After a small number of zombies swam over, under the narrow walls, it was also very difficult for them to pile up high enough to enter the North District.

Huff, huff—

Hai Chao trembled as he put down the spear in his hands.

A few days ago, when he accidentally stabbed a zombie, his hand was cut without enough care.

In the acid rain.

His right hand starting from the initial red spots, began to peel.

Then it festered, and now the festering had reached a point where even the tendons inside could be seen.

All day in the acid rain was pretty much like soaking in a pool of it.

The corrosion from the acid rain exacerbated the wound on his right hand.

Ah—

Hai Chao used his left hand to cover the right, trying hard to keep the acid rain from wetting the wound.

He had just stepped through the door when he spotted a one-eyed man.

It was Duan i, who had lost his right eye to acid rain corrosion.

After the initial swelling of the right eye, the lens inside beca problematic, making his vision increasingly blurred, until two days ago, when he completely lost his right eye.

All he could do was take a cloth and cover his right eye.

Hai Chao staggered into the hall, then returned to his own room.

The room had no lights on; ever since the diesel shortage, electricity at Juzi Island head had beco very tight.

They couldn’t go out to search — zombies prowled everywhere.

Therefore, besides Gan Shang’s room, only the hall had electricity.

Hai Chao bit a flashlight in his mouth, his right hand hanging limply like it was broken.

With his left hand, he opened a drawer looking for sothing.

After a long search, Hai Chao’s forehead began to sweat, on the back of his right hand it felt as if soone was cutting into his flesh.

The pain was unbearable.

Suddenly, he rembered, and sprang up to rummage through a cabinet near the head of the bed.

"Finally found it." Hai Chao looked at a 500ML bottle of alcohol, along with a pack of cotton swabs and a bandage.

This was from a dical kit he found when he went out to search for supplies initially.

Hai Chao took out a bottle of alcohol, cotton swabs, and other items from the dical kit.

He sat directly on the floor, beads of sweat dripping down.

Hai Chao, biting the flashlight, shone it on his right hand.

His right hand’s back and the base of the thumb were oozing pus, red flesh mingled with yellow pus.

The stench.

The sll of rotting flesh was pungent.

Thinking about what Gan Shang told him today, Hai Chao couldn’t help but bitter smile.

Humans are indeed selfish, just asking for so anti-inflammatory drugs and alcohol, they didn’t give him any.

People are always this fickle, just a few days ago patting his shoulder and saying luckily you’re here.

The next mont, they had completely changed faces.

Luckily, he was not foolish.

When he gathered supplies before, he didn’t hand in much, he also made a small stash for himself.

Food, weapons, dicines, he had it all.

He put the tweezers directly into the bottle of alcohol for disinfection.

Then he took the tweezers out.

The necrotic flesh had adhered into one piece, and had grown into a sack, inside of it were yellowish pus fluids.

He had to puncture this sack and disinfect it with alcohol in order to prevent further festering.

Using the tweezers, he grabbed the transparent skin and gently ripped it.

The acid rain mixed with pus flowed out all at once, dripping onto the floor.

Hai Chao clenched his teeth, held his breath, and remained silent.

Little by little, he tore open the rotten skin, exposing the necrotic flesh underneath.

Hiss—

You could barely see the bone inside.

This layer of rotten skin, Hai Chao did not tear off directly.

Again with the tweezers, he cleaned the necrotic flesh bit by bit.

Bean-sized sweat droplets fell from his forehead.

Two minutes later.

Finally cleaned up.

Huff—

Hai Chao took a deep breath and gasped for air.

Excruciating pain!

The anger in his eyes grew more apparent.

Three days ago, he was already injured, asked not to go out to fight zombies, but Gan Shang insisted on him going with the reason "everyone is injured."

The fact was indeed so, under the all-day acid rain, everyone had skin diseases.

There were more or less problems occurring on their bodies.

Clean water sources beca increasingly scarce, they could only drink water mixed with acid rain.

If he hadn’t been in the rain dealing with his wounds three days ago, the wound wouldn’t have festered to this degree.

Hai Chao looked outside the door resentfully.

Two seconds later.

He put the tweezers down.

Next was the crucial step.

Rinse with alcohol for disinfection.

This 99% alcohol, poured on the wound, caused pain unbearable, ten tis worse than sprinkling salt on it.

Hai Chao’s neck veins bulged out, his eyeballs all but popping out.

With shaky left hand, he sprinkled alcohol on his right hand.

Four seconds.

Those four seconds felt as long as four years.

Hai Chao was in so much pain he couldn’t breathe, but he didn’t make a sound.

After finishing with the alcohol, he covered the torn skin back over the wound.

Then he wrapped his right hand in a bandage.

Huff, huff—

Hai Chao felt his consciousness get a bit fuzzy.

With his left hand, he fumbled and found a bottle of anti-inflammatory drugs.

He directly poured the pills into his mouth from the bottle, uncertain how many, four or five, perhaps.

Then he finished the remaining half bottle of spirits in one gulp.

After drinking, he lay straight down on the bed.

Right hand resting flat.

In the darkness, Hai Chao felt as if soone was pulling at his head.

As if soone wanted to extract his soul, he felt a separation of consciousness and body.

The hazy feeling made him temporarily forget the pain in his right hand.

As if he could stand mid-air, overlooking his own body.

Truly ridiculous.

Hai Chao’s consciousness detached, looking at his body lying on the bed.

Acid rain continued to pitter-patter outside the window.

Outside the door, occasionally, there were one or two painful moans.

You couldn’t hear them clearly, but they kept coming intermittently.

Hai Chao looked at the ceiling, his mind fluttering with thoughts, thinking about random things.

Tomorrow, he didn’t have to go to the wall anymore.

Even if he had to, he wouldn’t.
