Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Dragon knights, a council, half-elves, an empire... So that ans the other side is definitely another world with a well-developed civilization system, right?
Soul Society’s Villain: Yeah, we can pretty much confirm that.
Machete Girl: And what’s more, it’s a civilization with strong aggressive tendencies. What do they an, ’conquest announcent’? That’s just a declaration of war before invasion, isn’t it? The key point is, they’re doing this invasion so openly and brazenly.
Scarlet Lotus Fairy: Don’t forget they openly call themselves an empire. The very nature of an empire is to expand through aggression.
Machete Girl: Hmm, at least they’re slightly more upfront than the Arican empire.
Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: That’s right. The Arican empire just invades sneakily. They satisfy their colonial needs by propping up puppet proxies. But in essence, it’s still that sa imperialist playbook.
This is an Actor: Oh? You see that clearly now?
Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Yeah, Mr. Deadpool. You see it clearly now? You wouldn’t have talked like this before; you were always going on about human rights, freedom, and all that. What is this now? A sudden awakening?
Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Dammit, I was just deceived! Those bastards’ deception tactics are way too clever, even soone as smart as got caught in their trap!
Doujin Artist: "Soone as smart as you"? Are you telling jokes again?
Eriri felt utterly speechless, absolutely speechless. With Deadpool’s half-baked brain, he dares call himself "smart"? Who on earth gave him the courage?
Taking a deep breath, Eriri concealed her body within the "Light-Bending" effect and turned her gaze to the two dragon knights in front of her. They seed to be having so sort of disagreent now, arguing quite fiercely.
"Rod, that’s enough!" Klier, sitting on the green dragon’s back, shouted, "Our first contact mission is complete. We should take the results back to His Majesty now!"
"It’s not enough, it’s nowhere near enough." Rod shook his head with a vicious grin. "Don’t forget, we haven’t delivered our announcent yet. These stupid natives haven’t truly witnessed the might of our empire!"
As he spoke, he looked towards the location of Tokyo. "There! If I’m not mistaken, that should be where the natives are gathered. That’s our real target, the true objective!"
"You’re doing sothing very dangerous, Rod." Klier sighed. "We don’t know this world’s military strength yet. Rushing deep into their gathering place could cause a disaster!"
"Military strength?" Rod scoffed. "You an these flimsy little toys? They can’t possibly threaten us. You’re being too sensitive."
"But the Empire’s eighteenth law states we cannot massacre indigenous people who are about to be conquered!"
"No, no, no. They are not ’about to be conquered’ right now. They’re still trying to resist, aren’t they? The wound on Derek’s belly is proof."
"You’re twisting words, Rod! This is not sothing a commander of the Empire’s honor should do!"
"Enough!"
Rod shot her a cold glance. "A re half-elf, daring to point fingers in front of ? Do you really think His Majesty values you? No, you’re just a reserve plaything for him! And as for the so-called laws of the Empire, they’re really just for show. True law cos only from personal strength!"
"You..." Klier was stunned, her expression turning grim.
Eriri wasn’t sure which part of Rod’s words stabbed at her heart, the first part or the second? Did this girl actually have so expectations or fantasies about that so-called Majesty?
No way, no way! These days, even elentary school kids on our side don’t believe in Cinderella rags-to-riches stories anymore. And you, an adult, are still that naive?
Huff.
Just as Eriri was internally criticizing, Rod had already urged his red dragon to speed towards the coastline. Klier stayed where she was for a mont, gritted her teeth, and followed.
Wooon wooon.
Across the sky over Tokyo, the urgent wail of an air raid alarm sounded.
When the Northern Sea Fleet was completely destroyed, the island nation’s higher-ups had already received definite news. Now, with the dragon knights attacking, their hearts were shrouded in gloom.
On one hand, they had called for ergency evacuation planes and started planning their escape. On the other hand, they were urging the Self-Defense Force soldiers to head to the coastline to protect the holand.
But in reality, this was pretty much useless because the dragons flew too fast. Before the Self-Defense Force soldiers could even make it from their bases, the red dragon had already appeared in the sky over Tokyo.
And, as it happened, right above the Governnt Office.
"No! Soone..."
"I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die!"
"Director Ito, where is the Self-Defense Force now?"
The high-ranking officials in the Governnt Office were in complete chaos. Many of the spineless ones even ran to the rooftop to kneel and surrender. To save their own skins, they didn’t even consider if the other side could understand, just launching into a stream of bootlicking and pledges of loyalty.
The island’s citizens who saw this scene were dumbfounded, their faces showing shock and disbelief. These were their public servants? These were the so-called ’finest n’ who kept shouting they would live or die with Tokyo?
Disgusting!
The citizens’ hearts were filled with utter disgust at that mont, many of them even trembling with rage.
"Drop dead, monster!" One balding middle-aged man was so angry he started cursing at the red dragon, picking up a stone from the ground and throwing it at the dragon.
At that mont, his actions seed to ignite the suppressed anger in others’ hearts. People began using similar thods to vent long-held dissatisfaction and fury.
Stones, lighters, and bricks flew like raindrops towards the red dragon high in the sky. Clearly, such attacks wouldn’t affect it in the slightest.
However, these spontaneous actions of the citizens made Rod feel intense anger. He felt the dignity of his status as an "Honorary Commander" was being challenged.
"Burn them, Derek!" Rod decisively gave the order to the red dragon beneath him. The dragon’s maw opened, spewing a crimson tongue of fire.
Whoosh.
The sky over the entire area was illuminated bright crimson by the blaze, thick, billowing smoke spreading everywhere.
"Rod, you’ve gone too far!" Klier, who arrived shortly after, took in the entire scene, her face showing indignation.
"What?" Rod grinned widely, laughing arrogantly. "Did this scene stir up so old mories for you? In the Aran Forest... huh?" He stopped mid-sentence, suddenly sensing sothing was wrong.
He looked down at the area he had just attacked. A semi-transparent, peculiar energy shield stood erected before his eyes.
