Bai iyue was filled with satisfaction when she saw her brother awaken.
Yup, she deliberately ran downstairs because she knew that Bai Zhan would follow her. In her last life, she also awakened when she felt cornered and scared; thus, Bai iyue tried to use the sa tactics at her brother.
She knew that, as her eldest brother, Bai Zhan was much more protective of his siblings than she was of her son when she was pregnant with him in her last life. And yet she was still able to awaken, so compared to her, Bai Zhan’s chances were even higher.
As for why he awakened a different set of powers, Bai iyue did not care about it. Instead, she was quite glad that her brother was able to awaken as a defensive-type supernatural being.
With her job done, Bai iyue stopped playing the role of a pitiful damsel in distress. She raised her dagger in the air and started cutting the heads of the zombies, not forgetting to smash their heads open to collect the nuclei.
"Brother, take those shiny gems like crystal. I think it is sothing good," she told her brother, who seed both confused and disgusted by the rotten blood and flesh that were sticking to his hand.
Bai Zhan looked up and exchanged a gaze with his sister before scooping out the crystal nuclei from the head that he had smashed just now. Even though the sensation made him feel as if he was going to puke his dinner, he still listened to his sister.
After all, he was able to survive till now thanks to her.
Bai iyue calmly slashed another head and saw three zombies approaching her. She then looked at her brother, who was still having a hard ti controlling his newly awakened powers.
Thus, she decided to drag these zombies close to her brother such that Bai Zhan could ’use’ these monsters to learn how to control his powers. She took off the technical ring that she had stolen from Lei Qian after their first night and threw it at her brother.
"Brother Zhan, use this."
By then, Bai iyue already understood that her brother was an elental-type supernatural being.
That ring was made from special elents, which ant that it was much stronger and sturdier than the gold bracelet.
Bai Zhan caught the ring and stared at it helplessly. He did not know how he was able to do it the first ti and wasn’t confident that he would be able to do it again. That was until he saw a zombie almost taking a bite out of his sister.
Seeing the zombie charging at his sister, he did not think twice and rushed towards Bai iyue. His right arm turned solid just like the left one; however, it looked like it was pure silver. He fisted his fingers and brought it down the head of the zombie that was about to take a bite of Bai iyue’s neck.
"Stay back; brother will deal with these monsters," he told Bai iyue.
Hearing her brother’s words, Bai iyue paused, and her eyes started to sting slightly. How she had longed to hear those words in her past life. But no one was willing to care for her. Now that she heard her brother say that he would protect her, Bai iyue felt her heart feel both sour and happy.
She was really a fool to follow Bai Qingshi in her last life!
"Brother, don’t attack these monsters anywhere else. Just attack their heads; it seems like thats their weak spot," stated Bai iyue with a hoarse voice.
As Bai Zhan finished kicking another monster away, he turned to look at his sister, whose face was pale and her eyes red. He said to her, "Don’t be scared. Yueyue, don’t be scared; brother is with you. Big brother will protect you."
After he finished speaking, he roared at the zombies and started hitting them as if he had been injected by sothing. He was a supernatural being; thus, with his strength, it did not take Bai Zhan longer than five minutes to clear most of the zombies.
As he killed them, he didn’t forget to pick up the crystal nuclei as Bai iyue asked him to. He then moved to clear the rest of the zombies that were left intact.
However, just as Bai Zhan was about to slam his fists into Manager Ni, who turned into a zombie, soone shouted,
"NO! Don’t hit my father! Don’t kill him."
Bai Zhan was startled when he heard the scream, causing the zombie to lunge at his throat.
Seeing this, Bai iyue moved at once. She first slamd the dagger in the head of the zombie and twisted it cruelly before instilling enough water essence inside the head of the zombie such that it exploded like a water balloon.
And just as his head exploded, Bai iyue pulled her brother away from the corpse.
Manager Ni fell to the ground just as a young man rushed forward to hold his father’s body. He looked at the mutilated corpse of his father and glared at Bai iyue and Bai Zhan hatefully.
"You killed my father! You murderers, I will never let you go." As he spoke, he got to his feet and charged at Bai iyue, who simply raised her foot and kicked the man back down.
Ni Baoguo was thin and slender to begin with; the second Bai iyue kicked him with just a fraction of her strength, the man was knocked down.
"Who killed who?" she sneered. "It was your father who took these refugees in, even though I and many of the residents told him that there was sothing wrong with them. If he had used half of his brain and stopped these people from entering the building and hadn’t given them a place to stay, then he would be alive today."
"So gets your fact checked, your father died because of his foolishness. We didn’t kill him; he was already dead. What we killed was a monster."
After she finished speaking, she turned to look at her brother and said to him, "Let’s go back, brother; we will stay in the house for a few days."
Bai Zhan was more than eager to return ho and nodded without saying anything. He was feeling shaky and terrified, which was why his entire body was trembling with fear.
Bai iyue touched her nose guiltily when she saw her brother shiver and reached out to hold his hand to support him.
The two of them walked away without caring about Ni Baoguo, who was still glaring at Bai iyue as if planning how to kill her.
