"Roar!!"

In the span of barely a hundred ters, the distance vanished in an instant. Yago drove the titan like a madman straight at the Female Titan, roaring as he hurled a punch. The fist carried a terrifying gale and smashed brutally into the Female Titan's head.

The Female Titan's motionless head was smashed halfway apart. Her entire body was sent flying by the Fate Titan's terrifying strength, crashing through several giant trees.

The Fate Titan's crimson gaze fixed on the Female Titan struggling on the ground. Clenching his steaming fists, he strode toward her, his massive body trampling the earth and making the ground tremble.

Reaching the Female Titan, the Fate Titan opened a mouth full of sharp teeth and let out another dreadful roar. The Female Titan's regenerative power was astonishing—her head had been blown apart, yet she still managed to stagger to her feet.

But the Fate Titan showed no rcy, smashing her back to the ground with another punch. He then mounted her, raining blow after blow down on her head.

At this mont, within the nape of the titan, Yago's eyes had completely turned crimson, and the Fate Titan's gaze was likewise染ed an eerie red.

The Fate Titan's punches grew ever sharper, his gaze more and more violent. Before the seventeen-ter-tall Fate Titan, the less-than-fifteen-ter Female Titan was like a helpless chick.

The Female Titan struggled to raise an arm, but the Fate Titan seized it, threw back his head with a furious roar, and wrenched hard—tearing the arm clean off.

The Fate Titan stood up, the crimson, violent light in his eyes intensifying. He lifted his massive foot and stomped down, blood splattering everywhere.

"Bastard! Pay for my Annie with your life! Ah!"

Inside the nape, Yago had completely lost himself to madness. A strange sensation invaded his brain, making his rage swell, stripping away all reason, even causing his body to slip out of control.

But Yago didn't care anymore. Right now, he wanted only one thing—to avenge Annie.

Crack.

The Fate Titan's body jolted. His crimson gaze shifted backward as a three-ter-class titan clung to his leg, gnawing at it. The Fate Titan kicked once, sending the small titan straight to its end.

But the surrounding roar grew louder and louder. One titan after another erged from the Giant Tree Forest, twisting their deford bodies as they charged toward the Fate Titan and the Female Titan, as if so fatal temptation were drawing them in.

The Fate Titan's mouth, lined with sharp teeth, slowly opened. Massive amounts of steam poured out. In his current frenzy, these ordinary titans were the perfect outlet for his rage.

Bang!!

Countless titans collided with the Fate Titan, instantly stirring up a storm of blood and gore.

Almost all the titans over ten ters rushed toward the Fate Titan, but a few smaller ones, only several ters tall, stumbled toward the nearly motionless Female Titan.

A thousand-mile dike can collapse because of an ant hole—what does that an? No matter how powerful Yago's Fate Titan was, once surrounded by more than thirty titans, there was no turning the tide.

The Fate Titan fought desperately within the horde, but alone he could not hold out. His arms were torn off by titans, a massive wound opened in his chest. Though steam continuously billowed from the injury, his regeneration could not keep up.

The Fate Titan's movents grew slower and slower, his roars weaker and weaker.

In the ravaged forest, giant trees lay toppled everywhere. More than twenty evaporating titan corpses littered the ground. The Fate Titan knelt with his head lowered, breathing heavily, both arms severed, the crimson light in his eyes gradually dimming, as five ten-ter-class titans gnawed at his body.

On the other side, several three- to four-ter titans were also chewing on the now-silent Female Titan.

Suddenly, a five-ter titan crawled over and bit open the Female Titan's neck, now so mangled it was unrecognizable. Fixating on one spot, it saw sothing squirming beneath a patch of relatively intact skin. The five-ter titan stared blankly.

The skin split open. From the nape of the Female Titan, a figure erged—golden hair slick with mucus, strands of muscle still clinging to her face. Her uniform was soaked in titan blood, the right sleeve torn, revealing a pale, slender arm.

She opened her eyes. Pale blue eyes looked toward the Fate Titan. As if sensing sothing, the Fate Titan lifted his lowered head, crimson gaze eting pale blue eyes.

...

Within the nape, Yago was gasping for breath. His entire body throbbed with unrelenting soreness, his head splitting with pain. His consciousness was muddled, a constant buzzing ringing in his ears. He felt unbearably irritable, longing to close his eyes and rest—preferably never to wake again.

And so, Yago slowly closed his eyes, darkness creeping into his mind.

Yet within that darkness, a point of blue light flickered—tiny, like a firefly in a long night. Though faint, it captured all of Yago's attention, restoring a trace of clarity to his muddled consciousness.

Instinctively, Yago wanted to approach it, to grasp that blue light. That light seed to be the most important thing in his life. Driven by his intense will, the blue glow grew larger and brighter, until it illuminated his entire consciousness.

The Fate Titan's crimson, violent gaze finally cleared. He slowly raised his head, eting a pair of pale blue eyes.

"Annie..."

As awareness returned to the nape, Yago froze. His mind, freshly awakened, fell blank once more as he stared numbly at the figure before him.

Half of her body was still embedded in the Female Titan's nape, but her upper body had erged completely. That familiar face, the uniform bearing the Wings of Freedom—Yago couldn't believe it. Annie was still alive.

Annie was the Female Titan. Yago hadn't yet recovered from the shock when he felt sothing in his mind on the verge of breaking through.

Annie, having erged from the Female Titan's nape, had no strength left. Regret filled her—she hadn't managed to complete the mission after all. In her heart, she apologized to her father far across the sea.

She lifted her head and looked at the Fate Titan. She had never imagined that Yago would possess the power of a titan. What a pity.

The next mont, Annie was grabbed by a massive hand. The five-ter titan seized her, staring at her blankly. Annie was powerless to resist—completely exhausted, she could no longer transform into a titan.

Annie turned her head toward the Fate Titan and softly said, "I'm sorry, Yago."

The five-ter titan shoved Annie toward its mouth.

"No!!!!"

From the nape, Yago roared with all his remaining strength. No—he could not lose Annie.

The Fate Titan's crimson eyes, once dimd by exhaustion, flared bright again. A terrifying surge of power blasted away all the titans clinging to his body.

Armless, Yago drove the Fate Titan into a mad sprint toward the five-ter titan.

When facing death, even the strongest mind loses its calm—let alone Annie. She was just a girl.

She was so tired. Heavy responsibilities had always pressed down on her. Few people truly cared about her, and those who did had fallen into hell because of her companions. To die like this, Annie thought, might even be a kind of release.

But when the five-ter titan opened its gaping maw before her, her heart still trembled. Uncontrollable fear surged up. Tears stread down her face. She cried—crying in fear, utterly helpless.

She seed to understand how Marcel must have felt when he was seized by a titan—that mont when a human is at their most fragile.

Crying in terror, Annie murmured, "Father, Yago, sob... I'm scared..."

The titan bit down on one of Annie's arms without rcy, tearing it off. Blood sprayed out, and Annie felt searing pain from her arm.

"I... am the demon after all... I'm sorry, everyone..."

Annie finally closed her eyes.

Boom!!

The five-ter titan was smashed away like a ball. Annie fell to the ground. She opened her eyes in confusion, a ferocious face looming before her.

"Ya...go."

The armless titan swallowed Annie into his mouth, rose to his feet, and sprinted wildly into the forest, several titans chasing after him.
