Now reading: Chapter 95: The Secret Benefactor Revealed from As Stuart Bloom In TBBT, a Adventure novel by WhatIf4132.

September 2010. Tuesday afternoon.

My accountant calls.

"Stuart, quick question."

"Yeah?"

"Soone paid your Pasadena shop rent for three months. July through September. Directly to the landlord."

"What?"

"$12,600. Transferred from a business account I don't recognize."

"That's—wait. Soone paid my rent?"

"Yes."

"Without asking?"

"Apparently."

I check my business account. The money's there. Untouched. I budgeted for rent. Paid it myself.

Except soone else paid it too.

"Can you trace the source?"

"Corporate account. Chen Holdings LLC."

"Never heard of it."

"Want to dig deeper?"

"Please."

Two hours later, he calls back.

"Chen Holdings is registered to a business manager. David Wu. Client list includes—Wil Wheaton."

Wil.

I text him imdiately.

: Did you pay my rent?

Wil: Took you long enough to notice.

: Why?

Wil: Call .

I call.

"You sound annoyed," Wil says.

"I'm confused. Why did you pay my rent?"

"Partnership. I invested $150K for 17% equity. Wanted to make sure you had cash flow freedom during the San Diego expansion."

"I could afford the rent."

"I know. That's not the point."

"What is the point?"

"Confidence. Showing my belief in the partnership. Could've structured it as a loan. But that's transactional. I wanted—supportive."

I'm standing in my Pasadena shop. Jake's restocking. Custors browsing.

"Wil. That's—"

"Too much? Overstepping?"

"Generous. Unexpectedly generous."

"You're building sothing real. I want to help."

"You already invested—"

"Money's easy. Support's different. Knowing soone believes in you? That matters."

I sit down. Office chair squeaking.

"Thank you."

"You're welco."

"I would've been fine without it."

"I know. That's why I did it. You didn't need it. I wanted to give it anyway."

An hour later, Wil shows up at the shop.

In person. Unannounced.

"Figured we should talk face to face."

We sit in the office. Door closed.

"I'm telling people about you," Wil says. "Investors. Industry contacts. Your fourth shop? Could have funding lined up before you sign a lease."

"I'm not looking for more investors."

"Yet."

"Maybe ever."

"Stuart. You're building an empire. Whether you admit it or not. Fourth shop next year. Fifth the year after. Orange County. Riverside. Maybe San Francisco."

"That's—ambitious."

"That's inevitable. Your model works. Your reputation's solid. Your partnerships are strong. Scaling is the logical next step."

"And you want in on that scaling."

"I'm already in. I want you to succeed. Which ans encouraging growth."

He's right. The model works.

Each shop generates $12-15K monthly revenue. Operating costs around $8K. Net profit $4-7K per location.

Three shops = $12-21K monthly profit.

Plus consulting inco. Plus investnts.

I'm making $300K annually now.

And that's before Bitcoin explodes.

"What do you want from this?" I ask.

"Partnership. Not just financial. I want to build sothing aningful. You're creating community spaces. Cultural hubs. That matters."

"And the 17% stake?"

"Is worth $850K at current valuation. Could be worth millions if you keep growing."

"Could be worth nothing if I screw up."

"You won't."

"That's—confidence."

"That's observation. You don't make stupid decisions. You plan carefully. Execute well. Learn from mistakes. Those traits create success."

He stands. Offers his hand.

"Thanks for the partnership. And for letting support you."

We shake.

"Thank you for believing in ."

After he leaves, I sit in the office.

Staring at the wall.

Wil Wheaton paid my rent for three months. $12,600. Just to show confidence.

That's—real partnership.

Three years ago I was ordering 100 copies of Iron Fist by mistake.

Now I have a business partner who believes in enough to support without being asked.

The Magnetism power created the connection.

But the partnership is genuine.

That's the difference.

Powers open doors.

People walk through them.

I pull up my WEALTH_PURPOSE docunt.

Add a note:

When wealth fully manifests, pay it forward. Support others the way Wil supports . Success multiplies when shared.

Katie texts: Dinner at yours? I'll cook.

: Perfect. See you at 7.

I close the laptop.

Lock up the office.

Three shops running smoothly.

Strong partnerships.

Amazing girlfriend.

Secret wealth growing.

And the mory still tingles about Emma Chen.

Like she's waiting.

Sowhere in the future.

But right now, I have Katie.

And that's enough.

For now.
