4:30 PM, twilight.
Li Yu and the others have been traveling for nearly two hours since leaving the Western Alliance.
The road was not easy to travel on due to the hitched vehicles and sowhat slippery ground. The convoy traveled for nearly two hours, covering just under 100 kiloters.
At least, they had left the boundaries of Cheng City, which, after the Doomsday, beca one of the cities with the densest population of zombies.
During the Doomsday, almost everyone could drive. With no traffic rules or concerns, and most vehicles being automatic, driving beca incredibly simple.
All you needed was to learn how to start the car, brake, press the gas, and after a few laps, and a few crashes, you’d get the hang of it. Appearance wasn’t a concern...
Li Yu was driving the Unimog at the front, and on highway G5013, you could still see water stains on the ground.
Dapao and the others followed closely behind, chatting while driving.
"Brother Yu, I just checked the map; there’s a Liu Family village 20 kiloters away. Maybe we can camp there tonight," Dapao’s voice ca through the walkie-talkie.
Li Yu controlled the vehicle with his left hand, and with his right hand, he tapped on the iPad in the center, entered Liu Family village, and assessed that it would take about half an hour to get there.
He then said, "Alright, let’s take a look."

They quickly reached the ramp exit, but while getting off the ramp, Li Yu checked the map and saw the highway interchange up ahead, at least thirty ters above the ground.
Li Yu thought for a mont and said, "The Liu Family village is right after the ramp exit, but I see many residential buildings below, which ans more zombies. I think we should camp on the elevated highway ahead."
Camping on elevated highways was not new to them.
There are several advantages to camping on an elevated highway.
The first is the elevation from the ground, with only a few support pillars between; even if it rains, zombies can’t climb up and can only approach from the highway’s sides.
Secondly, the entrance on the elevated highway is narrow. Even if zombies co at night, they only need to deal with those at the entrances on both sides. If it rains, they could even use C4 explosives to blow up one of the entrances.
Moreover, the interlocking highway network provides them more buffer space.
If it doesn’t rain, they just need to block the highway entrances with so abandoned vehicles before nightfall to sleep peacefully.
Li Yu’s proposal won the approval of Li Tie and the others. They decided not to exit to Liu Family village and continued to the elevated interchange.
Ten minutes later, they reached the highest point of the highway.
The highest part of the highway is more than thirty ters from the ground. Li Yu opened the car door, stepped out, and after surveying the surroundings without noticing any zombies, he removed his helt and took a deep breath.
Wearing a full-face helt can protect the entire head, but it’s easy to feel stuffy after prolonged use.
The dim, yellow sunset illuminated the deserted residential buildings. The peeling walls and plants growing on them, coupled with the creaking iron doors swaying in the wind, evoked an uncontrollable sense of desolation.
In the other direction of the overpass was a green belt, a large area with lush greenery and flourishing vegetation.
Dapao and the others disembarked as well. After seeing them get off, Li Yu said to Dapao and Li Gang, "Dapao, Gangzi, go and move those abandoned cars to block the road ahead and behind us."
After hearing Li Yu’s order, the two got out of the car, untied the towing rope from the trailer, and drove a car over.

Yang Tianlong and Li Tie went to help as well, while Li Yu launched a drone into the sky, controlling it to circle around the area twice.

Li Yu glanced at them and said, "Alright, grab sothing to eat. Let’s rest early tonight and set off early tomorrow."
After speaking, he continued looking at the screen of his drone, controlling it to fly back to the elevated highway.

This wasn’t their first ti doing this, so they had so experience.
Setting up obstacles on an elevated highway involved using abandoned cars on the road. First, you could drag so small cars about a hundred ters away, as this was relatively easy. It was best to use several small cars for increased protection.
Then find a few larger vehicles and pull them closer to their location, followed lastly by their own vehicles.
