Chapter 1366: Ti

Atticus felt a wave of shock travel through his being.

His burning will had just collided with that of the masked willguard’s, and it didn’t take him ti to co to the conclusion;

‘His will is stronger than mine.’

Atticus was sure of it. If he hadn’t compressed his will to only encompass his blade, he doubted if it wouldn’t have shattered.

His eyes t the willguard’s, and Atticus didn’t miss the shock in them. He was shocked Atticus had been able to withstand his will.

Regardless, Atticus didn’t care.

More shockwaves traveled through his will, threatening to break it.

‘I have to do sothing.’ The thought thundered in his head, and from the depth of his soul, sothing answered.

Atticus’ crimson eyes flashed purple, and like a flicker, crimson will flared purple. In the next mont, the golden sturdy will of the willguard began to flicker.

The willguard’s eyes shot wide in utter shock, muttering under his breath.

“Solvath’s fragnt.”

Atticus narrowed his eyes the mont he heard those words.

‘So that’s why…’

Elderish had warned him of this. That in the middle planes, there were people who would hunt down the kin of Solvath.

While Atticus had kept that in mind, he had literally awakened minutes ago. He would’ve never expected that it would be so soon.

‘We have to escape.’

He had only now understood the gravity of the situation.

This wasn’t so petty cri like participating in an illegal auction, this was a universe wide threat.

Solvath was a primordial star, which ant his enemies must be on the sa level, or at least, on a level beyond even the middle planes.

Wasting ti defeating these n would only be detrintal.

Atticus focused his weight downward, legs hitting the ground. He stomped forward, and his head exploded towards the willguard’s head.

The man’s eyes narrowed in shock. He was barely able to gather his will despite the disharmonizing nature of Atticus’ purple will.

Their heads t in a brutal explosion of energy, sending both of them hurtling in opposite directions.

Atticus twisted in the air, leaning down and skidding across the shattered ground. His mind worked quickly.

‘We have to es-‘

Before he could warn the others, he felt a wave of emotions surge through him. Anguish, betrayal, anger, rage, resentnt.

Each emotion was deep, as though they’d been piling up for millennia. Atticus tried, but no matter how much, he couldn’t get himself under control.

His movents seized, vision turning black. His eyes caught sight of an approaching golden beam screaming towards him before his vision left him.

‘Shit!’

Atticus knew the willguard had shot that beam. It had the ability to absorb any will it ca in contact with, using it to fuel itself.

Should that beam make contact with him, he wasn’t sure what to expect. The only hope he could possibly have with defending against it was if his will was more powerful than the shooter’s. However, it wasn’t.

Atticus went through another round of vision. It was the sa as the last ti. The Big Bang of the universe, Solvath’s end, and his childhood. He lived through it, the emotion threatening to overwhelm him.

Tears spilled from his eyes, oblivious to his imminent demise. But just as the beam was about to hit, a piercing cry tore him out of his visions.

“Your eminence!”

A figure blurred past him.

Atticus caught sight of the broad fra of Kancilot just as he brought his broad sword down on the golden beam.

The force of the collision jerked his body back, forcing him to take many steps backwards. Regardless, Kancilot gritted his teeth and held on.

A thick orange glow surrounded him, converging more on his sword battling the beam.

‘Aura.’

Atticus had asked about the energy of Kariot. It was mana, but more dense and powerful. Aura, Kancilot had explained.

A roar tore out from the king’s mouth, and he stomped forward, blasting the beam away.

Atticus felt a hand on his shoulder and turned, Whisker was staring at him with a narrowed gaze.

“Good?” His tone was devoid of warmth, sharp. He looked like he had entered his battle mode.

Atticus stood straighter, regaining a semblance of control in his expression. “I will be. We need to escape, we can’t fight them.”

“Yeah no shit.” Whisker narrowed his gaze on one of them, as though he were an abomination. “Fighting a sentinel is always a mistake.”

“A sentinel?”

“There will be ti for explanations later.” Whisker quickly said, suddenly moving to stand by Kancilot who stood tall, cold eyes fixed on the sentinel ahead.

“They’ve covered this area with a do. Get us out of it while we hold them back.”

Atticus narrowed his eyes, finally noticing the golden do that had surrounded the entire area.

He was only now starting to understand how out of it he really was.

First, he had only noticed the first attack when it was so close to the motel. He had zoned out during battle and if not for Kancilot and Whisker, he wasn’t sure what would have occurred. Now, he hadn’t even scanned his surroundings appropriately.

‘I need to get myself under control.’

Atticus shoved down his unease and nodded. “I only need a few seconds.”

He vanished the mont he spoke, heading towards the do’s edge in the distance.

Atticus caught sight of the sentinel moving to follow him, only to be stopped by Whisker and Kancilot. The booms of their battle reached him, but Atticus didn’t turn back.

He glanced briefly at Ozeroth’s battle. The man was struggling, barely able to utilize his will, and when he did, it only ended up losing in a clash with the other sentinel.

‘A sentinel.’

Atticus’ mind replayed all the information he’d gathered at the library. He could rember the will guard’s ranking. Of the five, sentinel was the third.

He was sure a sentinel held a high power in the will guard. But this only brought Atticus to the main problem. The willguard.

‘Are they working for the primordial stars?’

Why were they after him? They police the middle planes. That they would be after him because of the fragnt was a mystery to him.

Atticus buried the thought, taking his gaze away from Ozeroth’s battle. He tore forward and reached the do’s edge.

‘Pride eyes.’ As Atticus’ eyes flashed gold, he tried to peer into the makings of the do.

‘I can’t break through with brute force.’ Atticus had thought about how he would get through the do.

His will was weaker than the sentinel who most definitely set this up. And unfortunately, he couldn’t unravel the do because he couldn’t control their golden will, whatever it was.

However, he had still been able to find a way. Each will art required a process to achieve.

And if Atticus could understand said process, without even being able to control the will used, he could disrupt it.

It was like destroying only the middle of a bridge, rather than everything. It would still render it unusable. To achieve this he would have to create a counter art with his will. One that would burn the bridge.

Atticus focused and tried to unravel the do, only to freeze. ‘It’s too much.’

It was like having to go through trillions of code. He would eventually be able to do it, but it’d take ti. Atticus clenched his fist.
