Atticus made his way through the hallways of the willhall, lost in his thoughts.
He’d just spoken to Masner about what had been troubling him, and he couldn’t help but admit, it was truly troubleso.
’They took precautions.’ His mind had begun piecing together everything, using the info from Masner.
According to him, the reason he hadn’t felt Kale’s world despite killing and absorbing his will was because of the precautions most factions had put in place to prevent sothing like this from happening.
Pride was a difficult thing to control, and gods, especially newly erging ones, had a lot of it. The factions had experienced far too many losses because of this.
There had been instances of gods blatantly challenging their peers and then losing their worlds in the process.
Each world lost was a loss to the faction. Therefore, the faction made it so that lower ranked gods didn’t have the authority to wager their worlds.
To do that, they needed to take permission from at least a Count. Even a Viscount couldn’t.
’I should have made it clear.’
That was where Atticus had ssed up. He couldn’t help but bla his lack of information. If he had made it clear from the outset that he wanted Kale’s world, then this probably wouldn’t have happened.
Instead, the wager had been solely focused on their lives.
’Lesson learned.’
Though he had taken it as an experience, Atticus still couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret.
The furry creature that presided over their match had called Kale a Baron. From the information he’d gotten from the library, it ant he had at least five worlds under his belt.
’Eldoralth is about one and a half.’
Atticus had checked the dinsions for how the sizes of worlds were asured, and after comparing them with Eldoralth’s asurents, he was able to determine that they were just above one Baron ranked world.
Which ant, for him to reach the Baron rank, he needed to absorb at least three and a half more Baron sized worlds.
Atticus soon had to clear his thoughts when it was ti for his next class of the day. It was his only other class, in fact.
He had used the free ti he had to think about all that was occurring. The Redfla’s sudden hostility, the precautions of the major factions.
Now that he’d shown himself capable to the other gods, he had no more power of surprise. They would see him coming, and higher ranked gods would seldom want to agree to their peers wagering their worlds.
Reaching and entering the class, Atticus was t with a more spacious room.
The chairs were arranged the sa way, with rows ascending the further one was from the front. But each row had far more space from each other, and the platform in front was also more spacious.
Atticus wasn’t shocked to see the classroom more packed than the last class. The major reason being what the class was about.
’Willarts.’
In the past, Eldoralth’s bloodline and arts had been the people’s lifeblood. With a powerful bloodline and art, one would be able to achieve the impossible.
Such was the sa with the middle planes, except rather than bloodline, there was will path, and rather than normal arts, there were Willarts.
With powerful Willarts, one could defeat another with a stronger will. There were obviously a lot of technicalities to this, but it didn’t change the fact that it was possible.
Because of this, Willarts class was one that the gods, especially the new, seldom missed.
Atticus took in the eyes of most of the gods. They had turned towards him the instant he entered. This ti around, there were no posters, nor had anyone set up any trap for him.
He felt a familiar intense stare on him and he turned, eting eyes with a Redfla woman sitting at the front row seat. Compared to the other periods, there was a small smile on her face.
’She didn’t use it this ti.’ Atticus thought coldly.
Imdiately after his fight with Kale, this sa woman had used so art against him. Though with Omnicognition he’d already seen that it was set to stop before it reached him, he had still gone ahead to copy and attack back.
To him, it had been a warning. He wasn’t one who took tricks. Attack him, regardless of reason, and he’d attack back.
’She’s strong.’ That brief mont was all it took him to discover this. But it wasn’t only her. The Redflas seated on the second row also gave off more heat than Kale could ever dream of giving.
’Especially him.’
Atticus’s eyes focused on a man directly behind the woman. His half closed eyes were also fixed on him, silent. Of all the Redflas, minus the woman on the front row, he gave off the most pressure.
Atticus made his way towards his seat without preamble. He chose the sa sitting arrangent, far back, close to the window.
Though he wanted to avoid backing potential enemies, there was another reason he sat at the back today.
’I can see the whole class.’
This was the Willart class. There was never an opportunity to observe and copy the arts of other factions than now.
Ti passed, and to Atticus’s satisfaction, no one approached or tried to talk to him.
A figure soon entered the classroom, a woman. She looked young, far too young considering who he’d t so far, Masner and the other teacher.
The hall fell silent as she reached the podium. Though the gods disdained showing respect to another, the Willart class wasn’t one any could slack on.
As she swept her gaze across the hall, Atticus didn’t miss the brief pause when she got to him.
"My na is Laramie. You may only refer to by such, without any suffix nor prefixes." She glanced around the room.
"I am in charge of the Willart class. We will begin now."
