The ruined district burned beneath waves of crimson-gold fire.

Collapsed buildings smoldered under spreading sovereign flas while shattered streets glowed with molten cracks that pulsed like veins through the dead industrial zone. Black smoke curled into the storm-filled sky above the Imperial City, mixing with drifting ash and flickering embers that floated through the night air like dying stars.

Dark spiritual formations continued pulsing across the battlefield.

Ancient symbols spread beneath broken stone roads while unstable ntal waves distorted the surrounding atmosphere. Entire sections of ruined structures trembled under lingering pressure left behind by the clash between sovereign fire and hidden suppression techniques.

This was no longer a simple ambush.

No longer an ordinary assassination attempt.

Both sides had already realized that much.

The hidden faction understood Aether’s danger now.

And Aether understood sothing equally important in return.

These people were not random enemies sent by jealous nobles or opportunistic factions within the empire.

They belonged to sothing far larger.

Sothing older.

The battlefield itself had entered a strange stalemate.

The cloaked operatives maintained perfect positioning despite the overwhelming sovereign flas spreading through the district. Even while forced backward repeatedly, their formation never truly collapsed.

ntal suppression waves rotated continuously in carefully tid intervals.

Shadow restraints erged from blind spots with frightening precision.

Long-range beasts only attacked after layered setup conditions were completed beforehand.

Disciplined.

Efficient.

Cold.

Like trained hunters cornering dangerous prey rather than warriors fighting a battle.

Standing amidst the burning streets, Aether watched everything silently while the Heaven Eye continued analyzing the battlefield at terrifying speed beneath the hidden locket resting against his chest.

Golden threads spread endlessly through his vision.

Movent paths.

Reaction timings.

Formation synchronization.

Every detail unfolded before him continuously.

Then suddenly—

Aether understood what had felt strange since the battle began.

These people fought similarly to Kael Draven.

Not through overwhelming force.

Not through arrogance or domination.

But through calculated battlefield control.

Every movent served a larger structure.

Every action layered into another.

They fought like people trained to hunt stronger opponents through preparation and precision rather than direct superiority.

The realization made the atmosphere feel even more dangerous.

Because organized enemies were always harder to predict than emotional ones.

The tall cloaked leader finally stepped forward personally.

Dark-gray spiritual energy spread lightly around him as his boots touched the broken street beneath drifting embers. The surrounding operatives adjusted formation instantly the mont he moved.

Not forced.

Instinctive.

Natural obedience.

Which ant this person held authority far above the others.

The battlefield pressure changed imdiately.

Even the sovereign flas flickering around the district seed to react subtly as the man entered the battlefield fully.

Not suppressed.

Observed.

For the first ti since arriving in the ruined district, Aether narrowed his eyes slightly.

This was the first mber of the hidden faction who genuinely felt dangerous individually.

Not rely because of power.

Because of control.

The man stopped several ters away before slowly lifting one hand toward his hood.

Part of the face covering slid downward.

A sharp-featured middle-aged face appeared beneath the shadows. Faint silver markings spread across portions of his neck like ancient veins etched into skin, while one of his eyes carried an unnatural gray coloration that seed almost detached from human biology itself.

Not beast mutation.

Not ordinary spiritual corruption.

Sothing older.

Sothing that carried traces of another world entirely.

The man studied Aether calmly before speaking.

"You may call ... Seraphel."

The na itself ant nothing publicly.

Yet the instant it was spoken—

The Fallen Succubus suddenly beca silent.

That alone imdiately caught Aether’s attention.

Inside the shadows surrounding him, crimson eyes narrowed faintly.

"Well now..." the Succubus murmured quietly.

Aether noticed the subtle change instantly.

"You know that na?"

"Not him specifically," she answered after a brief pause. "But the group behind it."

For the first ti since entering the Imperial City, the amusent in her voice faded slightly.

That alone spoke volus.

Seraphel observed the interaction calmly, his strange gray eye reflecting faint traces of sovereign fire dancing across the battlefield.

"You possess abilities tied to realms beyond this world," he said evenly.

The ruined district seed to grow quieter beneath his voice.

"So do we."

Dark-gray energy spread lightly from his hand.

The pressure felt strange imdiately.

Not beast energy.

Not elental power.

Not ordinary spiritual force.

Sothing different.

Ancient.

Distorted.

Aether’s gaze sharpened slightly.

At that mont, countless earlier events suddenly began connecting together within his mind.

The investigations.

The tracking operations.

The constant observation.

The repeated testing attempts.

These people were not simply researching humanoid beasts or rare bloodlines.

They were searching for abnormalities connected to higher realms entirely.

Including him.

Including the Fallen Succubus.

Possibly even the Heaven Eye itself.

Seraphel continued calmly while the surrounding operatives maintained formation.

"Lower realms are not isolated from one another," he explained. "There are gates. Fragnts. Descending inheritances buried beneath civilizations too primitive to understand them."

His gray eye glowed faintly.

"And occasionally..."

His gaze shifted toward the Fla Sovereign Pup standing beside Aether.

"...things that should not exist here."

The sovereign flas around the Pup flickered slightly in response, as if offended by the implication.

The Fallen Succubus finally spoke again from within the shadows.

"They call themselves hunters," she said with faint mockery. "Though most are glorified scavengers pretending to understand forces beyond them."

Seraphel’s expression remained unchanged.

"Yet we survive," he answered calmly.

Then suddenly—

He moved.

Dark-gray spiritual force erupted outward instantly.

The ruined battlefield distorted violently.

For a single fraction of a second, even the Heaven Eye lost clarity.

Aether’s senses dulled sharply.

Not illusion.

Perception interference.

The sa strange suppression he had faintly sensed during earlier academy incidents.

The surrounding streets blurred unnaturally while distant sounds warped into distorted echoes. Even spiritual awareness beca unstable beneath the spreading field.

ntal distortion.

Aether reacted instantly.

The Spirit Fairy glowed brightly near his shoulder as pure soul energy spread around his consciousness. Warm spiritual currents stabilized his mind while restoring clarity through the interference field.

At the sa ti, the Fla Sovereign Pup unleashed expanding sovereign pressure that burned through portions of the distortion nearby.

Even so—

The suppression remained dangerous.

Seraphel watched carefully.

"Remarkable," he admitted quietly. "You resist far better than expected."

Aether did not answer imdiately.

Instead, he made a decision.

For the first ti that night—

He stopped suppressing the Fallen Succubus completely.

Not full manifestation.

Not enough to expose her existence publicly.

Only controlled influence.

Dark crimson energy spread faintly through Aether’s shadow.

Instantly, his perception sharpened again.

ntal interference weakened rapidly.

At the sa mont, the surrounding hidden operatives visibly hesitated.

Instinctive fear spread through the battlefield.

The effect was subtle.

Yet impossible to ignore.

Even limited release of the Succubus’ aura influenced emotions naturally.

Not domination.

Not direct control.

Pressure.

Temptation.

Discomfort.

The kind of instinctive unease creatures felt when standing near sothing fundantally dangerous.

Seraphel’s expression changed for the first ti since the encounter began.

"...Interesting."

His gray eye focused sharply on Aether now.

"Not rely higher-realm inheritance."

Sothing colder entered his gaze.

"You carry a sealed entity."

The battlefield beca unnaturally quiet.

Even the surrounding operatives stiffened subtly after hearing those words.

Because the observation was dangerously accurate.

Aether gave no response whatsoever.

Instead—

He attacked.

The Fla Sovereign Pup exploded forward through spreading crimson-gold fire, moving like a streak of living fla across the battlefield. Condensed white-gold fragnts followed hidden trajectories through the air, curving unpredictably through sovereign fire toward multiple targets simultaneously.

At the sa ti, subtle Succubus influence distorted enemy reactions slightly.

Tiny delays.

Minor hesitation.

Fractional disruptions in emotional stability.

Not enough to expose her existence completely—

But enough to shift battlefield montum.

One hidden operative attempted to raise a ntal barrier.

The white-gold fragnt pierced through it instantly.

BOOM!

The operative crashed violently through the remains of a ruined structure as sovereign flas erupted across the street.

Another operative tried launching shadow restraints from beneath Aether’s blind spot—

Only for the Heaven Eye to predict the attack before it fully ford.

Aether sidestepped smoothly while condensed sovereign fla exploded downward from his palm, vaporizing the restraints before they could activate completely.

The battlefield shifted imdiately afterward.

The hidden faction’s perfect coordination began faltering under combined pressure from sovereign flas and subtle emotional distortion.

Several operatives were forced backward simultaneously.

One ntal-specialization user clutched his head painfully as soul pressure shattered portions of his defensive barriers.

Seraphel watched the battlefield carefully.

Then his expression darkened slightly.

"Enough."

Dark formations activated beneath the ruins instantly.

Aether sensed danger imdiately.

The Heaven Eye accelerated calculations.

Not offensive formations.

Not capture systems.

Retreat preparations.

Seraphel had realized sothing important.

Continuing the battle risked exposing too much.

And perhaps—

Risked awakening sothing even he did not fully understand.

At that sa mont, far across the rooftops beyond the ruined district, another figure moved silently through the storm-filled night.

Kael Draven.

The Abyss Raven glided overhead without sound, its dark wings blending seamlessly against the cloud-covered sky.

The strange disturbance spreading through the city had only intensified.

Flas.

Soul energy.

ntal suppression.

And sothing else.

Sothing Kael could not identify.

That alone made him curious enough to investigate personally.

Back in the ruined district, Aether suddenly sensed another presence approaching from afar.

Cold.

Calm.

Controlled.

Not part of the hidden faction.

Different.

The Heaven Eye reacted instantly.

Golden threads shifted sharply toward the approaching energy signature.

Then recognition surfaced.

Kael Draven.

Seraphel noticed the approaching presence as well.

A faint irritation finally crossed his expression.

"Tch."

Complications.

The surrounding hidden operatives imdiately began repositioning toward the activated dark formations.

Not chaotic retreat.

Organized withdrawal.

Professional.

Because too many dangerous variables were beginning to converge onto one battlefield simultaneously.

Seraphel’s gray eye locked onto Aether one final ti.

"We will et again."

Dark spiritual force surged outward.

The surrounding operatives dissolved into the activated formations almost instantly, vanishing into layers of distorted shadow as the battlefield trembled beneath residual pressure.

Then—

They were gone.

Leaving only burning ruins and lingering darkness behind.

Several seconds later, another figure landed silently atop a broken structure overlooking the battlefield.

Kael Draven.

The storm winds shifted around him while the Abyss Raven settled upon a shattered pillar nearby. His gray eyes moved slowly across the destruction surrounding the district.

The sovereign flas.

The shattered ntal formations.

The lingering traces of dark suppression energy.

Nothing escaped his observation.

Then his gaze finally shifted toward Aether directly.

For several long monts—

Neither spoke.

Yet the atmosphere imdiately grew heavy once more.

Because tomorrow’s opponents had now t before the finals.

Aether stood amidst flickering sovereign flas while Kael observed him calmly from above the ruins.

Neither released hostility openly.

Neither lowered their guard.

The silence itself beca pressure.

Kael’s gaze lingered briefly on the remaining traces of distorted shadow energy spread throughout the battlefield.

"...You attract interesting enemies," he said finally.

His voice carried the sa calm detachnt visible throughout his tournant matches.

Aether answered evenly.

"They found first."

Kael remained silent briefly after hearing that.

The Abyss Raven stirred faintly beside him while cold wind swept through the ruined district.

Then Kael’s eyes shifted toward the fading sovereign flas surrounding the Fla Sovereign Pup.

"The pressure from earlier," he said quietly. "That wasn’t entirely yours."

Not accusation.

Observation.

Aether gave no explanation.

Kael did not press further.

Instead, he looked toward the distant Imperial City glowing beneath storm clouds.

"Tomorrow," he said calmly, "there won’t be interruptions."

The aning behind those words was clear.

Tomorrow’s battle would be absolute.

No hidden factions.

No outside interference.

Only the finals.

Only victory and defeat.

Aether t his gaze steadily.

"I know."

For the first ti that night, faint interest appeared within Kael’s otherwise emotionless eyes.

Then he turned away.

The Abyss Raven spread its dark wings as Kael stepped backward from the ruined structure.

"We’ll finish this properly in the arena," he said quietly.

A mont later, both he and the Abyss Raven vanished into the storm-filled darkness beyond the district.

The ruined battlefield slowly fell silent afterward.

Crimson-gold flas faded gradually across shattered streets while smoke drifted upward beneath gathering clouds above the Imperial City.

The hidden hunters had temporarily retreated back into the shadows.

But the danger surrounding Aether had only deepened.

Because now he understood the truth clearly.

There were forces moving beneath the empire far older and more dangerous than ordinary political factions.

Hunters searching for fragnts of higher realms.

For sealed entities.

For abnormalities capable of disrupting the balance of worlds themselves.

And sowhere within those hidden depths—

They were still watching.

Standing amidst the fading aftermath, Aether looked toward the distant Imperial City in silence while cold rain finally began falling lightly from the darkened sky.

Tomorrow awaited.

The finals awaited.

Kael Draven awaited.

And sowhere far beyond the empire’s surface—

The hidden world continued observing both monsters preparing to collide.
