Actually, Wang Yun didn’t need to accompany them. The reason he did was to ensure the show’s producers didn’t try to shortchange him. For every weapon found, he expected an equivalent prop weapon from the show.

“Where the hell did these guys get all this stuff? So many guns!”

“Wow, even grenades! Damn pests!”

Two officers were stunned when they saw the large bag full of weapons. Wang Yun, on the other hand, enthusiastically squatted down and began ticulously counting the items, growing more excited with each discovery.

This puzzled the nearby officers. Had Wang Yun beco so imrsed in his role?

“I didn’t know you were into firearms,” one officer remarked with a smile. “When the show’s over, would you consider joining us?”

Their spirits were high after capturing the remnants of the drug cartel. Wang Yun quickly shook his head at the suggestion.

“Let finish the show first,” he said, standing up and brushing off the dirt from his clothes, looking quite satisfied.

“I’ll be off now. Thanks for the hard work.” He turned and left, moving as quickly as a rabbit.

Halfway back, Wang Yun turned on his cara. The live broadcast resud.

“What was Big Bro up to? Why did the stream cut off?”

“Don’t ask, you know he was handling important business!”

“Just wait and see the news tomorrow!”

“Big Brother is amazing. I’ve already co up with so cheers for him. I’ll post them online soon, making so predictions!”

“Great idea! I’m going to be a fortune teller too: ‘Major news tomorrow, stay tuned!'”

The viewers in the livestream had grown accustod to this. Whenever Wang Yun was about to handle sothing important, he would cut the stream. Though they worried, the outcos were always positive.

anwhile, the executive producer, seeing the stream back up, finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Just as the director was about to speak with Wang Yun, his phone rang. It was a call from Director Fang.

Director Fang had just finished watching the livestream. He was still concerned about the recent events.

“What kind of producer are you? How could you let Wang Yun get involved in sothing so dangerous?” He’s just playing a role in the show. He’s not a law enforcent officer, and those people are dangerous drug dealers. If sothing really happens, can you take responsibility? If you want your show to continue, stop getting involved in these situations.”

Before the producer could say a word, Director Fang unleashed a torrent of scolding. The executive producer was stunned.

“Director Fang, please calm down. I had no idea this was happening. Our show doesn’t have a script. I’m worried too. I got the news in the middle of the night and rushed to the TV station imdiately.”

The producer was on the verge of tears. He hadn’t wanted this. He had been sound asleep when a call woke him up, and now his heart was still racing. If this kept up, it wouldn’t just be Wang Yun in danger. He feared he’d end up needing a coffin himself.

His words did nothing to appease Director Fang, who only grew angrier.

“I don’t care. If this happens again, I won’t participate in your show anymore. The show will be over, and I’ll take in Wang Yun myself.”

Bang!

With that, Director Fang hung up the phone. The ensuing busy signal felt like a sledgehamr hitting the producer’s head. The staff nearby didn’t dare make a sound. They had clearly heard Director Fang’s furious yelling through the phone.

“Executive Producer… it seems the inspectors have also caught wind of this and are heading to find Wang Yun,” one staff mber said timidly, keeping an eye on the live stream.

“Let them go! Why are you telling ? If the inspectors didn’t know about this big of a commotion, they’d have to be idiots,” the producer shouted back, causing the staff to flinch and lower their heads.

Weren’t you the one who told us to report any updates from the livestream…

No one dared speak now. It was clear that Wang Yun’s latest actions had pushed everyone to the edge.

***

anwhile, the mastermind behind all this, Wang Yun, was leisurely strolling down the street. He had just left the village, where the lights were now blazing brightly. The earlier gunfire had woken everyone up, and with so many police cars and officers around, no one could sleep. People in their pajamas stood outside with flashlights, looking around and gossiping.

“Producer, I counted the firearms earlier. Soone will inform you of the exact number. Rember to give the sa number, one for one,” Wang Yun said into the chip, his voice filled with glee.

The viewers in the livestream weren’t surprised anymore. They had already guessed what had happened, and Wang Yun had indeed taken action.

Wang Yun continued talking for a while, but the executive producer hadn’t responded yet.

“Don’t back out on ,” Wang Yun mumbled.

The producer’s low voice finally ca through, “Don’t worry. But please, Brother Wang, don’t pull stunts like this anymore. I can’t take it.”

“Please.” This word sounded like it was spoken through gritted teeth, suppressing long-held frustration.

Hearing those words, Wang Yun raised an eyebrow and chuckled awkwardly. If the viewers heard this, they would’ve gone wild. This was probably the first ti in a variety show that a procure had pleaded with a contestant.

Huh?

Just as Wang Yun was feeling great and heading back to his place, he noticed three cars approaching from a distance. Black sedans. Seeing cars on the road wasn’t unusual, but having three sedans appear simultaneously at this hour was odd. And they were heading toward the village he had just left.

“Not bad, they’re pretty quick,” Wang Yun muttered, then swiftly ducked into the nearby bushes.

Sure enough, with his enhanced vision, he clearly saw the people inside the cars. It was Wang Yue and Wu Yaoming. The two sat in the front, followed by the show’s inspectors.

“But you guys are still late.”

Once the cars had passed, Wang Yun stood up and quickened his pace. He made it back to the abandoned building in half an hour.

Brother Hu and the others were anxiously waiting.

“Why isn’t Boss back yet? He’s been out the whole day,” Brother Hu grumbled.

“When I went out to get food, I overheard so workers saying there was a young guy at the market who got hit multiple tis. They said he was a celebrity and ran off without asking for money. Could that have been Boss?” Little Gang said nervously.

Brother Hu and Wang Zi exchanged glances. It was obviously him.

“If I had known, I would’ve insisted on going with him. He’s using himself as bait, which is incredibly risky,” Brother Hu said as he pounded the wall in frustration.
