It had been a week since Zhong Tian Yun sent his summons to the Ice Palace. In that week, he returned to the sa mountain a few tis, giving a regular check to make sure nothing suspicious happened.
He could not find anything, even though he kept coming back to check on that suspicious mountain. He beca more impatient and concerned that the Ice Palace might side with the Heaven Founder.
"This is concerning..." He muttered behind his table while reading the report in his hand.
The situation was sohow stabilized after he deployed the Heavenly Fortress and the Sky Hall. The Heaven Founder was no longer as brazen as before.
The only bad news was when two dium-sized sects, Scarlet Valley and Silent Phantom Sect, were destroyed overnight. By the ti the Heavenly Fortress got there, the two sects were no more.
When it was reported as no more, not just the people, but the buildings were flattened. The Silent Phantom Sect’s secretive base was flattened, and the valley where Scarlet Valley resided disappeared.
That was quite concerning as it showed the Heaven Founder had an expert of his caliber, or maybe even stronger. "It seems I have no choice but to recall them..."
He sent a ssage to his friends as he might need them to face the Heaven Founder. He realized that the Heaven Founder might not just be a group with a big ambition. The Heaven Founder had a force that could beco a threat to the Murim Alliance.
After sending the ssage to his friends, he called his secretary, who had been working nonstop along with him, sorting out all the reports.
An old man with a white scholar’s robe entered the room and bowed his head toward the Alliance Leader, "Do you need sothing from , My Lord?"
"Have we received an answer from the Ice Palace yet, Old Zhou?"
The old man shook his head, "We haven’t received their answer. I have sent them three more ssages after the first one."
The old man realized the severity of the situation as his eyes squinted slightly. He could have three possibilities why the Ice Palace was not answering the Murim Alliance’s summons.
First, the Ice Palace was still upset about their disciples who died in the Dragon and Phoenix Tournant. Not only did they lose their talented disciples, but they also lost three Elders and five core disciples.
Second, the Ice Palace made the sa decision as the Dongfang Family to betray the Murim Alliance. This possibility was not as high as the first possibility.
Third, sothing happened to the Ice Palace that made it unable to answer its summons. But if sothing happened to the Ice Palace, they should be asking for help from the Murim Alliance if it was sothing they could not resolve.
Old Zhou believed the Ice Palace was throwing tantrums and might want compensation for what happened. However, he could not cross out the other two possibilities.
"Do you need to check on them, My Lord?"
The Murim Alliance had the teleportation formation set up for all major factions. That was set up in case the Murim Alliance was under attack and in danger, so they could help the Murim Alliance. It worked two ways; the Murim Alliance could help the major factions that were in danger as well.
There was a problem with the formation. It took a lot of resources and ti to activate the formation. But they were prepared with the resources after what happened with the Dongfang Family.
They tried to activate the formation to send reinforcent. Unfortunately, the Dongfang Family destroyed the formation on their side. That was the reason why the reinforcent from the Murim Alliance was late.
They could use those unused resources to activate the teleportation portal to the Ice Palace and check out what actually happened in the Ice Palace.
Old Zhou might appear as a harmless scholar on the outside, but he was a 5th-Stage True God Realm. He was not just an ordinary secretary, but soone who had been following Zhong Tian Yun for a long ti.
Zhong Tian Yun furrowed his brow, not liking the idea. Not that he didn’t trust Old Zhou, but the Ice Place had its Grand Elders. If the Ice Palace truly betrayed the Murim Alliance, then they would not allow Old Zhou to return alive.
Alliance Leader Zhong stood up from his chair, "Let’s visit the Ice Palace and find out what they are up to."
Old Zhou’s eyes widened, clearly disagreeing with the idea of the Alliance Leader leaving the Immortal City, "But we need—"
Zhong Tian Yun raised his hand, stopping Old Zhou from finishing his words, "Co on, Old Zhou. We are using teleportation formation. We can return anyti, and bring The Warden with us in case the Ice Palace has gone rogue."
Sky Hall and Heavenly Fortress were considered a faction, but The Warden was a private force that comprised thirty people. They were the elite force that always followed the Alliance Leader. Old Zhou was the leader of The Warden.
When The Warden was ntioned, Old Zhou no longer opposed the idea of the Alliance Leader visiting the Ice Palace.
The teleportation formation was set in the tower north of the Ice Palace. The Ice Palace didn’t allow the Murim Alliance to set up inside their sect.
The Ice Palace didn’t allow any n to enter their sect without their authorization. Even if they allowed n to visit, those n were only allowed to visit a certain area.
Zhong Tian Yun stood at the edge of the pit with a deep frown. He spread his internal energy to scan the area, yet he failed to pick up anything.
"What actually happened here?"
He didn’t ask his followers. If he didn’t know what happened, there was no way for his followers to know as well.
"Check the surroundings!"
The thirty individuals who stood behind Zhong Tian Yun disappeared instantly.
The Ice Palace was supposed to stand where the pit was, but there was no more Ice Palace. He looked down at the pit and could see the hazy bottom, which was nothing.
He expected to see dead bodies deep inside, or maybe rubble of the Ice Palace’s remains. But there was nothing. It looked like the Ice Palace had been taken out of this place and moved sowhere else, which sounded unbelievable and crazy.
"I don’t know if it’s good news or not, but at least we know the Ice Palace doesn’t betray the Murim Alliance."
Old Zhou finally said sothing. That was the only positive thing he could say about the Ice Palace’s disappearance. Of course, it was not good for the Murim Alliance to lose one of its major factions.
