Atticus' eyes fixed themselves on the gauntlet in front of him. It had been the weapon the Sentinel used to negate Solvath's power.
'I'll check you later. First… the other.' He snapped out of his thoughts, turning towards the direction of the ongoing fight. There were more enemies to kill.
…
Anorah twisted and spun in the air, regaining her spiraling montum. Her inner light shone through her eyes, piercing the dark world.
'There.'
Her eyes locked on to the first Sentinel, hurtling through the terrain.
She glanced at the purple storm that had suddenly engulfed them and the horizon.
'He saved .'
Anorah gritted her teeth. She had been monts away from death after falling for the Sentinel's trap. In Asterra, there was only one person with such power beside her.
'Atticus Ravenstein.'
Anorah gripped her sword tightly. She hated it, the feeling of inadequacy. He had saved her life earlier; to think she would allow it to happen again.
'Logoth.'
The world turned silent. Her surging emotions vanished, replaced with an unyielding calm.
Fixing her emotionless eyes on the Sentinel, Anorah dipped, compressed, then shot forward like a missile.
The Sentinel's eyes darkened.
'What was that?'
His companion had just told him to get ready to escape. Was it because of this storm? Or…
'Is he really that strong?'
He had seen the state the second Sentinel had been in before. Though he battled the god of Asterra, it appeared as though his companion had it worse.
But how could a lowly god push back a Sentinel? A legend. The child should be outmatched in both power and experience! But he knew better than to take his companion's words for granted.
That boy was not to be taken lightly.
'I'll kill her first.'
He fixed his eyes on the approaching saint.
With the light of the world gone, all he had to do was negate Solvath's powers, and she would be helpless.
He reached for another round sphere in his arm, ready to burst it, when a brilliant glow flared from above.
'What?'
He glanced up, and his eyes shot open.
A massive dragon roared down from the heavens, its purple storm tearing through the darkness.
'How can he attack !?'
The Sentinel darted aside, barely evading the strike. The impact crashed into the ground, vaporizing an entire stretch of terrain, shockwaves rolling outward in tidal waves of dust and debris.
This wasn't the Saint's attack. It was the child's!
'But how?' How could he attack him? What of his companion?
His thought was cut short as countless slashes scread toward him.
With a thought, the darkness surged to et them, but his eyes widened in disbelief.
'They carved through it!?'
He threw himself to the side, narrowly avoiding the cleaving strikes.
'I can't feel him…'
Had he truly died? Had the child actually killed him, a Sentinel? A legend!?
More slashes ca. He didn't bother to block this ti. He evaded, eyes cold.
'I have to warn the Judicators.'
There was no ti to kill the Saint again. He had to escape and deliver the warning. This child was dangerous, far beyond reason.
As he weaved through the onslaught of slashes, his gaze flickered to his arm. Through the veil of darkness, he saw the glowing tattoos emblazoned across it.
'There's no choice.'
He opened his mouth to speak, when an intense brilliance pierced the darkened world.
He snapped his gaze upward.
'The sun…'
His eyes trembled. The effects had waned, light was returning!
He turned, only to see a streak of radiance engulf his vision.
'The Saint!'
Anorah appeared in a burst of divine light, her sword raised high. The brilliance around her pierced through heaven and void alike.
"This is for One."
Her blade ca crashing down. The light roared, splitting the dark like judgnt.
'There's no ti…' the Sentinel's eyes darkened with hate. He knew instantly, he couldn't evade!
However, a figure blurred between them just as the attack descended, her sword surging to et the Saint's.
The Sentinel's gaze narrowed in shock.
'The Initiate?'
The two blades t, and the world exploded in radiance. A burst of pure light swallowed everything.
Anorah's eyes narrowed through the blinding flare, landing on the woman that had just appeared.
'Is she…?'
The woman's eyes had suddenly blazed purple, the glow spreading across her veins until her whole form shimred with violet brilliance.
The air turned heavy. Ti slowed.
In that frozen instant, Anorah saw and felt it all.
'She's awakening a fragnt!'
But she was Will Guard. Had there always been a marked among their ranks?
'No… she's just awakening,' Anorah realized. She was new and didn't know her fate.
'I have to take her.'
But her eyes sharpened in the next mont. Behind the girl, the Sentinel had suddenly moved.
As she saw his revealed arm and the tattoos glowing across it, her eyes widened.
'I can't let him use it. Heed my call!'
The light around her surged, crashing towards them like a tide, but before it could strike, the Sentinel's mouth parted.
"Take us back."
The tattoos across his arm blazed violently, then his arm detonated in a surge of searing light that slamd Anorah backward.
As she steadied herself midair, her eyes snapped back toward him.
'The girl!'
The Sentinel held the now unconscious girl close as a column of light engulfed them both.
As their forms began to dissolve, a detached voice echoed through the fading storm.
"Godspeed Grace."
A figure ripped across the world.
He was so fast that the very fabric of air split, the terrain rending open in his wake. The glow itself lagged behind him.
With cold eyes, Atticus thrust his katana forward, aiming straight for the Sentinel's head.
But the Sentinel only watched, that sa cold glint in his gaze.
"This is not over… tainted."
And then he vanished. The blade passed through the fading light, cleaving the earth for miles. The horizon seed to split open, torn apart by the residual force of Atticus's strike.
As the storm subsided, the whole of Asterra fell silent.
