"Yep, just near the Hokage Rock," White Zetsu replied cheerfully. "And the only one guarding it... is Hatake Kakashi."

"I understand." Pain slowly nodded and took a step forward.

His movent made Sarutobi Hiruzen and the others tense up, ready for battle. But to their surprise, Pain didn't attack them. Instead, he turned and ordered, "Kakuzu, Sasori, Juzo. Your task is to hold them off here."

"Can we kill them?" Biwa Juzo grinned, revealing his sharp teeth.

"Do whatever you want." With those cold words, Pain rose into the air.

"Wait!" Sarutobi Hiruzen sensed sothing was wrong and tried to stop him. However, just as he stepped forward, a massive blade slashed toward his neck.

Boom.

Blocking the attack with his iron staff, Sarutobi Hiruzen frowned at his opponent. "A rogue ninja from Kirigakure... Biwa Juzo?"

"That's right! And your opponent is , Third Hokage of Konohagakure!" Biwa Juzo grinned widely, showing a mouthful of sharp teeth.

Rumble.

The eastern part of Konohagakure trembled as a massive, dark green giant wielded a spiral-shaped blade. Every swing of its arm carved deep trenches into the ground, turning what was once a wide and smooth street into a battlefield of destruction.

"Damn it! Our attacks aren't working on this thing at all!"

"What kind of monster is this?!"

The remaining Iwagakure ninja were exhausted, their faces filled with fear.

"Retreat! Fall back!" The battered Kitsuchi gritted his teeth and shouted, "We can't handle this!"

Hearing the order, the Iwagakure ninja finally sighed in relief and scattered in all directions.

Shisui's Susano'o didn't chase them. Instead, it stopped its attack.

"Did we... win?"

"They finally retreated."

"Phew, this ti there won't be any more surprise enemies, right?"

Standing safely behind Susano'o, Kurenai, Mitarashi Anko, and the others looked relieved.

Swoosh.

Suddenly, a blurred figure streaked across the sky above them.

"What was that?"

"Looked like... a person?"

Kurenai, Anko, and the others looked up, watching the figure move at an incredible speed, quickly leaving them behind.

"That direction..." Uchiha Shisui's eyes widened as if he realized sothing. He imdiately deactivated his Susano'o and used Body Flicker to chase after the figure.

Whoosh.

Holding Naruto in his arms, Kakashi dashed through the narrow alleys, his expression filled with urgency and worry. "I need to get out of here fast and find a safe place."

That strange, pure-white creature that had appeared just monts ago gave him a bad feeling. Kakashi was sure it was Danzo's doing—Danzo had found Naruto's location.

Swish.

A sharp sound tore through the air.

A figure descended from above, blocking Kakashi's path.

Orange hair. tal piercings in his nose and lower lip. A black cloak with red clouds. His expression was calm yet carried an overwhelming sense of superiority.

But what shocked Kakashi the most were his eyes—pale purple, with ripple-like patterns spreading outward. A strange and powerful gaze.

"Who are you?" Kakashi frowned.

"I am God." Pain spoke flatly, raising his right hand. "Shinra Tensei."

Boom.

The mont those words fell, Kakashi felt an invisible force slam into him, sending him flying backward.

Bansho Ten'in!

Pain's raised hand didn't lower. Instead, he clenched his fingers again, and Kakashi, still midair, was suddenly yanked forward as if he had been grabbed by an invisible hand. Pain caught him effortlessly, like picking up a small animal.

"Konohagakure's ninja... you have no future." Pain's grip tightened, and Kakashi's face turned pale. "This world will be ruled by God."

Buzz.

Just as Pain was about to crush him, a sharp flash of a blade suddenly cut through the air.
