When they arrived at the small automobile shop where the thugs were hiding, Bai iyue saw a few zombies lurking around the front of the shop. She assud that these must be Xie Yi’s gang mbers and sure enough she heard a soft whimper beside her.
"Little Zheng, Little Yao... you fools, why did you not run inside when you saw these dangerous things coming?" Xie Yi muttered as he stopped the motorboat in front of the shop and looked at the raised platform where the two zombies were moving along with four and five other zombies.
"You stay here," Bai iyue told the man and climbed out of the motorboat before rushing at the zombies. She chopped their heads off with the dagger in her hand as well as her special abilities. Of course, she was careful, as she did not want to disclose her special power so easily. The concept of supernatural beings was still unknown.
If she was caught, then Bai iyue was worried that the higher-up officials would try to recruit her for the sake of their protection. She only wanted to create a decent living environnt for her son where he could grow up without any worries. She had no plans on becoming an official.
Thus, Bai iyue controlled her strength and dealt with the zombies swiftly before taking out their zombie nuclei and absorbing them. Of course she left a few in her space pocket without using them.
She then turned to look at Xie Yi, who was staring at the corpses on the ground and stated, "I took care of them because I know that you will not be able to kill them; don’t bla for being harsh."
Xie Yi, of course, did not bla Bai iyue. He knew that his brothers were not going to return now that they had turned into these scary monsters. He was glad that Bai iyue had taken them down and had not asked him to do it but it didn’t change the fact that he mourned them.
After wiping his eyes, he raised his head and said to Bai iyue, "Don’t worry, Boss. I know that there was no point in keeping them alive; I will certainly not hold their deaths against you."
Bai iyue nodded in satisfaction when she saw that Xie Yi was smarter than he looked. In her previous life, there were often tis where people clung to their loved ones even after they turned into zombies and if she was to kill them, they would call her murderer and even try to attack her many tis.
So were crazy enough to plan revenge and even tried to kill her.
Compared to them, Bai iyue liked dealing with smart people like Xie Yi.
Xie Yi walked over to the shutter and then tapped on the tal surface lightly. "Baozi, are you inside?"
There was a clang followed by a yelp and soon the door on the side of the shop was opened.
A man with a baby face looked at Xie Yi in relief and whispered, "Boss, you are back? Co inside. Hurry, or else those things will co here."
Xie Yi didn’t waste any ti and entered the shop with Bai iyue.
Inside were twenty-five people in total.
When Xie Yi’s younger brothers saw that their boss had returned with a woman, they were quite shocked but not surprised. After all, they knew about Xie Yi’s lecherous attitude.
"Boss, we know that you like pretty girls but why did you bring one at this ti?" one of the underlings asked.
They didn’t have enough to eat themselves. If another mouth was added, what were they going to do? After the tsunami, they almost lost half of their people and supplies. They have nothing left and really cannot take care of a pretty woman who couldn’t do anything to help them other than beco baggage for them.
He was not the only one who was dissatisfied; so of the underlings were even more dissatisfied with Bai iyue’s appearance. They were looking at her like dogs who were guiding their territory.
"Shut up, what nonsense are you spouting?" Xie Yi panicked when he heard the careless words of his underling. He then glanced at Bai iyue and said to her with a flattering smile, "Don’t take his words seriously, Boss. This guy is just like this; he doesn’t know how to talk properly."
Boss? Why did their boss call this woman their boss?
"Boss, what’s going on?"
"Don’t call Boss. Start calling Brother Xie. Call her boss." Xie Yi glared at the n and then explained the matter to them. Once the underlings realised that this woman wanted them to steal from Official Zhou, they were all stunned.
A sturdy man with a scar who was standing at the back of the crowd sneered coldly, "Brother Xie, you have really lost your mind after spending a day with those monsters. How can you agree to this little woman’s idea? She is clearly trying to ride on our coattails to get the majority of the supplies and sending us away like beggars. I say if we are going to steal, then we take the majority of the supplies and you take ten boxes, pretty lady."
Xie Yi was angered by the words of Xiao Wu. He snapped, "What nonsense are you talking about? Miss Bai is not soone whom you can disrespect just because you want. It was because of her that I was able to return safely. How dare you say such a ridiculous thing to her?"
The scarred man looked at Bai iyue with disdain. "You don’t need to lie, Brother Xie. She is thin as a stick; do you think she can defend you against those monsters or the thugs who are waiting for us in the warehouse?"
"Other than her face, I don’t see why you are so eager to hand her the supplies."
"A good woman should stay at ho and cook for her man while warming his bed. You should also do the sa, Miss; instead of playing as a hero, if you are so scared, then you might as well follow . There is no need for you to lie —"
