"You're starting to piss off, Dane." Her hand moved casually. A crystalline block unfurled from the floor and snaked around him.
With a flick of her wrist he was flung forward, stopped a breath away from her face as if caught on a wire.
"Listen," she said, "I don't give a crap about your mother. What matters is you crossed us and did sothing, and I want to know what that is."
"P-promise you'll keep my mother safe if I talk," Lyanna burst into laughter. "I've truly gone soft. It seems there's been a mistake here." "Urgh!"
The frost laced his clothes and chilled his bones.
"Tell , Dane, what part of our interaction do you think is bargaining? You're going to die, and so is your mother, eventually. The only thing you have a modicum of control over is how painful it's going to be. It's been a while now, I hope you resist."
"M-monster," Lyanna smiled. "That I am." In the silence that followed, Dane's screams tore through the small apartnt, but the sound didn't make it outside. After a few minutes, Lyanna stood in the bathroom sink, washing her bloodied arms. 'It's worse than I thought.' Throughout the day, she'd visited a total of the eighty inconsistencies she determined earlier this morning. Of them all, five had turned out to be spies. 'Five spies. How?' They were no one of significance. Simply personal assistants to another of no importance, yet the thought of their figure unnerved Lyanna. After the clash of Ravensteins Vs Surnix hold, which ended in the overwhelming victory of the Ravensteins, the crowd cheered with everything they had. The event went on and the next battle began between Khelzar and Ashveil Dominion. It went on longer than the forr, but none from the crowd could complain. The battles had been intense and high staked. Afterwards, due to ti having been wasted, Nathan had ordered that the next clash be held the next day. For him, it'd been better, after all, it would make him even more money! As night descended, and everyone retired to their room, Caldor found himself wandering the mansion halls. 'That was terrible.' He couldn't stop replaying his interaction with that Surnix hold girl in his mind. 'She didn't even tell her na!' He'd tried to get closer to her during their fight, but seed to have made things worse. 'She'll never want to talk to again. I should've just played dead. Even the coliseum rats have better love lives.'
Brooding, Caldor made his way to the kitchen for a night snack. They had placed all the teams in a singular mansion within the grand coliseum. Though each team had their area, and mbers their rooms, so aspects were common areas, like the kitchen. 'My cousin's a literal god, and I'm fighting over fridge space with strangers. Beautiful.'
He reached the kitchen, but froze the mont he sighted a figure in the kitchen. 'Who?'
Caldor narrowed his eyes, but they almost bulged when he saw who it was. 'It's her!' Without thinking, he blurted; "It's you!" As the girl turned to him, she frowned. "Why did you co here?" "Why did I co to… the kitchen?" The girl's face darkened, but Caldor quickly waved his arms.
"Ah sorry sorry! I didn't an that!" 'Co on Caldor, you can't ruin this again!' "I ca to get so food. Late night snack, haha." He walked up to her and gestured to the fridge. "Can I?" "Hmph." She glared at him but said nothing, stepping out of the way. Caldor opened the fridge, and his face darkened the mont he saw all the snacks were gone.
'Fucking hell. Those bastards!' he cursed. 'Calm down, she's still watching.'
He forced himself to focus on the ingredients left and thanked his stars he could at least cook. Grabbing what he needed, he set them on the counter.
"I can see you're also searching for sothing to eat." He glanced at her as he lined the ingredients up. "I'm about to cook, want so?"
'Hehe, that was so cool!'
"No."
Caldor blinked. Did he hear that right? But she said nothing else and simply turned to leave.
'Huh!?'
"W-wait!" He blurted, panic creeping in. "I'm sorry about before!"
She turned slightly. "Sorry?"
"You know." He scratched his head awkwardly. "For hitting you?"
"It was a fluke."
"But—"
"It was a fluke." She adjusted her glasses calmly.
'Fluke my ass!' Caldor bit back the words and forced a smile.
"Of course, it was. Which is why I'm apologizing. Let make a al to apologize properly. Co on, it'll only take a few minutes."
"No—"
Her reply was cut short by the unmistakable rumble of her stomach. Silence followed. Her face flushed crimson as she coughed into her hand.
Caldor barely managed to hide his grin. "I'll be good. Promise. Co on, have a seat."
Though hesitant, she exhaled softly and sat down.
"By the way… what's your na?"
"…"
"Co on, you can at least tell that, right? I'm literally about to cook for you."
