Chapter 1295: Advise

Atticus had a hard ti understanding what he ant. Why would more power make them weaker?

But after Magnus explained, he finally understood. It was simple, actually. Atticus had unintentionally compared himself with the Eldorians.

His ntal capacity and sheer talent could keep up with the staggering number of abilities, but the sa couldn’t be said for them.

Before this power ca, they were paragons who had mastered a single ability to an extraordinary degree.

Being given so many powerful abilities all at once wasn’t sothing all of them could handle, especially not as fast as Atticus would want.

Mastering abilities naturally took ti. Magnus had reminded Atticus of that. Just because he was different didn’t an others were too.

Magnus left shortly after, leaving Atticus with his thoughts.

‘Maybe I’ll dampen things like this down in the future when he’s around,’ he thought. It wouldn’t change his actions in any real way, but Atticus hated seeing Magnus feel guilty.

That night, Atticus ditated on top of the hill in the silence and emptiness of night. It cald him for the events to co.

The days after went by in a blur. Every routine stayed the sa. Atticus trained, occasionally had dinner with family.

Most of the Eldorians did the sa, training intensively. Atticus had warned them about the dangers of the Midplanes.

After the events of the Virelenna, none of them wanted to be caught off guard. They refined their powers and ensured they were the best versions of themselves.

But of them all, Oberon spent his ti making sure all was well with the new world. He was occasionally helped by Jenera, but the Queen was more focused on training and getting stronger for Ascension Day.

Then there was Ozeroth and Whisker. Atticus hadn’t seen them since that night, but he had felt Ozeroth’s emotions. Excitent. Shock. Fondness. Pride. Pride. Pride.

Atticus had to tune it out because of the constant pride.

He kept a close eye on the Apexes but hadn’t discovered anything odd yet. After a few days, he began to question if he was just being paranoid.

His group, Zoey, Aurora, Ember, Caldor, Kael, and even Nate, all continued training. Unfortunately, if they ever wanted to beco Eldorians, they had to reach the Paragon rank first to even survive the process.

Aurora had once claid he was a god and asked if he couldn’t just heal her body through the process, but Atticus had explained that it wasn’t just about the physical.

Becoming a Paragon hardened the mind. That was one of the reasons paragons could survive the process with their ntal state intact.

Aurora had been sad, but only trained harder after that.

Of the group, Kael was closest to the goal. While Caldor was older, that didn’t change the advantage Kael’s bloodline gave him. The Marked.

His mark was a god. There could be no better boost. Kael had already achieved the Master rank and was on the cusp of forming his domain.

Aurora, along with Ember and Caldor, were all in the Master ranks. Nate, though, was still in the Expert rank, trying to cross.

Atticus had finally decided to tell Nate about what had happened in the Zorvan world. While he left out the part about erasing it, he told the boy he had scoured the entire world and found no sign of Lucas’s sister or mother.

Nate had cried, sohow blaming himself for the failure. But his shutdown lasted only a few hours. He returned to the training room and resud with more fervor.

It hadn’t been long since Zoey started her mana training, so she was still behind, but climbing at a frightening pace due to her drake body.

Atticus t with them a few tis, often having to go through rounds of Kael challenging him to a battle, despite constantly being refused. That never stopped Kael.

That interaction was usually Atticus’ cue to leave and resu his own training. Unfortunately, there was no more training for Will or even Mana. He already had all the mana the lower plane could offer. Sa for his Will. Even his elent.

Instead, Atticus focused on sothing else, his fighting capabilities. He trained his combinations, refined his elents, sharpened his katana arts, and worked to master the new abilities the other worlds had brought him.

The days passed without any real events, until the sixth night. The night before Ascension Day.

While deeply engrossed in training, Atticus suddenly felt a call.

‘Quiet Fla?’ he thought. What does the star want now?

Atticus glanced around. He was in a vast wasteland stretching for thousands of miles. A blue do encompassed the land.

Eldoralth had grown many tis larger, with vast lands sprawled across its surface. No training room could contain his power anymore, so he had taken to training out in the world.

Atticus had selected an uninhabited continent and created a barrier around it to stop his attacks from reaching the outside.

Still, he had lost count of how many tis he’d had to repair the ground. If he hadn’t been pulling his punches, he was sure he’d have reduced the entire continent to rubble.

Atticus sheathed his katana, snapped his fingers, and watched the earth repair itself. Then, without wasting ti, he vanished, feeling the familiar sensation of teleportation.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a ruined world of perpetual darkness and destruction.

Atticus glanced around. “Did you add more light?”

Quiet Fla chuckled as Atticus appeared on his island. He was seated on his throne, his cloak revealed.

“It is brighter,” Quiet Fla said, smiling. “My domain adjusts to my feelings. Let’s just say… a light recently illuminated my path.” He gave Atticus a knowing look.

Atticus ignored it.

“Why did you call?”

Quiet Fla’s expression shifted, turning more serious now.

“The representatives… they’ve been wanting to et you.”

“I know,” Atticus said calmly. “I refused all of them.”

Quiet Fla stared at Atticus for a mont. “You’re hellbent on not joining any faction…”

“I am.”

“They will not take this lightly.”

Atticus’ expression did not change. “I know.”

“You’ll be targeted.”

The air around them grew colder. “I know.”

“They’ll–”

“Are you threatening , Quiet Fla?”

It was the first ti Atticus could call him by his na, and Quiet Fla did not like the chill that ca with it.

“No.” He shook his head. “I am simply trying my best to advise you.”

“If you want to be of help, tell about the ascension process.”
