Wang Yun strolled out. He looked smug and totally unimpressed. He’d been wondering where these guys had gone, but it turned out they were just waiting for him to find them. And he’d even saved them while he was at it. How convenient.

“What are you planning, Wang Yun?” one of them shouted.

Wang Yun was standing just a ter away from them—close enough to practically be face-to-face.

In this thick fog, he’d have to stay nearby, or they’d lose sight of him entirely.

He raised an eyebrow at their question.

“Planning? What do you think? You’ve all been chasing down, playing cat and mouse. Well, guess what? Now it’s my turn to be the cat.”

Looking at them all tied up, Wang Yun couldn’t help but enjoy the mont. The four captains exchanged glances, and their faces went pale. It was ga over. With everyone tangled up like this, there wasn’t much hope of getting out.

Captain Marley was stuck to the tree with spider silk, while Captain Hardy was lying on the ground, his legs completely trapped. Captain Werner’s hands were bound, and three other inspectors were caught in the sa ss.

The only ones who could move at all were Captain Alfa and his man. But Alfa was a geographer, an academic at heart. When it ca to a physical fight, he was no match for Wang Yun, and neither was his team.

Wang Yun could knock them all over with just one finger. Anyone could see how this was going to play out.

“It’s over. Another four captains down!”

“Tsk, tsk, they should count themselves lucky to run into Wang Yun. Only he’s bold enough to save them!”

“Right? Who else would dare to wade through this thick fog to help? Especially with a giant poisonous spider lurking around!”

“Forget the show! Your life’s on the line here!”

The livestream chat was going wild. Even Director Fang’s livestream was blowing up. He’d been holding his breath. The executive producer looked like he was about to have a ltdown. If anything serious happened on set—especially with eight people at risk—his career was over.

“This Wang Yun, his guts are only getting bigger. But, gotta admit, he’s smart,” Director Fang said proudly.

A celebrity next to him nodded.

“Yeah, who else would wander around in poison fog at night? That’s wild!”

Director Fang bead with pride, like Wang Yun was his own protégé.

“Smart kid. He’s sharper than that geographer out there. He knows everything’s afraid of fire, so he just tossed a torch. Problem solved.”

As he spoke, Director Fang whipped out his phone and snapped a picture of the screen. The celebrity beside him looked puzzled.

“Director Fang, what are you doing?” the celebrity asked, looking puzzled.

Director Fang chuckled, a bit embarrassed.

“This is the first ti Wang Yun’s been in complete control like this. Look at these ‘cats’ all tied up in spider silk, and there’s Wang Yun, standing over them like a proud eagle, savoring his prize,” he said. “I have to capture this mont. Maybe this pic will convince him to join one day.”

Director Fang grinned at his phone, clearly pleased with himself.

The livestream viewers couldn’t help but laugh. Who would’ve thought that the renowned Director Fang would resort to such a sche just to recruit a disciple?

But really, who wouldn’t want Wang Yun on their team?

anwhile, back in the mountain forest, Wu Yaoming and his crew had found a relatively safe spot to settle down. No one was actually sleeping, though. The lizard they’d encountered earlier had them all spooked.

Who knew what might show up if they closed their eyes?

They were all wide awake, keeping a sharp lookout.

Then, suddenly, a faint whistle sounded from sowhere in the distance. It was the signal whistle each of them carried. If soone was in danger, they’d blow it, and everyone would rally together.

“It’s Hardy and the others!” Wu Yaoming shot to his feet.

The whistle was getting louder and faster.

“They’re in trouble!”

Everyone sprang up imdiately. If it had been one person hearing things, that would be one thing, but there was no way they were all wrong.

“Stay sharp, and let’s head toward the sound. Nobody panic,” Wu Yaoming called out.

He sounded calm, but he was feeling the rush himself. He’d gotten up too quickly, and with how little rest he’d had lately, he felt a bit dizzy. Fortunately, no one seed to notice.

“Move out!”

With his command, the fifty of them headed toward the southwest corner. Every whistle made their worry grow. If fifty of them had struggled with the dangers here, how much worse must it be for just eight?

And the poisonous fog wasn’t helping.

The whistle wasn’t far off, but the thick fog made it feel like they were moving in slow motion. Still, it kept them focused, and they quickly forgot about the lizard incident from earlier. They all moved toward the sound without hesitation.

Sure enough, the whistling was coming from Hardy. But he was blowing it because he had no choice.
