***

The rest of the weekend passed and the disagreent didn’t end. Father and son tried as hard as they could to convince the other that they were right.

To his credit, Lucian didn’t put his foot down as Caius’s father and demand that he be obeyed. He actually welcod Caius’s counters. Even if he dismissed them easily. Still, Caius’s stubbornness pushed the Von Helsing Lord to draw close to throwing his weight as his father around.

They spent the rest of the weekend mostly in each other’s company. They had breakfast together where Caius had a ’side’ of Wyvern blood before they headed for the Arena for training. Caius believed he had healed enough and was well aware he had a lot of rough edges as far as his Mage-Knight techniques were concerned so he wasn’t interested in taking the day to rest.

At the end of the day, by the ti Caius went to bed, sore from the day’s exercises, he and his father had still yet to co to an agreent.

Co morning, the two had a mostly quiet breakfast. As though they had agreed to stop arguing about matters of Caius’s education but didn’t feel all that enthusiastic to fill the need for a topic with their usual non-arguntative jibber-jabber.

The good thing about the impasse though, was that it fell in Caius’s favor. For the mont, he was able to return to Lochxen.

There were a few days left before the school closed for the Mid-Sester break which should last about a week so the students had a chance to return to their families and rest from the turmoil of school before then returning with fresh minds.

Caius couldn’t help but worry that the mont he was out of school for that week, his father would finally snap and lock him up, not allowing him to leave even after the Mid-Sester Break was over.

Lochxen was fairly bustling that morning. The incident of the weekend was still fresh on everyone’s mind. So of the First Years still nursed so leftover soreness but the overall energy was up.

For one, as the last few days before the Mid-Sester Breaks, class schedules were more lax, leaving room for the students to do whatever. Still, there was worry at the back of their minds as the results of the tests would be out before the start of the break.

It was technically why they were all still at school for these few days and hadn’t started on their breaks already.

Caius overheard so students wondering if there would still be results, following the events of the weekend.

Caius had to say, he agreed with the one who said there couldn’t possibly be results. After surviving that ordeal, the last thing a student should have to worry about is whether they failed their tests.

He was entering a corridor to start the walk to the cafeteria where he hoped Kaya and the others were, when he sensed a pair of eyes on him. He turned around and t the dark beady but very intelligent stare of a bird.

A black bird— A Raven.

"Karen," Caius called in recognition, "Good morning."

Caius could have sworn he heard the Raven make a ’harrumph’ sound as she turned her head to the side haughtily.

Caius just smiled.

"Do you have a ssage for ?" He asked.

That question was a formality because of course the Raven had a ssage for him. After all, it had never sought him out of its own volition.

With a flap of its wings, Karen lifted off the arch she was using as a perch and flew down to grab Caius’s jacket with her talons and pull him. Caius was lifted off the ground by about five inches and Karen flew him down the corridor before starting to make turns in directions Caius found familiar.

It was a little awkward to be hoisted by the armpits but Caius liked to think he made it work. Thinking that helped him not feel self-conscious.

As he was carried past a couple of students, they glanced at him and they didn’t look at all close to a laugh. They looked like they were admiring him actually.

But that didn’t an he didn’t look stupid. The events of the weekend when Caius, Delia, and Aurelius had saved the entire First Year Class, had earned him a good bit of admiration.

At so point, Caius considered telling Karen to drop him. After all, it was obvious where they were headed now and he could walk on his own. However, once he got past the awkwardness, it didn’t feel too bad to be carried.

Karen didn’t sound at all strained throughout. Caius was sure she could carry him much higher and for much longer than this. Her rating was surely well past Five-Star and judging her by her size would be a terrible error.

Eventually, Karen dropped Caius at the door to Lea’s office while letting out a deep *Craw* sound. The door clicked and swung open right after as Karen led the way in with Caius just a foot behind.

Lea was leaning against her desk. Her hands were gripping the edge and there was that longing look in her feline-blue eyes that she had had two days ago in the Headmistress’s office. Only even more intense now.

"Thank you, Karen," Lea said, "I’ll be sure to treat you to a snack later."

Karen let out a sound like she thought the idea of being rewarded with a snack was beneath her but Caius could sense her anticipation. A portal Gate appeared by Lea’s permission and Karen flew through it so the Gate could close. Leaving Caius and Lea alone in the office.

"Good morning," Caius greeted with a light smile.

"Morning," Lea said.

"Was it your idea that I get carried here?" Caius asked gently, taking a few steps toward the Study of Magical Beasts’ Professor.

"I asked her to get you here quickly. The technique was all hers though," Lea said, and let a minute pass better she let out a sigh,

"Listen, Caius..."

Caius was about two feet away from her now and he held a hand out to place a finger to her lips.

"Is that really why we’re here?" He asked, amused, "To talk?"

He had a few things in the tone Lea had spoken with; Regret. Sha. A desire to apologize.

It didn’t take much for Caius to see that Lea believed herself at fault for what had happened. For no other reason than that she had been in charge of preparing for the Mid-Sester Tests.

After all, she was Lochxen’s resident Forest expert. She should have known such would happen. She shouldn’t have put the students— put Caius in such danger.

But Caius knew that in no way had it been her fault. It had been his fault and he knew that once he explained things to her, she would agree.

But he wasn’t interested in doing that just yet. Talking was not at all at the top of the list of priorities right now.

He placed his hand on the back of Lea’s neck and leaned closer to capture her lips. With her pulse quickening, Lea seized him up, raising one leg to instantly press her thigh against his side before eventually wrapping the leg around his waist to pull him closer.

Caius groaned into the kiss. Lea groaned right back. Their tongues exited their mouths at the sa ti, entangling before making their way into Lea’s mouth where they danced around each other better taking things into Caius’s mouth next.

With one hand working its way through Lea’s thick body of hair, Caius placed his other hand between their bodies, resting it above the high rise of her large breasts. He unsnapped her buttons and let her shirt fall open. All so he could dip his hand into one of her bra’s large cups to grab and fondle the delectable tit it held.

With the back of his hand pulling the cup down to expose the breast even more, Caius took his mouth off Lea’s and dipped his head to suck her nipple into his mouth.

Much to Lea’s groaning delight.
