The Asura’s Deathly Gaze had activated.

Gyn felt it instantly...

There was a pressure on his mind that made him feel a chill down his spine...

It was not a painful experience, or because he felt fearful of that eye, but because he suddenly realized that it was too silent...

There was no sound of the breeze touching the grass, no engine sound coming from the airship, or even the footsteps he made were so silent!

There was only confusion in his mind!

His casting flow slowed... His thoughts staggered and the spells he cast were cancelled...

Sreas didn’t need to speak. His gaze alone disrupted the ntal barrier required for high-speed casting. It wasn’t a spell but it was a suppression technique that only Asuras could possess.

It was a trait of the Asura lineage!

Gyn gritted his teeth and forced a Divinity surge through his spine, breaking the effect...

He was caught off guard, but he wasn’t helpless against it.

He cast a spell again... This ti, he used his Chaos Divinity to destroy the Deathly Gaze’s effect on him. Then, he targeted the area around Sreas!

’This Asura is using a mysterious power... It’s difficult to analyze it at this point... I should force him to use more of that.’ Gyn thought as the ground beneath Sreas twisted, trying to anchor him in place while draining his energy.

But Sreas didn’t resist... He was fully aware of how strong his body was. He didn’t mind the Chaos Force coming right at him...

He even challenged it!

His lower right arm slamd into the ground, sending a wave of Divinity Force outward... The energy flow reversed just like that...

Then, his upper left arm launched a thread of compressed Divinity to disrupt the Chaos Immortal’s attacks...

Then, Sreas dashed forward to grab Gyn!

"You--!"

Gyn barely raised a barrier before Sreas reached him.

Four arms struck in perfect sequence! Two targeting his shoulders, one aiming for his throat, and the last driving toward his chest.

Bam! Bam!

The barrier cracked, then shattered.

Gyn was thrown back, sliding across the plain.

Ooommph~

He coughed once with blood in his mouth.

Sreas stood where he’d landed, silently observing Gyn and the rest of the Chaos Immortals watching the battle. He wasn’t foolish enough to fully trust them to commit to their promise not to interfere.

After all, he believed that these Immortals have no honor whatsoever...

Still, Sreas’s eyes dimd again.

The Deathly Gaze had already faded... It used too much of his Divinity after all.

Nonetheless, its effect on Gyn’s body lingered.

"Hu~"

Gyn pushed himself up, panting.

"You’re not just strong," he muttered. "You’re built to dismantle spellcasters like ..."

Sreas didn’t reply.

He simply raised one hand... and the shadows around him began to shift again.

The duel wasn’t over.

But the difference in level was becoming impossible to ignore.

***

In the anti, far above the battlefield, on the deck of the lead airship, the Chaos Immortals watched in silence.

The duel had started as entertainnt...

Now, it felt like a miscalculation.

Kent’s eyes squinted as he observed the exchange below.

Gyn had been thrown back... twice.

His barrier was shattered, and his casting rhythm was easily broken. And Sreas hadn’t even drawn a weapon...

"He’s losing ground," Arin muttered... "That Asura’s not just fast. He’s reading Gyn’s casting flow like a book. So this is how an Asura fights. This is a good lesson."

"It’s not like we’ll encounter another Asura. Based on what I heard... That Sreas is the only Asura here." Nyssa muttered as her gaze remained locked on the battlefield... Her fingers would even twitch slightly as if preparing a contingency spell.

She was already imagining herself fighting against the Asura...

If she were in Gyn’s position, she may also face so difficulties, but in the end, the Chaos Divinity would still win against the simple thod of the Asura.

Neylan, however, scoffed.

"Relax," he said. "Gyn hasn’t even started."

Kent glanced at him. "You think he’s holding back?"

"He is," Neylan replied. "You’ve seen his Forbidden Arts. He hasn’t touched them. Not one."

Arin frowned. "Those spells aren’t free. They cost him his life force, his soul energy, even his spirit. He can’t just throw them out casually."

"He doesn’t need to," Neylan said. "Not yet."

Kent didn’t respond imdiately. He was calculating. Sreas had already demonstrated suppression techniques, Divinity manipulation, and multi-limb combat techniques. He wasn’t just strong, he was built to counter Chaos spellcasters.

Still, Neylan’s point was valid.

Gyn hadn’t activated any of his Forbidden Immortal Spells.

Not Soul Burn, which could amplify his casting speed at the cost of mory.

Not Spirit Chain, which allowed him to bind an opponent’s core, sbut risked fracturing his own.

Not Blood Echo, the spell that turned his own injuries into mirrored damage against his enemy.

Kent exhaled sslowly.

"If he uses them," he said, "we’ll know the outco within minutes."

Arin nodded. "Or we’ll lose a general."

Neylan shrugged. "That’s war."

Nyssa finally spoke.

"If Gyn activates a Forbidden Spell, we’ll need to monitor the backlash. His aura will destabilize. If it spreads to the airship, we’ll have to isolate him."

Kent turned back to the battlefield.

Sreas was still standing calmly, his four arms shifting slightly as the shadows around him started rging...

He hadn’t moved since his last strike. He was waiting.

Gyn, below, was breathing heavily, but his eyes were sharp. He was still capable of continuing the battle.

He hadn’t given up.

Kent then looked at the city from his elevated position and confird that the outer wall had already fallen. If Sreas couldn’t win anyti soon, the city he was trying to protect would be destroyed...

"Let’s see what he’s willing to sacrifice." Kent muttered as he waited for Gyn to use his Forbidden.

In the anti, a few kiloters away from the plains where the duel was happening, a figure silently appeared, watching the battle unfold...

This figure looked extrely casual, like a commoner, but since he passed through a tear in space, he was certainly not normal...

"Ho~ An Asura fighting a Chaos Immortal. This looks fun..." Xan, the Void Immortal, muttered in excitent.
