“Yeah, you’re right, I’m not that nice.” Wang Yun chuckled and casually gestured to the group behind him. “I’ve got six of your teammates with . If I wanted to brag a little, I’d say all fifty of you here wouldn’t even stand a chance against .”
As he spoke, Wang Yun reached up and pulled off his gas mask. The mont he removed it, everyone froze, their faces filled with shock.
“What—what are you doing?!” Wu Yaoming shouted, utterly baffled.
Taking off his gas mask here was undoubtedly a death sentence.
Was he trying to get himself killed? What was he thinking?
Wang Yun tossed the mask aside without a care. Hands in his pockets, he looked completely at ease.
It was then that everyone noticed sothing strange—Wang Yun was totally fine. The poison mist blanketing the entire area didn’t seem to affect him at all. Not only that, but he looked like he was enjoying it.
“You… you’re immune to the poison?! How is this possible? Are you even human?!”
Hardy, lying weakly on the ground, forced himself to look up at Wang Yun, his face pale with fear.
Wang Yun shrugged and said, “So, do you believe now?”
They believed him. Fifty of them combined wouldn’t be able to beat him. The guy could ignore the poison mist entirely. That alone made him faster, freer, and way more dangerous than any of them.
Wang Yun didn’t even have to lift a finger. Just standing there like this was enough to make everyone believe him completely.
“What are you planning next?”
Wu Yaoming’s lips pressed into a tight line, the veins on his neck bulging. He had a vague idea of what Wang Yun wanted to do. He was afraid that Wang Yun went through all this trouble for that person.
“You’re all going to trade my brother, Xiao Gang, for your lives.”
What? Trade for Xiao Gang?
The viewers were stunned once again, though it did make sense. If not, with Wang Yun’s actions so far, he’d have wiped them all out without a second thought. But now, he was keeping them alive.
“I’ll give you ten seconds to decide. After that, for every second you hesitate, you lose a teammate. Ti starts now.”
Wang Yun glanced at his watch and raised a hand, signaling the countdown.
“Seven.”
“Six.”
“I warn you, don’t go too far. Xiao Gang turned himself in willingly,” Wu Yaoming shouted.
“What you’re doing it’s no good for him! You’re pushing him into the abyss!”
“Three.”
“Stop this madness! Turn yourself in and accept justice! That’s the only—”
Bang!
“Argh!”
“Ti’s up,” Wang Yun said flatly, lowering his smoking gun. Captain’s Alfa man crumpled to the ground.
“Let’s try another,” Wang Yun said, pulling the trigger again.
Another program inspector collapsed.
“Stop!!” Wu Yaoming shouted desperately.
Bang!
A third fell.
“I—I’ll do it! I agree!!” Wu Yaoming finally scread, his scalp tingling as he glared at Wang Yun, his body trembling violently.
Wang Yun slowly holstered his gun, his gaze cold as ice.
“See? If you’d agreed earlier, those three wouldn’t have had to suffer.” Wang Yun’s voice was calm, almost casual.
Wu Yaoming’s eyes reddened, a mixture of sha and humiliation washing over him. The program inspectors were all frozen in fear, their faces pale. They felt like ants being toyed with—utterly powerless.
They had guns too, but not a single one of them believed they could take Wang Yun down in a direct confrontation.
No one had that confidence. And no one dared to try.
“I agree!!” Wu Yaoming shouted through gritted teeth, his gaze flickering to the three fallen comrades.
“I heard you loud and clear. No need to repeat yourself,” Wang Yun said. “Now, Wu Yaoming stays here. Everyone else, turn around and leave the way you ca.”
“If I don’t see Xiao Gang by sunrise, you’ll be looking at the corpses of these five captains.”
Wang Yun narrowed his eyes slightly, his presence as cold and oppressive as the embodint of death itself.
“What are you waiting for? Move,” he barked when he saw them standing there, dazed.
His sharp command sent shivers through the group.
“Go! Do as he says,” Wu Yaoming growled, his voice trembling.
The team mbers snapped to attention and scrambled to action.
“But, Captain…” one hesitated.
“Tell them we’re fine,” Wu Yaoming said quietly, his tone low but firm.
The aning was clear. They shouldn’t even think about bringing reinforcents to retaliate. They were hostages now. Wang Yun would have undoubtedly prepared for any surprise attacks.
Hearing this, the team mber nodded, turned, and hurried off to follow the instructions. This ti, their retreat was much faster than before.
Wu Yaoming stayed behind.

Five captains sat under a tree. The spider silk binding them had been removed, but none of them dared to move. Their heads hung low, they looked like defeated roosters, their faces full of frustration and helplessness.
anwhile, Wang Yun had sohow scrounged up so firewood and lit a fire.
No one could figure out what he was thinking by burning a fire in this stifling sumr heat. The flas roared, making the already muggy air even harder to breathe. Sweat dripped in large beads down their foreheads, but none of them dared to take even a step back.
Every living creature instinctively feared fire. They understood that. But this fire was way too close for comfort.
anwhile, in the livestream, the audience was completely hooked.
“This is the first ti I’ve seen those captains so defeated. Where’s all that swagger from before?”
“That fire’s obviously there to humiliate them. Look how far Big Brother is sitting from it!”
“I can’t! This is killing ! It’s so ridiculous! They’ve totally swapped roles!”
“Love it! This is so satisfying! We’re finally getting Xiao Gang back!”
“Five Captains for Xiao Gang. His value just skyrocketed!”
The livestream chat exploded, with the comnts flying faster than ever. Despite it being the middle of the night, the energy in the livestream was at an all-ti high.
