said to Bai iyue, "Boss, I just saw this woman coming out of the house of a bunch of ability users. I just wanted to ask her what she was doing there because she was walking all funny."
The woman’s face turned red when she heard his words. She stiffened her neck and then turned to glare at Xiao Wu before saying in a high-pitched voice, "Xie Jinye and the other won following her can co in and out of n as they want to. So, why are you questioning and not them?"
The woman had finally raised her head, and with the sharp, glaring lights in the room, Bai iyue was easily able to see her face. When she saw who it was, she could not help but scrunch her face up. Bai iyue slowly got up from the cushion on which she was sitting and ca closer to the woman. She took one more look at the woman and exclaid in surprise, "ng Anzhi? What are you doing here? Were you not supposed to leave?"
ng Anzhi was still in her safe base? Bai iyue clearly rembered that she told the two ng siblings that she wanted to kick this woman out of the safe base. The two of them had agreed, so what was ng Anzhi still doing in this safe base? Bai iyue did not doubt the two siblings, given that they were loyal to her, but ng Anzhi’s appearance did leave a sour taste in her mouth.
"I...I..." ng Anzhi’s expression turned stiff. She was indeed supposed to leave. ng Suisui had told her that she needed to leave the safe base as soon as possible. After that, she did not care about ng Anzhi leaving her to fend for herself. In the end, she could only straighten her waist up and say, "Bai iyue, there are so many mutated bugs outside; how can I even think about leaving the safe base? Even though she hated Bai iyue and couldn’t stand her doing so well, ng Anzhi wasn’t stupid; she knew that she could not harm the defences. Bai iyue was an ability user, and she was protected by a bunch of other ability users as well. If she ssed up with the defence system, then even if she succeeded in sending the safe base into chaos, there would be no harm done to Bai iyue.
Why would she do sothing that could possibly harm her?
ng Anzhi would never do sothing that would harm herself. She was also in a hurry to clear the suspicion from her head. If Bai iyue decided that she had indeed done sothing wrong, then she would not waste another second to kick her out of the safe base. Was this man trying to kill her?
She lowered her head and spoke in an ashad voice, "I am not stealing or hurting anyone; I was just trying to earn so food for myself."
