Li Yu nodded and said, "Much better. Grandpa had another acupuncture session this morning, and he’s looking much improved."
"That’s good. Do you need sothing from ? You could’ve just called on the intercom instead of going through all this effort to find ."
Third Uncle heard Li Yu say that his Grandpa’s condition had improved and continued eating his tomato, speaking as he ate.
Li Yu walked towards Third Uncle, and once close, he began to speak:
"It’s just that it’s not convenient to discuss over the intercom, afraid it might be unclear.
The main thing is about Old Bi. The food supply in Oil City is running low, and today I received news from them that the typhoon is subsiding. It’s ti to deliver the food over there."
Third Uncle paused slightly when he heard the news, but quickly resud his actions.
"I thought it was sothing big, just delivering so food, right? A round trip takes about six hours; we can handle it in a day. So, when should we deliver it?"
Third Uncle found Li Yu’s task straightforward.
Li Yu coughed twice and then said to Third Uncle, "Well, the situation in Oil City is quite complex now. Zombies have been blown into Oil City by the typhoon. Old Bi and the others are hiding indoors, plus the drainage is blocked with debris, causing flooding in Oil City... We need you to help draw the zombies away, so they can co out from indoors..."
Third Uncle pondered for two seconds, finished the remaining bit of tomato, chewed and swallowed, then wiped so tomato juice off his hands onto his clothes.
He then took out a pack of cigarettes, lit one, and said to Li Yu, "In that case, we might need to refuel midway."
"The helicopter has enough range to make the trip."
"But once there, we can’t ensure attracting those zombies or shooting them from the air in a short ti. Hovering the helicopter will consu fuel.
If we hover for over half an hour, the helicopter might run out of fuel, which would be troubleso, so we must refuel on the way."
"But."
Third Uncle slowly puffed out smoke, smiling as he talked to Li Yu, "Don’t worry, I’ll handle it. Just give a ti when we should go."
Li Yu felt relieved hearing Third Uncle say no problem.
The typhoon just passed, and no one knows what they might encounter on the road.
Luckily, there’s a helicopter. Without it, under the typhoon’s havoc, clearing a path would take a long ti, and Old Bi and the others clearly don’t have much ti to wait.
Their food supplies are running low.
"Old Bi said the typhoon has significantly weakened over there today, and should be gone by tomorrow, so I think the sooner we go, the better — preferably tomorrow."
Li Yu thought for a mont and then said to Third Uncle.
Third Uncle wasn’t too surprised when he heard they had to leave by tomorrow.
He said, "Alright, let’s start preparing the food today. Let Jackals go with ; we don’t need too many people."
Li Yu frowned and said, "Won’t two people be too risky? How about having Uncle Qin and Uncle Ant go with you as well; a few more people would be safer."
Third Uncle said with a smile, "It’ll be fine."
Li Yu insisted on having Old Qin and Ant go along.
They needed to refuel midway; last ti, he returned to Big Camphor Tree Base on the helicopter, and refueling wasn’t simple.
With two more people, it could be quicker.
At least during refueling, having two others to observe the surroundings makes it safer.
Seeing Li Yu’s insistence, Third Uncle agreed.
After they finalized the plan, Li Yu imdiately asked Li Hang and Li Tie to take people to move the food from the warehouse onto the helicopter.
He also asked Old Qin to conduct a thorough inspection of the helicopter.
If the helicopter runs into issues mid-journey, it wouldn’t be a joke.
Both inside and outside the base were busy at this mont.
Thanks to everyone’s effort, the scene inside and outside the Big Camphor Tree Base no longer resembled the imdiate aftermath of the typhoon.
However, among the Cooperative and Extra Staff living outside the base, so had their hos heavily damaged during the typhoon.
They could only squeeze together with others.
Seeing this situation, the vague plan in Li Yu’s mind was slowly taking form.
Currently, the Big Camphor Tree Base’s model involves Extra Staff and Cooperative Personnel living nearby, centered around the base.
Five outposts have been set up.
Now, so flaws are erging: with an increasing number of people, no new houses built outside the base, these Cooperative and Extra Staff are living in pre-Doomsday houses.
With more people, the housing is insufficient.
Anyway, outside the base, the wooden fences built by nurous Cooperative and Extra Personnel were destroyed.
Expansion is imperative.
Moreover, there are issues with the locations of the five outposts.
Furthermore, outside the base, none of the five outposts have been properly constructed, and are just chosen based on safe and visible locations.
