"Cold..."

Qin Mu felt a chill sweeping over him due to excessive blood loss.

Mu Wan listened to the man’s murmur, and reached out her small hands to embrace the man in front of her, then hugged him tightly to her chest.

"I’m here..."

Mu Wan pursed her lips, striving to transfer all her body warmth to Qin Mu.

Qin Mu was shivering continuously, and Mu Wan tried hard to use her uninjured right hand to rub warmth into him.

"Qin Mu... don’t scare ; Mr. Gu and Ranran will find us soon... very soon... you mustn’t let anything happen to you."

Mu Wan whispered in the man’s ear again and again.

Uttering words she wasn’t really sure about.

This vast expanse of ocean, seemingly endless.

In fact, it was entirely different from where she had been earlier in the day.

The signal at sea was exceedingly poor...

So for Gu Mochen to find her and Qin Mu amidst this boundless ocean was undoubtedly... very challenging indeed.

"Qin Mu... actually, even though I’ve never said it, you are more important to than my own life..."

Very important!

Otherwise... I wouldn’t have chased after the lost painting on that busy road.

Simply because... it was the first work I painted for Qin Mu openly.

Mu Wan sniffled, stretching out her trembling right hand to embrace the man in front of her.

"I’m begging you."

Mu Wan consoled Qin Mu repeatedly, her voice gentle as water, slowly flowing into Qin Mu’s heart.

Qin Mu frowned his hawk-like eyes, reached out his large hand, and wrapped it around the woman’s slender waist.

"Mm!"

Mu Wan was pleasantly surprised by the man’s subconscious action and then, with reddened eyes, hugged him tighter.

"Stay awake... Mr. Gu and Ranran will be here soon... very soon..."

...

As the sun rose, Mu Wan finally perceived the entire appearance of the isolated island.

So... this island was much larger than expected.

At least the shore area seed endless to Mu Wan.

Mu Wan felt sowhat fortunate that last night she managed to find her way back in the dark, still reasonably clear-headed.

Qin Mu’s consciousness was still sowhat fuzzy, showing no sign of awakening.

What to do?

With just herself and Qin Mu on the island, they practically had no presence.

At night, they could rely on... the campfire.

But what about during the day?

Mu Wan’s beautiful eyes flashed with a hint of dark light—she could send out smoke.

Thinking of this, Mu Wan quickly dragged her injured legs to find so leaves, which, when burned, would produce a large amount of white smoke.

Hope...

Gu Mochen could find them through the white smoke.

...

"Mr. Gu... Look... there’s white smoke over there..."

"Hmm?"

Gu Mochen had been flying across the entire sea for a full six hours, eyes glued, looking for any sign related to Qin Mu and Mu Wan.

Hearing the pilot’s exclamation, his dark eyes lit up with joy, and his gaze fell on the nearby island where indeed white smoke was rising.

This was an obvious distress signal.

Gu Mochen’s thin lips pursed.

"Quickly, land over there..."

"Yes!"

...

Mu Wan had gone nearly a whole day and night without a drop of water, only having eaten a few wild fruits to barely stave off hunger.

Her physical strength... had reached its limit.

Mu Wan trembled as she continuously placed leaves on the fire, repeatedly returning to the forest to fetch more leaves.
